When I made a reservation I asked about their cancellation policy and was told that you had to cancel 5 days prior to your reservation to get your $ 100 down payment back and if it was after that than they would charge you 15% of your total night’s stay. I had a death in the family, unfortunately, and had to cancel 9 days prior to my reservation. I was still charged the 15% and when I called to inquire I was told a new cancellation policy and their customer service was horrible. I believe it is an older couple who own it and they must not remember their policy half of the time? Besides the fact the place is extremely outdated and needed an update in the 90’s, I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

I almost don’t want to write a review, because it’s already rather difficult to get a reservation to stay here. But, here goes: My husband and I received an overnight stay at this resort as a wedding gift from his parents. They ranted and raved about the place, so we were pretty excited to go. I checked out their website, and it’s pretty primitive, as far as websites go, yet I remained hopeful. We arrived at the location and saw a giant house in the front, with an office attached. We were told we would need to knock on the office door to check in with Lou(the owner), so we parked and he actually greeted us outside and invited us into the office. Lou was very pleasant and got us all checked in very quickly, then told us to follow him back to our cabin(he drove off on a golf cart and we followed in our car). There are 3 cabins, and each is completely detached from the other, so it’s literally like your own little cabin. Ours was the largest of the three. We followed him into the cabin and both of us were very happily surprised to see just how nice the interior was(the tiny website does NOT do it justice). Lou showed us around and showed us how to work everything. I want to point out that the place is NOT very technologically up-to-date; you press a doorbell-like button to warm up the hot tub, there is a regular tube TV in the bedroom with a combo DVD and VCR player attached, etc… HOWEVER, none of that matters to us as we didn’t go there to worry about that kind of thing. The pool was rather large and has a temperature control, but it’s quite warm already and we didn’t need to adjust it. You can also adjust the temperature of the bedroom and the pool room separately, which we found to be quite nice. What’s nicest about this place is you can tell it is VERY clean. We were told by my in-laws as well as Lou that he empties the hot tub after EVERY stay and scrubs it down to ensure that it’s completely cleaned for the next guest. The furniture in the pool-area is plastic and disinfected after every guest, as well. The bedroom area(which is separate from the pool/hot tub area, but separated by glass so you can constantly see all around you, was very nice. It had a rather spacious fridge, wet-bar, glasses, table and 2 chairs(also plastic), TV, a very nice stereo(you can hear your music in the pool area, too), and a large water bed. I usually don’t care for water beds, but this one was not uncomfortable at all. There are also mirrors above the in front of the bed, which was rather nice considering we were on our honeymoon ;) They also had some VCR tapes(like I said, not technologically updated but who cares) of both regular and adult movies, in case you’re interested. There are NO windows anywhere in your cabin, so it’s easy to lose track of time. We turned off our phones and tuned out the world and it was the most amazing experience I’ve had with my now-husband. If you’re looking for an amazingly romantic getaway, this is the place to go. It’s 1,000 times better than places like Sybaris, and about half the cost. If you live in Northwest Indiana, this is maybe a 40 minute drive or less. Once you stay there, you get preferential booking over new guests, so that’s a perk. We will be going back there every year for our anniversary, and already have our weekend booked next year :)

Place was affordable and clean. That’s the plus side now my complaints. Place is on a guys property do u gotta knock on his front door to check in. Pool was cold/non heated and bowl shaped meaning u couldn’t walk around on a flat bottom u keep getting pulled toward the 2 ft in the center that are flat. The bed had a big air bubble in the mattress which was basically forcing us out of the bed.
