Active Motion is helping me recovery from my second knee replacement. The physical therapy for both knee replacements was conducted by Kurt Schulze. I’ve had physical therapy at a few locations along Colorado Blvd over the years. Active Motion and Kurt Schulze is the best. I prefer to be pushed to my limit as I am physically able to be pushed. Kurt always pushes me just enough. He has a deep bag of tricks. If one technique is not producing results, he reaches into his bag and attacks the problem from a different angle. Some days I am able to do more. Kurt sees this and spends extra time with me. He is not one to end a therapy session just because time has run out. He motivates me to perform my home based therapy. He evaluates and adjusts exercises as I progress. He constantly monitors for proper form. His knowledge of muscles, bones and the recovery process is one of his strong points. He knows what my body should be able to do at certain healing time points. He makes sure that I am not over doing it and that I am performing at the correct level for the healing process. Kurt sets clear goals and expectations. It is always nice to know not just where you are at, but also where you have to go. Kurt does an excellent job of balancing the demands of PT with the pain of recovery and the emotions that go along with a major traumatic experience.

There are physical therapists and there are physical therapists, and Derek Levy and his crew are the real deal. Not a well-healed franchise with cookie cutter treatments/equipment, but a down-to-earth group of highly trained, capable therapists who work with you one-on-one. These are people you can trust your oh-so-sorry injured body to. Do what they tell you to do and you’ll feel better. Sure thang.
