Apparently this place is closed now(sad that local business, once again, is dying on Fry st). However, i can easily embrace Juliet’s Jewels over this place anyday, Juliet isn’t a creepy old man: D UPDATE!!! THISLOCATIONISNOW A COFFEESHOP! It is called Big Mike’s Coffee Shop and is ran by the same guy as Voyager’s Dream was ran by. They carry a coffee by the same roaster that THEHYDRANT carries Coffee Eisland. Go to the Hydrant. They are better. Hands down.

i heard this place closed at the end of the year. anyone know if that’s true? now, i’m not trying to be a bitch or anything, but the only thing voyager’s had going for it was the simple fact that it was a local, independently owned business. i mean, unless you’re the ren fair type. and if so, i apologize. sometimes i wondered how the owner made enough money selling sarongs and incense to stay open for as long as he did. oh, the owner’s ‘death car’ outside documenting the deaths in the iraq war was interesting, but you didn’t have to go inside to see that. it’s parked at the corner of fry and hickory every day. now, i will say that the owner is notorious for soliciting free massages to pretty girls, and there was a not-so-nice rumor about his behavior at a certain play on campus… but i won’t get into details, because it’s hearsay. but still, this guy is either really nice or really creepy.

I love Denton. After all, I did spend 5 years and my father’s pennies there. This place is total hippie, so automatically the people that work there(whether it be for money or peace) are very friendly. I’ve heard people have strange experiences there, but I have yet to see any. Voyagers Dream sells all kinds of stuff, from musical instruments to liberal themed buttons to weird peace-inspired clothing. They are one of few surviving businesses with all the Fry St. demolitions :( The incense is great! I stock up every few weeks when me and the bf trek up to Denton for our Chopsticks fix and his comic book subscriptions.
