Boulders Inn & Suites

Had to work at the hospital next door for a few days so this was convenient, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. Folks were so incredibly friendly and went out of their way to do anything you asked. Room was spotless. There’s a treadmill and elliptical, but also a flat screen TV, bottles of water, and towels in the room.
I’m only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for the breakfast and the Keurig! Eggs and sausage patties were pretty standard, but the sausage was kind of swimming in grease, so I wiped it off with napkins. There were the other standard items, including yogurt, waffle maker, juices, etc. But on the last day I was there, I took out a bagel from the bin which was moldy, and so was the one under that. Not a biggie, and it happens. I made 2 cups of coffee in my Keurig, and both tasted burnt and like bleach.
There’s a decent restaurant just in front down the hill… not a lot of upscale choices in this town, but the food and service were pretty good.

Very nice, new hotel and probably the best in the Denison area. I’ve stayed here twice now and was very pleased both times.
ROOMS:
Fairly good sized, spacious rooms. New, tasteful carpet. Nice flatscreen TVs. Shower and bathroom were pretty good. All linens were new, clean, and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable also. And the drapes block out all light perfectly. I slept great in this room. Many of the rooms also have walk out patios that overlook a nice golf course– great view and very relaxing.
SERVICE:
The staff seemed nice and pretty helpful. Although I never had any major issues or reasons to have to work with the hotel staff. Rooms, community area, and breakfast bar were always clean and well maintained.
COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST:
Boulders had a pretty good complimentary breakfast. It’s not an embassy suites breakfast, but it’s certainly better than most chain hotel breakfasts. There were plenty of pastries, breads, cereals, juices, coffee, and a few hot food choice items.
If you are in Denison Iowa for whatever reason, make sure you stay here. It’s your best bet at a great night sleep that’s comfortable, convenient, and clean.
