Went here last night w husband and some friends before a fundraiser we were going to. We have been here several times and it’s kinda been a hit or miss. Last time I got a salad that was awesome. Last night it was crowded and service was very slow. All of our food came out cold and well, was just ok. A bit pricy for the small amounts you get. The reason they get three stars is definitely for the atmosphere. It’s a locals place and usually has pretty good entertainment. If you’re looking for a great meal don’t go here. If you’re looking for a good time w friends and some beers this is the place to go, if in the area. Went back for lunch not impressed I really hope the food improves because I really like the atmosphere and that it is close and convenient

Kind of bummed that we finally get a tap house and the staff seems to have no knowledge of beers on tap or special brews. Also, most of the beer they had on their list they did not have as the list was old. Old indeed, summer brews were still on there and this was two days before Christmas. This being said, I had the best salmon salad there. Shrimp kids meals are jumbo shrimp, not small popcorn. Staff is really kind, they just all seem kind of confused. I am not sure if there is high turnover or not, I’ve been three times and never can remember if I had seen any of the staff before. We also had fish and chips there, really good, but Market Street Pub has them beat on that dish. If they would get the beers straight and get some good seasonal brews and some more diverse local brews it would be awesome.

YIKES! Was not impressed in any way shape or form. I MAY come back after our experience but ONLY if the Marker Street Public House is closed. We stopped in for breakfast on Sunday(as the sign says along 404, Sunday breakfast 7:00am) We walk in at 7:30, its dead but the music is BLASTING. One lady tells a little girl to go turn it down and she scampers off to the back to turn it off. The first hostess seats us and says«its great you guys are in, its usually dead in the morning, we’ve been open since 6:30» — So you’re telling me that they open an hour before their giant banner says they open… strange? Over the course of the meal no less than 5 people came to take care of us. Which would be fine… if any of them were good at their jobs. But I digress… The menus were given to us, they are dinner menus. We wait… We ask for breakfast menus. She returns… Prices are high(especially for the quality but we will get to that later). She takes drink orders and disappears. She comes back with too many coffees and tries to take our order but see seemed so unfamiliar with the menu it was unbearable. So many issues while taking our order. example, «comes with choice of toast» in on the menu, we are told, we only have white toast. She then says wait and runs to the back. She comes back with oh, we have rye too… and English muffins. Okay that is fine. We finally get through the order, and she comes back to the table no less than 5 times, to confirm parts of our order. DId you want dry toast? Were those eggs scrambled? You wanted ham, right? Rye Toast? Come on, I thought she wrote down our order but goodness sake I guess she was doodling pictures of the food — I’m not sure. The food takes forever to come out and once it does come out, its staggered that the 6 people in our party didn’t get food within 5 minutes of each other. Eggs are cold, the sausage was full of sage… they only flavor it had, the toast isn’t rye, its marbled rye, and its cut texas style, not the biggest deal in the world but just be clear with what you are serving. Gravy was bland, the staff stood uncomfortably close to us while reaching for things and not moving to grab them, a girl of 10 years old served drinks(spilling as she walked). About halfway through the meal i guess they decided we needed some music to set the mood so they put it back on but once again it was BLASTING for about 25 seconds until the person who put it on, walked out to the dining room, noticed her ear drums were bleeding and went back to take it off of 11. Just so many things missed the mark. During our meal only one other couple came in so the 4 different people that brought us food and drinks only had 8 people to take care of in the whole restaurant yet we sat several times with empty drinks and waited to be taken care of for different issues. While we were still seated waiting for the bill the bus boy came over to clear the table where I sat right next to where he stood while he used his bare hands to grab half eaten food off a plate and put it onto another place. WEIRD. I don’t know why I thought a bar that serves breakfast ONCE A WEEK would have decent food but I was sorely mistaken. Also what do they do with the uncooked food until the next Sunday breakfast… Yikes, I’d rather not think about that. If they were trying to increase exposure to more people in the area or make a little more profit since breakfast foods are cheaper, they need to put more effort into it. By the looks of things, its just turning people off of ever coming back. What a bizarre experience.

I was hoping this place would be better. The atmosphere is great, and the staff very friendly. However there must be some serious issues in the kitchen. I have been here three times now, and every time they end up over cooking the fried foods. I’m not talking about a little over done either. This time my calamari was as crispy as a pretzel stick, and rubbery inside. My fries were so dark you could tell right away they were overdone. I’d have never served them personally. I’ve had an okay salad from here, as well as am ok burger. Nothing special though. Staff is great, food is junk.

My wife and I were really surprised at how good the burgers were, the cheese steak egg rolls were really good too. It only loses a star due to kinda slow service.

1st and last visit for this place. I buy a beer for $ 2 and get a 10 oz beer. Pretzel appetizer had the worst tasting cheese dip. Build your own burger came to the table with a cold bun. The waitress told us she generally doesn’t wait tables. So much for that tip. Next time I’m going to the Pub in town.

Stopped in to try the new Tap House tonight for dinner on Veterans Day with my family. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great. The prime rib was awesome and my wife and kids loved their burgers and fries. The only criticism I have about this place is that the oysters were average at best. We will definitely be returning to the Tap House. My wife and I are looking forward to trying the Taco Tuesday night I just saw on Facebook.

Plus one star for the service. Menus dirty which is about the easiest thing to do or you could stand at the register and play with your phone instead. I had two apps and two beers. Service was ok to good. $ 35 plus tip for two apps and two draft beers. On the high side but then again I don’t drink Bud Light like most here. Calamari was a bit soggy when brought out I separated the pieces a bit and they dried out enough to eat. Decent marinara to dip them in and not over salted which was nice. Half dozen oysters on the half shell which came out in less than a minute telling me they were preshucked and stuck in the cooler. Yep dried up and small as hell about half of a decent sized oyster. The horseradish sauce had an undetectable amount of horseradish in it and just tasted like ketchup. Good ketchup at least. Menu is wordsmithed to seem like it is all artisan and fresh but at then end of the day it is average normal barfood. Note — according to what i overheard the staff saying apparently on Thursday you can get the crappy oysters for 50 cents each making my $ 11 half dozen for $ 3 on said special day. Isn’t that special. Tammy or Jen depending on whether you belive the sign or the people at the bar, was efficient. Taking care of the regulars over the business traveler which is very understandable in this small town. Given the circumstances I’d give her an 8 on a 10 scale. OK just took a star off(was two stars) as I just witnessed a girl behind the bar(not Jen or whatever her name is) changing channels on one of the tvs sneeze directly into the beer taps. Thank goodness I only have to come here once a year or so.

Nothing BAD to say about this place at all! Its a bar and a fun one, the food was good and the salads are huge. My wifes chicken salad had a relish on it that she though slightly off but I ate it up. I had the Mahi mahi, it was a small piece, a little bland, served with mashed potatoes and awesome green beans. Prices are reasonable and the menu was large. What really sticks out is the bar, nice and wide, brand new and big! The décor is AWESOME, really fun. If you are looking for decent food but a great atmosphere, check it out. Denton needed something like this.
