It’s hard for me to recommend this dive bar. We found the brews to be overpriced(especially for domestic bottles) and the wait for our drinks was way too long for the crowd that was there. It certainly isn’t the worst place you could find yourself on a Monday, but there aren’t too many things about Ringers that I found appealing. There are better bars around town with better drink specials.

Ringers is a great, quiet bar. The only two issues are: 1. For Denton, the beer list is horrible. Not only is it crap, but it’s overpriced as well. 2. While the local flavor is a nice touch, it’s not so nice when one of them leaves his dog, Charlie, outside in extreme weather for long periods of time which causes the dog to BITEPEOPLE(me for example).. . I would have liked to become a regular at Ringers if for any other reasons than it is within walking distance yet so far removed from the college scene.. .but I would like my bouncers to check my id, not draw blood from my new future scabs.

Ringers is by far the best dive bar in Denton. Stop in and say hi to the owner, Calvin. Also the regulars like Lou-Lou, Casey, Cowboy, Wayne, and others. Beer’s cheap and cold, drinks are strong and delicious. Don’t miss out on a special little part of Denton.
