Natural Grocers

Only get to come here when visiting my daughter in college, but its always the same. Sometimes you can catch their clearance stuff which makes it a lot cheaper. I wish I could go complete organic but just not enough stores close by, but when I am in this area, its a good go to natural place to get what you need.

This is our go-​to grocery store. We love it! They have lots of organic veggies and fruit and good prices. Great selection and quality of produce. The frozen section has a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. They have the best selection of meat-​substitutes in the area.
Their bulk section is great and good prices. Tons of vitamins. Large selection of kombucha and coconut water! They have almost everything that we ever need.
The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They do not have bags so bring your own or they have boxes to use.
Natural grocers is very ‘Denton’ and we love shopping there.

They didn’t have any vegetarian chicken nuggets– just the chicken tenders so I decided to get an Army’s dinner but it was highly over priced. It was about a dollar more than The Cupboard.
After a trip to NG, I have become a Cupboard customer for life.

Worst possible customer service for today, 9÷24÷15. I don’t know if the guy up front is having a bad day or if he’s just very shy, but when I worked as a cashier it was customary and even expected of us by our employers to at least greet the customers and ask if they found everything they needed. (I’ve actually ended up buying items that I wouldn’t have because I wasn’t able to find them due to this practice.) The sales associates were wonderful and very friendly. I’m not expecting any special treatment or anything. However, a little courtesy goes a long way. Thank you.
That being said there is a wonderful variety of foods here and a much more expansive personal hygiene section. I’m finally able to accurately layer the fragrances of my shower and moisturizing products without having to drive all the way out to Whole Foods, so thank you for that.

I do like this place, but am always disappointed in the produce selection. It smells like they have tons of fresh yummy fruits and veggies as you walk in, but I never find what I am looking for. Also, it’s overkill on the supplements area… really, just eat right, you don’t need those. :-)

The selection is probably the best in Denton when it comes to organic produce and having a variety.
Their prices are high but still better than the Cupboard.
The people who work here make it very apparent they love their jobs and very helpful if you have questions.
This is my go to place when I’m visiting family in Texas for my Vegan needs.

This place is alright, but I have to say I am SO TIRED of the turkey video. I can’t stand being forced to watch a video every single time I enter and leave the store about «humane» turkey slaughter the whole month of October and November. Humane meat doesn’t exist. I love the organic and vegan options here, but things like this makes me hesitant to even visit this store, especially since the blatant promotion of the paleo diet as superior is so prevalent. Having the video placed by the dairy section last year was annoying enough, but at least I could try to avoid it if I wanted to. Thanks for offering a few options for us at least. I miss Denton’s vegan grocery.

I was SOOOO happy when Natural Grocers came to town, and now I can’t imagine living in Denton without it! Amazing selection, great prices, helpful staff, and an all-​around pleasant place to shop. I especially like how committed the company is to its organic and free-​range standards. I used to dread going grocery shopping, but now it always seems to put me in a good mood. Now I only dread it on those very rare occasions when I still have to step into Kroger.

A beautiful Natural Grocers! I’m from Colorado where they originated, and have been to many Natural Grocers, and I love them all. I especially loved this one, though!
I cannot typically find fresh, organic, raw food when I am in Texas — or restaurants serving this kind of food. When I was told of this Natural Grocers in Denton I was SO grateful and excited. I was pleased to see a really large and beautiful produce selection, where I could stock up on the things I needed to make it through my stay in Texas.
Natural Grocers is an honest company offering clean, organic, beautiful food and products at a reasonable rate. They tend to be lower in cost than Whole Foods, for example, and their vision and message is much more authentic and proactive, as well.
Cannot recommend Natural Grocers enough. I’m glad they are branching out of Colorado, and if you haven’t tried them out yet, get in there!

We had a hard time finding non-​chemical sun cream for my son. Looked all over, and finally found the cream at Natural Grocers. Price was decent, considering it is a specialized product. Staff was helpful at pointing us to the right area, which always helps in a new store.

We have been shopping here off and on for about a year. I appreciate the great organic produce, although I do wish they had more. The produce over all seems fresh. We don’t buy any processed foods, but I will say they have loads of it.

There are a few items here that we can’t find as easily or regularly anywhere else in town, so thank you for moving to our neighborhood and making things simpler! Only down a star for closing so early — can really only make it on weekends.

