Great service — they take time in explaining the problems and the options. There is never any pressure to spend more than necessary. In fact, on at least two occasions, they have fixed issues for free. I never go anywhere else.

Dick and his mechanics have been servicing my family’s cars since his shop was located on the west corner of Jewell and Wadsworth, way in the back of the complex. That was many decades ago.
My car is a lemon. There are no two ways about it. But Bear Creek always repairs it right.
On those rare occasions when they don’t get the diagnosis right, they have always, always made the correction on their dime. Where else can you go to get that level of professional service? Nowhere. I’ve tried.
Sure, you can get a less-​expensive oil change. But when that shop gives you a list of things «you have to do or else,» your next stop should be to Bear Creek Automotive. Have them double check. If you need the repairs, let them do the repairs. They will be done properly, and the price will be more than fair.
Here’s a tip. Maybe I shouldn’t say this, but I will. I get my oil changed at one of those other places. When they are correct and I need something repaired, I buy the parts through an auto parts store. (I get great warranties, lower prices and, unlike from a dealer, nothing has failed yet).
I can then bring those parts to Dick and his mechanics, and they will install them for labor and the cost of shop materials. Maybe they do this because we’ve had such a long-​standing relationship. I don’t know. But I tell you what. I greatly, greatly appreciate it.
That, and they couldn’t be nicer.

My girlfriend and I regularly take our cars here for routine maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations. We’ve also trusted Bear Creek Automotive with several more expensive repairs such as fixing broken power windows, replacing worn out rotors, and diagnosing oil leaks. The service is friendly, prompt, and cost-​competitive. As another reviewer mentioned, their labor charge is a very reasonable $ 90/​hr.
Based on my experience with them, I can say with some assurance that the mechanics working there are honest, which is my main criterion for auto repair shops. This is how the guys at Bear Creek have earned their five stars. They never tell me to get a repair I don’t need, they give honest advice on which repairs can be deferred or ignored, and if you’re confused or skeptical about a repair, they’ll be happy to show you exactly what they’re up to. For example, when I questioned them about supposed wear on two of my girlfriend’s brake rotors, they brought the affected parts out for me to inspect personally. Yep, they needed replacing!
Most recently, they impressed me by cleaning out my very muddy engine compartment (for free) while hunting down some oil and power steering leaks in my ’97 Toyota Camry. This must have been quite a job, because there were thick layers of intractable mud inside from about 30 miles worth of accidental mud-​bogging adventure. My poor car has also been without heat since a botched A/​C repair by a Florida Firestone in 2010. Since then, I’ve had numerous people inspect it to no avail. But the head mechanic Zack not only found the problem (a tangled cable), he fixed it free of charge! Finally I won’t have to endure a winter of frigid driving. Thanks a million for honesty and fairness, Zack!

Fast and friendly service. Reading the other reviews, I don’t understand why anyone would say cost much. They are on par with jiffy lube and grease monkey for oil changes and only $ 90 hr for labor. That is very low for the area. I would recommend them to anyone for anything automotive

Sucker punched!!! I went in with a coupon good for $ 10 off a $ 35 dollar oil change… Figuring $ 25, plus a bit for 6.5 Qts. Of course they up sold a cabin filter. Total… $ 114.05. They used synthetic oil without asking me. I said I asked for the $ 25 change… And they said «but last time you had synthetic»… I said «that was last time I was here over 18 months ago» AND I had asked for the coupon deal specifcally.
After a BBB complaint was filed, the owner called me and said he is refunding me the difference. He was professional and courteous and says he’s spoken to his employees about asking first.

I’ve been to this shop a number of times. They did typical maintenance on my 99 dodge ram truck. Now I trust them with my 02 Subaru. They checked out my Subaru before I bought it and told me what I needed to do to make it last. Now they do all the maintenance on the outback. The owner is usually there and is a straight shooter — no bs and Zack the head mechanic knows his stuff. So you ask why only 4 stars? Cost. They are a bit spendy but I think that cost is spent on sanity that the shop does good work. And if something is not right they fix it super fast.
