The meat’s alright. The prices are one tick below pricey for a local cutter(seen much worse). The reason I will never spend my money here again is the woman running the place is an outright witch of a customer service type. As in malignantly rude. Sour milk. Not nice at all. Anybody wonder why a home-owned butcher place like this one isn’t packed out on a Saturday? Now I don’t.

Love this meat market. The meat is fresh and the owners are nice. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of meat you get. I have yet to get a full meat order, but I plan to do so soon and the prices makes shopping for a family of all males very affordable. I highly recommend this place.

This place looks really unassuming from the outside but you’ll be happy you went in. The people working here are so nice, it feels like you’re way out in the country where people actually want to make personal connections and have a good chat. I guess technically it’s WAY out in the country if you tell any friends in Plano or Irving that you live in Denton. They have lot’s of good meats at a very good prices. I ended up buying thick sirloin steaks at $ 8.99 which I thought was a good price. They turned out great and had just enough fat to give it good flavor. If you’re fitness crazy you can always cut off the fat. We will definitely be back here.

Don’t be fooled by the outside. The building may be old the meat is an awesome quality at a really good price. They have weekly specials which are great. Their pear butter is amazing and homemade! They also help you find which cut of meat would best fit your situation if you tell them you’re not sure what kind of meat you’re wanting.

I love Dan’s. They have fantastic specials. They sell higher quality product for a better price than the supermarkets. They’re extraordinarily knowledgeable. Hatice is an encyclopedia of cooking knowledge. I try to do as much of my meat shopping here as possible.

First time visit today and all I can say is I loved it! Feels like the Denton I’ve come to love. I really like keeping my money local if I can, and this is definitely where I’m going for my fresh meats from now on. The ham hocks I got there were awesome and the price was perfect.

Best butcher and meat selection in Denton, hands down! Buy all my gumbo and jambalaya supplies here, top-grade meats. Highly recommended.

My best friend was traveling in from uptown and wanted to bring some meat. I told him to try the filets that my butcher had and then if he wanted to next time bring his $ 25lb meat. Now he drives from down town Dallas to get Dan’s. They take pride and their homemade Jams and Jellies are all from their personal orchard. Try it at least once, keep an open mind, and keep it local. They really take pride and their prices are unbelievable for the quality. Try it for your next dinner party.

I love his place. The quality of meat is incredible, and they always have these giant avocados available by the counter. If you have ANY questions about how to cook something, they will gladly keep you in the know. I’ve done dinner parties for under $ 20 here. Birthday steak dinners. Pork chops for no good reason other than they were the best pork chops I’ve ever had. The couple who run the place are super nice, smart people– it is a joy to visit with them. They always have a cool story about what is happening at the farm or a joke to share. This is the kind of place I think of when I think about how special Denton, TX is.

I will get meat here when they have something on special that I am looking for, but their prices are a bit high for the quality(compared to other butchers and not the supermarket). Given the cleanliness of the location both inside and out, I do also wonder about the conditions being sanitary. My other issue is that you constantly get attitude from the woman who waits on you. If you ask any questions instead of just telling her what you want to buy, you get very short answers as if you are wasting her time(either in person or on the phone). I recently called and asked if they sold country style beef ribs. The answer I got was«There’s no such thing. There are country style pork ribs.» When I explained to her that they were cut from a chuck eye roll, I was told«We’re not going to do that. We would be wasting a chuck roll.» She then hung up as I was trying to say thank you and ask a follow-up question. Perhaps she should have asked me whether I would be willing to buy a roll and have them cut from it. The answer was yes, BTW. Not exactly the same area of town, but I will stick with Hirsch’s in Plano where you are not considered a bother if you actually think that a butcher shop should offer more expertise than your supermarket.

If there’s a better butcher in the area, I’d like to know. You’ll probably drive by its unassuming premises the first time, but it’s worth a second go ’round. Fresh, juicy meat cut to order, and best of all for my wife and I you can get unbrined meats and poultry(meaning they have less salt), which can be very hard to find in Kroger and Albertsons. Add the friendly, personal service and reasonable prices and I couldn’t ask for better.

Got Meat… This is where I bought all my meat when I was in the Metroplex. They have very nice cuts of meat and the price is lower than most of the places in the metro.
