Staff is nice but not always competent. Had lots of issues trying to schedule a party. Didn’t get a phone call returned and the main person was never available for questions. Regular staff doesn’t make decisions, so you get vague answers that you are told might be overruled. My reservation was mishandled. Lots of confusion. Much better experience at the other center we used.

I have been going to this gym for over 4 years now and I can say that it has everything I need! The classes are great AND they have the cheapest childcare! They have childcare in the mornings and after work, so there is no excuse! Fees are $ 2 for first child and $ 1 for each additional child. It is only for a two hour time frame, but most of the classes fall into those two hours. LOVE Alicia, Chris, and Ana! They will push your limits, which is what all of us need to do to change our bodies! New class is coming up soon — GRIT! I can’t wait! They have done a couple of demo classes and it is a whole new ballgame for you body:)

Started going to this gym because its literally 2 mins from my house. I have never been to a «real» gym like LA fitness because of the high prices. Especially since with my work schedule some weeks I only get to the gym twice. You cant beat North Lakes pricing. $ 40 for 3 months! As far as I can tell they have nice equipment, surely enough to get the job done. Every time I go there aren’t too many people and you don’t get judged because of what you’re wearing or what your body type is. Friendly staff, always willing to answer any questions. Im not sure about the classes they offer but from what I see and hear they are pretty great. I think once a year you can try the classes for free. I also don’t have kids so im not sure about the child care, just know that they offer it. If you’re a beginner like me they have free classes on Tuesday night where they show you how to properly use the equipment. If you’re looking for a laid back gym where you want to get in shape and not have hoity-toity people look at you, this is the place! And honestly you cannot beat the price!

I’m anything but a «gym rat.» In fact, the first time I intentionally went to a gym was back in April and I just about had a breakdown talking myself out of my car and into North Lakes. I was that skinny kid growing up that could eat anything and everything… until I hit my 20s and discovered beer. Let myself go for a few years and finally hit that point where I realized I needed to make a long-term change in my life and start getting healthier. I live close to North Lakes gym, so it seemed to be the perfect fit for my start in the right direction… and it’s a hell of a lot less daunting then LA Fitness for someone that doesn’t look so hot in work out clothes and sweats like a pig. North Lakes is a bit older and I’m sure lacks some of the bells and whistles that you’ll find at the new fad of super gyms, but it’s perfectly functional and seems to have all the basics. I personally only attend the Les Mills group exercise classes that they offer, but the rooms with the machines and weights seem to be adequate and frequently used. I’ve also never worked with a personal trainer one-on-one, but have attended classes led by those instructors and have been thoroughly impressed. The people working there are really what makes this gym. Alisha(the lead trainer) is absolutely AMAZING. I’ve taken a Cycle Yoga(yes– it’s a real thing!) with her, BodyFlow(yoga/pilates/tai chi), BodyCombat(Cardio karate/boxing/taekwondo/muay tai), and BodyPump(weights). She’s always full of energy and enthusiasm, but not in an over-the-top perky type way. She definitely pushes you to your limit, but is always supportive and you feel awesome after it’s done… and maybe a little sore. :) She somehow makes each work out fit for every different skill level and offers lots of alternatives if needed. I’ve also attended classes with Justin, Tabitha, and Cayla… and everyone is amazing and unique in their own way. Justin’s pretty dang entertaining. Bite the bullet and try it– the classes are cheap with a $ 5.00 drop in per class fee. The monthly rates are only $ 36 for group exercise and unlimited gym membership and gym membership alone is only $ 20 monthly. Pricing gets even lower when you pundle 3 months or a year. Keep your eyes out for group exercise launch weeks… free drop ins when they introduce new material every few months! Side note: I don’t have a kid, so I’m not familiar with their child care, kids camps, or afterschool programs… but I’m pretty sure they do a ton with that, too. Check the website or call.
