If you are not familiar with the Aldi philosophy try to read it before shopping so you don’t enter blindly. First, they charge $ 0.25 for a cart outside. It must be a quarter, no dimes and nickles. I didn’t have a quarter so no cart for me. Second, they charge for bags. They want to «pass the savings» onto the customer. They charge $ 0.05 for paper bags and $ 0.10 for high quality plastic bags. Now I have actually sourced plastic bags for a large grocery chain and when buying in bulk the standard plastic bags cost somewhere between $ 0.005 and $ 0.01. Yes that is correct. Half a cent to one cent. Third, they only accept cash or debit. What happens if you don’t have either? Well no food for you. Their selection is small and everything is a generic brand. But some of the no-name items are very good. What they carry are mostly staple items. Be aware that if you find something in their snack section that you like, it probably won’t be there or your next trip. They do have excellent prices on produce. Their pet food and litter are way over priced however. My major complaint is checking out. Hands down the rudest and laziest employees. They sit down at the register and toss your groceries into the cart. You must bag them yourselves. I have never had a friendly cashier and never have I seen more than one register open even if the line is 10 customers deep on a weekend. So all in all I usually only go to Aldi’s if I want one or two things because it is right next to our favorite restaurant. Their philosophy: on $ 100 they save about $ 1.50 in credit card fees and say $ 0.05 for 5 paper bags. That is $ 1.55. Minus the $ 0.25 they charge for a cart is $ 1.30. Wow Aldi. You lose my hundreds of dollars of grocery shopping a month because of the hassle. Terrible customer service and I have to do so much of the work myself. Is it worth it?

Aldi stores like this one are what make Aldi pretty great. I don’t think many people have had the pleasure of shopping at an Aldi this nice and therefore Aldi gets an overall bad rap. First and foremost, the best time to come is immediately at opening time on Saturday morning. They must receive a shipment on Fridays because produce is always so fresh Saturday morning. Many Aldi stores have cheap produce, but few have good looking fresh fruits and veggies. This one has both. I have to add that this store does a great job of pulling and checking for old produce because I rarely find anything«yucky» at this location. Seriously, less than $ 2 for strawberries? Rock on Denver Aldi! They have a small section for organic produce, and I wish that would expand. Currently they carry carrots, tomatoes, and apples. Beyond produce, I use Aldi for cheeses and eggs! We eat 4 dozen eggs a week, so the $ 1.79 price helps a lot! The feta crumble cheese is amazing on salads and comes highly recommended. Seriously, if you’re in or near Denver, this Aldi is worth the stop.

My wife and I really like shopping at Aldi and was really glad when they built one here in Denver. The store is always clean, the selection and prices are good and the staff is friendly. Plus its generally not as crowded as other grocery stores which is a big plus in my book. They are adding new items all the time and have a larger selection of healthier items which are low fat or have little to no high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oils. The only thing that kept me from giving Aldi 5 stars is the fact they will start carrying an item you’ll get hooked on, then one day it will just be gone. I asked a manager about that one day and he told me these were«limited edition» items that may or may not be back based on how well they sold during the trial run. Other than that, my wife and I are fans of Aldi.

I love shopping at Aldi. This is one of two locations that I frequent. I can get in, get what I need, and get out fairly quickly. The store is always clean, as is the restroom. I especially like shopping in the produce section for a wide selection of fruits and vegetables. The prices cannot be beat in any other supermarket in this area. Excellent shopping experience!
