Mike took over as property manager halfway through our lease. He tried to keep our entire deposit for carpet damage. The damage occurred after we moved out when a neighbor’s hot water heater broke. He also did not provide documentation stating the reason for withholding the deposit within the required time frame according to TX state law. We were forced to pursue the matter in court to finally collect our deposit. As far as taking care of us while he was our landlord, he was nearly 100% absent. It was a miserable experience.
