I had a checkup today and cleaning. The staff and Dr Avason were great. I was in right at my scheduled time. I thought I needed some filling done but Dr Avason said he didn’t really suggest doing any of the work and I would be better off without any type of filling. The entire staff is personal and professional — no drama. The dental technician did a good job cleaning my teeth and had pride in what she was doing. The office was clean and sanitary measures were in place. The only suggestion I can offer is to clean or replace the covers on the exam lights. It’s probably only something you notice actually sitting in the chair. I remember seeing that on my last visit too. Considering how spotless everything else is — this would be easy to put a remedy or routine in place to fix. I would recommend Dr Avason and plan to continue with all my families dental needs there. I saw the one star review and felt impelled to help offset that!

Dr. Avason and staff(especially Ms. Polly and Ms. Leslie) are fantastic. I’ve had some rough experiences with dentists in the past and Dr. Avason is always very gentle and caring with me and my children. I’m so glad I found a great dentist close to my home and work!

I don’t normally write reviews, let alone bad ones, but here’s my experience and take with it what you will. I am a nervous patient, and need to be sedated for my cleaning/filling. The cleaning went fine, but the filling not so much. After FOUR shots of novocaine, I still felt pain in my tooth. The dentist insisted he wasn’t touching me. After stopping him the second time, he told me I would need anesthesia, and they don’t know when their doctor will be in again. He treated me like a lost«mental» cause. I can assure you he DID touch my tooth(put a temporary filling on it) and it DID hurt. I never got a call asking how I was feeling or a call to rebook another appointment. I decided to get a second opinion, and turns out I needed more than a filling, I needed a root canal. There was infection, and novocaine(apparently) does not work when there’s infection. He tried to fill a «cavity» on a hot nerve, and acted like I was the crazy one. There could be a lot of maybes, like«maybe the x-ray wasn’t clear» or «maybe he had a busy day» — but any dentist who claims to be pain free dentistry should be aware of what is going on when their patient is tearing up with pain.
