The Parker House

DO NOT go to the Parker House, ESPECIALLY when it has been raining! I am so upset at the customer service! The workers guided us to our parking area towards the entrance of haunt and it was all muddy. They told us to make sure we don’t stop so we don’t get stuck. Well, we didn’t stop, and we still got stuck in the mud and the workers had no concern at all. They left us stuck to get out by ourselves. We saw them use a designated Parker House SUV to pull a truck out of the mud who was also stuck upon our arrival and we asked them to help pull us out too (we had a hitch on the car as well). They said they had to get traffic out of the streets. Understandable, but at least one out of the three men could have helped pull our car out. We tried using plywood under our tires, pushing, the whole works.
At this point, I couldn’t sit in the car anymore. I walked up to the front entrance parking (where they started having everyone park due to several cars being stuck in the other lot) and again, nicely asked this gentlemen to help us. He blamed being stuck on us, when he was the one who guided us where to park and then just left us there. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
Finally, no thanks to any employees at the Parker House, we got help from others who saw that we were stuck. It took four men to help push our car out of the mud while another was driving. They were covered head to toe in mud. We obviously didn’t stay for the attraction. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

This haunted house is great! Took my kids and their friends this past weekend. Much more than we expected and way different than the others we’ve been to. I had to remind myself a few times that it wasn’t real. That sounds a bit much I know, but I think it was because of the location and the setting. It definitely added to the whole experience and made everything more believable. You can’t help but feel a little vulnerable out there. This one is well worth the time and expense. I actually read a few reviews about it lacking actors and such, but thank goodness I had a personal review from someone I know and trust, and decided to stay with this choice. I must say that I experienced live actors around every corner, and each with their own way of successfully scaring you. This haunted house and actors all blended well together and told a story. We had a great time! I Highly recommend it.

Long ticket line, once we had tickets it was another 2 hour wait. Understaffed, very few actors and the ones there were board and not engaged. Money better spent going to Hangmans in Fort Worth.

Nicely done haunt that is worth the drive. Great rooms and really good actors. Like many good haunts, they improve each year.

This is absolutely the best haunted house I’ve to ever been too and I’ve been to Haunted Houses all over the U.S. and Canada … loved it… sooo good would go again if I could have to go back to Cali soon though!!! Boo hoo

I have gone to the Parker House ever since their first year in Lewisville and loved it. Every year it feels like they try to give you something new to be creeped out about. Their newest location in Denton has the best feel of all the places they have been. It has 3 different very specific feels this year. The main house, the Sanitarium and the creepy woods. If you go through and let yourself get immersed in the ideas they are trying to create, you’re going to have a good time. If you go with the attempt to pick their reality apart and be a bad ass you’re just going to ruin it for yourself and all the people near you. That goes for any haunted house. I’m too old to go trick or treating so this is always my Halloween fun!

The cast was lacking and the distribution of scaring elements was poorly designed. First, they seemed extremely short staffed because there were long stretches during which nothing happened. There were several places I anticipated a scare and none came. Some actors lost their steam long before they pulled back from their scare. Other actors had more energy but needed more control because myself and others in my party were touched after receiving a promise at the beginning of the attraction that we would not be touched. One actor at the end of the experience charged and ran into me almost painfully (I was bringing up the rear of the group) and another leapt off of some scenery and landed almost entirely on another member of our party. The smells created in the experience were great and added a lot but the strobe lights lasted too long in a few portions of the experience, causing nausea and headaches for most of our group although none of us had ever experienced issues with flashing lights before.

I had been to the old location in Lewisville a few years back and it was all right, but I was looking forward to the new structure this year. It was really rainy last night which made the atmosphere great, but it looked like they were severely lacking in cast. It was more props than actually actors and you could tell there were spots that were suppose to have people trying to scare you that no one was in. It was not frightening at all and if they were short staffed I do not see why they would still be charging full price. It was not worth the $ 23 dollars, the only positive is that it is long, but without scares, that just made it seem tedious.

One of THE best haunts in the area! More scares, by far, than Strangling Brothers, Reindeer Manor, Thrillvania, etc. A nice, long haunt, well run without too many people going thru at once. The actors were well-​timed for screams & scares & were realistic and did a great job. The live, real rats under the floor in the one room was hair raising! The attention to detail & number of various types of scares (like the asylum) are what put this haunt over the top. We WILL be back!

This is the first haunted house I ever went to, the year it opened, so it has a soft spot in my heart. I screamed my way all the way through it and came out the other side forever in love with Haunted Houses.

eh… I always thought this was a good house from what I heard from other people, but I was disappointed.

The Parker House is a haunted house located in Denton. Their first year, I think, they were located in Lewisville– I still lived there at the time and it was awesome to have a haunt so close to home.
Looks like the Parker House folks packed up and moved north for more space, which is a good thing. The original location was behind the Golden Corral and didn’t really set a great mood.
Even with that being said, though, it was a damn good haunted house. I honestly didn’t have high hopes or know what to expect– they did a really good job. I took a couple of friends and a co-​worker with me when I went that first time, and one of them peed her pants. I won’t lie: I pointed and laughed. And it was so worth getting hit. Yeah, I’m that friend.
Anyway, I haven’t been to the Parker House since it relocated– I honestly thought it might’ve closed up shop. I’m really glad to see they moved and probably have more space to expand.
Their whole schtick is that they’re a funeral home where the daughter of the owners went nuts and started killing people. There were some bits that didn’t jive with the story line– they were clearly just there to scare you, but I’m totally okay with that.
Now that I know that Parker House IS still alive and well (pun intended?), I most definitely plan on going there this season. It was one of the New Haunts I threw into my schedule a few years ago, and it was worth it.
They’ve got the main Parker House attraction, then they added a smaller Carnival-​themed one. You can pay an extra few bucks for a VIP/​fast pass. I usually recommend doing that when haunts offer them, but when I went to Parker House (in Lewisville), it wasn’t needed. Use your best judgement!
I’m going to give Parker House 4 stars based on past experience and hope they live up to or exceed it at the Denton location. See you there!
And if you pee your pants, I’m going to laugh at you.
