Think Subway, but better in every way. The quality of ingredients is higher, there are more topping options, the atmosphere is nicer, and the taste is better– all for the same price. This is by far my favorite place to stop in between classes at UNT because it’s fast, healthy, affordable, and tasty. The coffee bar is a nice touch as well. Gotta get some caffeine before a long lecture.

Not that good at all. Not even good at 2 am when your drunk. Tastes like cold cuts and tortillas. Only tried it once but would maybe try again because maybe I ordered wrong? There must be a reason why this place is still open

Being from the North, I rarely see Pita Pits, only when i travel down south. Combo meals are a great price for what you get, drink, pita and side. I’ve been multiple times, and enjoyed both the Chicken Caesar pita and the Ultimate Greek(House Special) pita. The Chicken Caesar is like a caesar salad with some bacon added for good measure, and all the flavors just pair so well together. And the pita itself is almost as large as a Chipotle burrito, so it’s hefty and filling. The Ultimate Greek was a combo of the Gyro and the Chicken Soulvaki, again delicious with the tzatziki sauce melding the flavors together. I wholehearted recommend both of these pitas. This location has one of those fancy Coke mixers, where you choose a base soda and can then add in any of the syrups to make your own flavor. Service has been positive all times, making for a relaxing and satisfying experience. And they have a rewards program through Square, where you get $ 7 after 10 purchases.

I ordered the Gyro with a drink and chips under $ 10. Tastes great. Choose your meat and veggies and they cook it right in front of you. Customer service is great. I heard about this place through a friend and had to check it out. They even have the newer Coke fountain drink machine with tons of flavors to choose from.

I came after lunch hour and I told the cashier it was my first time and she was happy to inform me on how the restaurant was set up. The pita was delicious, cold yet hot, the 10% student discount made it even better! I read some people wrote about the veggies being brown, well not today, they all looked fresh. Fast and healthy, wouldn’t have it any other way!

After reading all the reviews, I was hesitant to eat here, but I finally decided to. I really liked it! I came here in between my classes and got my food fast. It was good. The area to eat inside was nice and there were many other people just eating and sitting there. I’m not sure how it would be when they were super busy, but I am very happy with my gyro pita and will definitely be coming back to try different pitas!

Pita was absolutely AMAZING but the service was TERRIBLE! The guy was extremely rude and made us feel uncomfortable. He was acting as if we were an inconvenience or a bother to him while he was making our food. He had an awful attitude. Also, the drink machine was completely out of every thing and he did not warn us prior to purchasing the drink. But, the pita was amazing and that’s the only reason I will go back!

If it says you close at 3, don’t be closed at 1! No worries, complained to corporate so I doubt y’all will make that mistake again. :) thankfully jimmy johns is next door and they were open and happy to feed me!

Been here twice and both times have been really good! Sad they don’t have klamata olives though. Service is really fast and price is reasonable

Trash. First off, theyre always out of half of the menu items, and not because they run out, but because they never restock. They discontinued delivery there months ago, but still keep the option up on their site. Do yourself a favor and stop by crooked crust or Jimmy Johns over this place.

I would never go to this place sober, but that’s how they get you! You’re starving at 2AM and a pita sounds so good. And a pita is so good, but these are overpriced. But still, you’ll wake up the next day and be like«How did I spend more on pitas than drinks last night?! Oh. I went to friggin Pita Pit.»

The menu sounds amazing and feels exactly like a subway in the way it’s setup, that is until you take a look at the quality of the vegetables. This is where I can’t give an inch. Vegetables that are wilted, brown, or expired are not something a «fresh» restaurant should be serving. Cold pitas around $ 7 each need to have a little more pizazz than this place. I ordered a turkey pita on spinach pita bread with vegetables all the way. If you load the pita with dressing, it tastes alright. I’m not a fan of places that serve cold mediocre ingredients. There’s too many other good places around to have to «dress up» your meal with loads of sauce to make it edible.

Choosing this place was a grave mistake… To the dude that said it’s hard to screw up a gyro… you were wrong. You were so wrong. Or maybe you were right in the fact that somehow, someway, they found the way to screw it up. I’ve never had a worse tasting gyro in my life. I normally love tzatziki. This didn’t taste like tzatziki. It tasted like feet or a sweaty armpit. Probably spoiled. On top of the awful food, the staff seemed grumpy and aggressive. Not going back.

