I have not ventured into the store as of yet, but that is mostly because I was rather put off by the woman who helped me(or didn’t) on the phone. Called in to ask if she carried a certain pattern and she was extremely curt and not willing to help. I knit on a regular basis, and prefer to frequent small local shops, but I have choices in Denver and because of her rude attitude I will not try this shop.

Strawberry Tree is by far, my most favorite knitting store in the city. The store has beautiful yarn of all types. The staff is amazing. They will give you their time to help find patterns, yarn and whatever else you need, with their professional exertise. At the front of the store you will find a community knitting table where people come to knit and chat. I have never walked in the store, when I haven’t found somebody that I had knitted with before at that table. Friday night is knit/chat night. The store is open until 8:30 on Fridays for that very purpose. Don’t be overwhelmed when you walk into the store and see yarn everywhere. The staff knows where everything is!!! Good luck, and happy knitting

Anderson’s Strawberry Tree is in the VERY tiny corner of a crap-hole strip mall. Oh yeah, its next to some sort of shady AA meeting/substance abuse treatment/salvation church place. So expect some«shady» characters lingering around. While the area is pretty ugly, Anderson’s has THEBEST supply of yarn in Denver. Everything from sturdy, cheap wool, to really fancy silk yarn with sequins and beads woven in that cost almost $ 100! The store is packed with whatever yarn you want, and there are lots of examples of projects knitting in the yarns along with a huge supply of pattern books. This place is dangerous though… the yarns dont all have prices. So ask if you think it looks fancy(i.e. the silk beaded yarn… put that one back fast!) My only bummer about the store is that is doesnt have classes. But you can go in at any time to get help, and the owner will even wind your yarn into a ball if it is in a loop or skein, which can save you hours.

If you are a fan of no-frills yarn shopping, this is where you need to go. There’s no need to take this yarn out for dinner, buy it drinks, whisper soft nothings in its ear. It knows why you’re there. You want yarn and you want it now. Nestled in a corner of a circa-1983 strip mall, Strawberry Tree is easily missed. It’s a ridiculously small space crammed with tons and tons of yarn. I would probably say that have some of the best prices in town for the products they offer, too. You’ll probably not bump into friends there, and there’s really no place to linger in the store, but you’ll find the quality stuff you need and the sales people are helpful without being pushy.
