Cool stone tower. Excellent views of the bay and lake. Wonderful excursion on a bright, clear day. The tower is all stone with an internal spiral staircase. It is not overly tall, so people afraid of heights should be alright. Plenty of parking and even a nice view from below the tower. It is really cool, but there is not a need to spend hours there.

Scargo Tower. Another one of the many place to see down the Cape. This should be towards the top of the list, as it doesn’t need much time and is a great historical sight, free of charge. Just drive up the bumpy old hil and walk up the creaky, old stairwell to the top and check out the view. That simple, that easy. Such a great tower, and such great views from it. Highly recommended.

Towers gales and fires The Scargo Tower is about 30 feet tall and was constructed of local fields stones in 1901. It is actually the third tower to stand in this location. The first two were made out of wood and one burned down while the other got blown away in a storm. Even thought the tower is only 30 feet high it offers some cool views because it sits on one of the highest hills on Cape Cod. If the view is clear you can see out to Provincetown in one direction and the Sagamore Bridge in the other. The tower is an easy climb to the top but the cool spiral staircase can be slippery when wet and there are a couple of spots where it’s easy to whomp your head. The nice part is that the tower is free and you can just walk up by yourself without any ranger looking over your shoulder. A cool little tower located on a cool little hill. A nice place to get a bit of history along with some very nice views.

This is a great place for awesome views of the bay and the ocean. There is parking and the hike up the stairs is easy for pretty much anyone that can walk unassisted. It’s well marked and FREE! If you’re in the area, worth stopping by for on a clear day.

A nice little detour on your way down the cape. It’s a little hard to find… Don’t rely on your gps to get you there! Beautiful views are well worth the little detour.

Our GPS on the car as well as the iPhone Map had problem finding this place. For some reasons, they led us to the nearby cemetery. After circling around for 10 mins, we were able to find our way to the tower — and it was worth all the trouble. It was a small /short tower but yet gave us a great view around the area(as it was on top of the hill). I would recommend a visit if you are in Cape Cod.

Certainly worth stopping here if you are in the area, there are great views from this 30-foot tower at the top of a hill near Scargo Lake. From the tower, you can see almost all of Cape Cod from on the bay side, including Provincetown. It is the 3rd tower on this site, the others were destroyed by, respectively a storm and fire. Free parking, tower itself has a 38 step circular stair, so is not handicapped accessible.

A brick tower is not known for its structure but has a fantastic view. It is located on top of the 160-foot Scargo Hill in Dennis(the highest point on the Cape), a clear day permits tourists views of Provincetown Monument to the west and mainland Massachusetts to the east. In clear weather condition tourists can see Scargo Lake, which was named after a Native American princess. Couples may find it romantic for sunsets and sitting in a car holding hands until dusk.

There were no treasure chest at the top of the tower but it was an awesome view. I’m not too sure about the sunrise watching but it was a beautiful view for the sunset(at least in September). Not much here except the nice view and a few photo shots. My wife and I made a last minute decision to stop on our way home because we were in the area for ice cream and literally made it in time by under a minute.