As far as «fast food» options are concerned, Pita Pit is pretty top-notch. Maybe a bit on the pricey side, but their portions are relatively generous. Moreover, it’s hard to find food that’s both healthy and on the quick side. I recommend trying one of their salads; you won’t be let down. They just need to stay open until their posted hours on weekends.

I’ve been to Pita Pit four times on the weekend after their posted opening hours and no one was there and the lights were not on. I’m not asking for much by asking them to be OPEN when they say they will. I love the food & when I want a pita, I want a pita! It’s just no way to run a business. May I add I love their pitas?

It has good food, but if you have ever been to other pita pits, then you know that the portions here are small compared to the rest. Other than that, if you do like Pita Pit, it’s the closet one around UNT.

Yuck. What a huge disappointment after the amazing experience my husband and I had at the Pita Pit in Norman, OK. We had been craving that delicious falafel pita with hummus since we left Norman, but now I won’t want to even smell a falafel for a few months. The falafels were overcooked and HARD, where I was worried they were actually stale. The veggies were wilted and there weren’t many options. The place SMELLED terrible, like sewage… not sure if that’s a thing in the Denton downtown area with the smell, but good christ… not appetizing. The staff people were really nice, so I feel bad even writing this, but it’s just not good food.

Pita Pit is really great when you’re on the go and want to eat something that isn’t a greasy pizza or burger. It’s healthy when you want it, and how you want it. It’s definitely better than Subway! Try everything, it’s all good.

Sitting in between the late night bars, the Crooked Crust and even a Jimmy John’s sits the Pita Pit. Right there on Fry Street for all the UNT students to find. And it wasn’t even a student who told me about the place, but a friend of mine who works at a nearby doctor’s office. One of the earlier reviews said it best, «The Subway of pita places» There are many choices and plenty for the«vegetabletarian». Falafel, Hummus, and plenty of veggies. Of course I am not one so I went with the simple Gyro. Can one ever do a Gyro wrong? Well not really, but tradionally your lamb comes off of meat from a large spit, not so much preformed strips of lamb and beef. That was the only negative. The veggies were crisp, the tzatziki was fresh and creamy and I like a little heat, so some pepperoncinis were added into the mix with the black olives and the romaine lettuce was truly fresh. The place is smalllllllllll, so you mostly want to get in and out and onto Riprocks, Fry St. Tavern or wherever your destination might be. Enjoy.

In very basic terms: A Hippie Subway. That said, you get to get your pita(pick white or wheat), choice of meat, vegetables, sauces, cheese, and other toppings made at your whim in front of you, a la Subway. Pretty basic concept. Except, you know, you have the option of putting pineapples, feta cheese, humus, tsatsiki sauce, and alfalfa on it. And all at once, if you so desire. My usual order: wheat pita, lamb, lettuce, cucumbers, feta cheese, alfalfa, tsatsiki sauce, onions, and banana peppers. The first time, the pita dude made it perfect. The second time(a year later), the pita dude put it in a 3:1 Lettuce to Everything Else ratio. Maybe my UTA sweatshirt offended him, idk. But still? A sandwich made with lamb fresh off the grill? And it’s midnight? AND I get to people watch the drunks? Dude, I think I can take a little extra lettuce. I’m still imagining that tightly rolled pita and how hot it was in my hands. Mm. A short walk off the UNT campus and the Fry Street crawl. The place gets pretty tight and can only seat saaaay ten people comfortably. I don’t even know why Jimmy John’s exists next door. They’ll never know my face. My Friend the Artist and my dinner: 2 pitas 1 bag ‘o chips(Sea Salt and Vinegar) 2 drinks(Note: They have that tea dispenser with the Unsweetened Black, Sweetened Green, and Southern Style Iced Teas options! Yes I think that’s amazing, yes I luuurve tea, and YES I do excite easily). Total: $ 16 something. Eep. A little steep– gets me every time– but you get what you pay for. And that’s $ 16 bucks to not eat at the Jack in the Box across the street. Sorry, JIB. Not that drunk yet.