Love the fresh organic produce and all the choices of natural products. Its clean and the staff are really helpful.

I love getting my fresh and organic produce from here. It’s cheaper than Whole Foods or Central Market. The employees are friendly and knowledgable and definitely not your typical snob that you may find at other natural grocery stores. I find a lot of great sales whenever I go which ends up me spending a lot of money but I’m glad! I also like the fact that it’s smaller so I can get around quicker. The vast selection of the vitamin section blows everybody out of the water and most of my beauty products come from here if not online. By far my favorite and it is number one on my list of favorite grocery stores.

I love finding places where employees make me feel welcomed. From the obviously drugged out cashier to the overly enthusiastic floor manager, Natural Grocers has some of the friendliest staff around. It definitely beats shopping at some of the larger grocery chains and definitely has made our weekend grocery trips much more pleasant.
I used to shop at The Cupboard, another natural food spot in Denton, but their prices way outmatched what I felt I was getting. When shopping at Natural Grocers, I don’t feel like I’m being gouged just because I want to eat healthy. I know that this is not entirely The Cupboard’s fault; they have to make ends meet as a small grocer. However, I’m not in a spot where I can pay too much. The prices are mostly right at Natural Grocer and the produce is of a very high quality.
The store also has a great selection of organic and natural food items. My girlfriend and I are currently obsessed with the cornmeal pizza crusts. You get two in a pack and they make for a delicious pizza for two! The lunch meat and meat in general is a bit on the pricey side, so if you’re on a budget, you may want to get your proteins elsewhere.
Natural Grocer’s is definitely a welcome sight in Denton and has been a great place to get our weekend shopping done without the hectic feeling I get from bigger grocery chains.

Finally got to try out Natural Grocers. I was a little let down when I learned it was a chain, but whatever… if they’ve got it, they’ve got it.
I visited with the intention of buying some fresh, organic produce for juicing… and of course ended up walking every inch of the store in search of tasty treats and healthier snacks. I wasn’t too amazed with size of their produce section, but what they lacked in size they made up in variety and freshness with plenty of organic items to choose from. Decent pricing on some things, sky high on others. Not near as affordable as Sprouts produce, but a hell of a lot more options than the Cupboard.
Overall, good experience and I’ll be back. I went on a weekday evening, but am hoping to see what all goes down in the kitchen demonstration area in the back of the store on my next visit. I wasn’t blown away by their selection, but it’s a great start and pretty damn convenient for most grocery needs.

Be afraid, The Cupboard. Be very afraid.

I went on their first day open, and I was THRILLED. They have fantastic prices, an incredible selection of natural and organic food items, a great supplements and cosmetics section, and really nice employees. This is exactly what Denton has needed! I grew up with the health food industry as my family’s business, so I have real knowledge about what a good store needs to have, how their employees should behave and be trained, and what their prices should be. Natural Grocers is miles ahead of the other store that has had a virtual monopoly in Denton. I am thrilled that there is finally some competition in this town. This is my new primary grocery store. HUZZAH!!!

Yesterday (Jan. 22^nd) Natural Grocers opened up in Denton and Yes, the parking lot was full, as was CVS’ parking lot next door. What do you expect, it’s a new place and Dentonites are a curious people.
First off, it’s a health food grocery store, so lots of organic fruits and veggies, soy this and tofu that and vitamins, lotions and remedys as far as the eyes can see, if you have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision. Besides that they have your standard fare with ready to eat meals including vegetarian, gluten-​free, vegan and raw, healthy beverages, buffalo meat, Bavarian yogurt, pickles, everything Annie’s Organic makes, soy ice cream and bacon!
As with most groceries of this nature the prices are a little steeper but some were basically the same as your Target or Krogers and a few items even lower. Haas avocados were only .79, and the spices come in plastic bags so they were also quite a bit cheaper. And they had some spices that you don’t find in large grocery stores too. Cardamom and fenugreek were just two of the rarer ones. Nuts were kept in the cooler (insert double entandre here) and you can get rolled oats in bags the size of dog food bags, if you really need it.
In the back of the store there is a demonstration kitchen and there were people out with samples all over the place. The staff was very friendly and always offering assitance. I believe this will be a welcome addition to Denton, but also competition to the Cupboard, the other health food store in Denton, but as Denton expands, there’s always room for one more.
