I haven’t tried the coffee here, but I did grab some chocolate milk for my son while we were eating right next door at Comida. He was happy and so was I! Next time I plan to try the chai.

I love the coffee here. You don’t need to add any cream or sugar. It is smooth and earthy and you can enjoy the goodness of the coffee itself. I am a lover of the source. It is a great space to have lunch, dinner, HH, but I had never been for a morning jaunt until this morning. Thus, being my first time getting coffee here. The place was rather quite around 9 am when 5 of us met for a meeting. It was not hard to find a spot to sit and discuss work things and it was actually a rather pleasant atmosphere. I got a cappuccino and they the girls here make it quick but they are so artsy about what they do. Lots of tapping the milk and pouring it slowly and artistically into the cup so it is almost too pretty on top to drink. This is definitely a must when visiting the source. yummy.

Pull up an I.V. please! If you drink coffee like me, you’ll have your friend Dr. Tran from CU hospital bring an I.V. daily to your house to pump your guts full of caffeine because coffee to you has the caffeine equivalence of Pepsi to the guy next to you. If your eyes finally start to twitch while you drive and it feels like a 6.5 earthquake because you can’t hold your cup straight then you’ve finally hit a good strong espresso! Yes. Box Car finally woke me up from my 2 day hangover. Stella vs. Mogeyes You’re visiting this trendy spot and you take a look at the extensive menu and see the primary breakdown is between their Stella and their Mogeyes beans. What does that mean? No, it’s not the two names of the women who sell it. Stella is their staple blend that has a blend of 3 coffees which will have a bittersweet chocolate, caramel and cherry taste. While their Mogeyes is a single origin meaning they don’t blend different beans that will have sweet notes to it. Yum. DRINKCOFFEE… do stupid things faster with more energy!

I don’t often drink lattes anymore, but I couldn’t help but try their root beer milk latte. Combining two of my favorite beverages, this delicious marriage of root beer spice extract and espresso is out of this world. The flavor is subtle and not too overpowering. The latte is on the sweet side. I can never drink a regular latte again! I love trying local roasters and Boxcar is one I would definitely return to try their other offerings including the cold brew. One of my interests is their method of altitude brewing and the type of extraction they get out of it. Can’t wait to return to The Source!

Outstanding espresso. The line wasn’t very long, and we were greeted promptly by the friendly staff. Not much in terms of pastries, but there is a bakery right across from here(it just happened to be closed the morning we came through). An Americano only comes in 12oz, and you have several varieties of espresso to choose from.

This is the best coffee roaster, I believe, in the United States of America. The decaf guatemala is water processed and amazing. I miss Duke but will settle for Stella. The coffeeshop itself is nice and shares a space with Cured, so if you want something delicious, you’re pretty well set. Prices are high; bags are 300g, which is only 2⁄3 of a pound(10.6oz). But you get what you pay for here.

I’ve yet to actually visit them in person but I have been ordering my coffee from them online for the past month or so. Their coffee is phenomenal! I am so happy to finally have found a local source so that I can get my coffee within the magic 7 days of roasting timeframe. Online service has been spectacular. Shipping is fast and they package your coffee securely. I only order whole bean so I can’t speak to how they do the different grinds but I imagine it’s spot on. These guys seem to know their stuff and I look forward to visiting them in person soon. My favorite so far is the Gachatha from Kenya. Give it a try!

Came to explore inside the Source, and while I wasn’t hungry, I wanted to try *something* here, so we shared an iced root beer milk latte at Boxcar Coffee. It was peculiar and delicious! The aftertaste does taste like root beer, and we chugged it pretty quickly. It was pretty expensive [over $ 6 with tip], but the glass they gave us was pretty big. You can sit at the coffeeshop’s bar, but we decided to sit out in the more open area of the building and just hang out. I wouldn’t make Boxcar my everyday coffeeshop, but I’d definitely consider the root beer latte a treat!

While The Source is an awesome location, the coffee was just okay. My husband got a latte and I got an americano. I expected the espresso to be stronger and darker but it was fairly weak. Check out The Source, skip the coffee.

Life changing espresso drinks. I loved this gem hidden in an industrial wasteland. Staff were extremely helpful, helping me understand which of their coffees to buy for friends who like French Roast. I got 2 pounds of coffee and one of the best lattes I’ve had in a long time. It’s in the middle of an industrial section so be ready to be surprised that a nice place is in the middle of all this industrial stuff. They have some cool neighbors like a cheese place that I didn’t have time to check out that looked great also. Worth the drive and they also have a place in Boulder if you prefer.

Good coffee… I guess. Normally I prefer a darkly roasted drip coffee; however, the coffees that I tried here were very tame and mild, so I actually ended up liking there expresso more(which was good!) The main issue I have with this place is that it is super expensive($ 4.25 for a cup of drip coffee??). I get it, its artisan roasted, but c’mon, you can buy a pound of good beans for just double that price. There is a lot of good coffee choices around, so it’s hard for me to rave too much about this one.

Did you guys know they boil their coffee here? (Flips a table over smashing all the glassware on it) THEYBOILTHEIRGODDAMCOFFEEHERE!!! This ain’t no high-falutin’, snake-oil gimmick to trick pinterest subscribers into coming. Nuh-uh, buddy. This is the science of elevation and heat and water physics and all kinds of other metric voodoo coming together to make a uniquely delicious cup of full-bodied coffee! Oh I haven’t even talked about the taste yet! It’s really goddam good! I love a French Press but I hate the bitter swirl at the bottom of my mug when I’m done, just taunting me to drink it’s sour spoils. At Boxcar, I can get the full-body, the oily flavors and the complex notes of their ace light roats all in one cup with a dope ass beaker on the side, but with none of the sick grounds at the bottom. You still getta little silt but shit, it’s good man! They use all kinds of re-purposed science lab equipment and the baristas were super friendly and willing to talk about whatever black magic they were performing on the beans to make my delicious brew. Oh and it’s in an renovated rail-yard storage building that also houses a delicious bakery, some sort of meat-smokery and all kinds of cool shit that was closed when I came in at 8:30 in the morning to get a cup of coffee and chill with all the cool ass old people who still buy newspapers apparently. You should go here.

Been here a couple times. The people behind the counter have been friendly but I find there’s more than a bit of awkwardness about this kiosk /business. I appreciate the made to order cups of coffee, but it involves a wait time that quickly creates a backed up line on the weekends. The condiments are a bit hidden too. The first time we bought 2 kinds of beans… they were both light roasts, we prefer medium or dark. If you are thinking of buying beans and have similar tastes might want to ask them what the roast is. 2 of our party ordered a fresh brewed coffee. The brewing technique is novel and, lets just say it, a bit fussy. I tasted both cups. They were ok.(Seems like the roasters tend to light roasts. I uploaded a pic and you can see the coffee isn’t in the pitcher isn’t as dark as you might expect coffee to be) They give you a cup filled with the coffee you ordered and then a pitcher with the few ozs that won’t fit in the smallish cup. All this comes on another plate/tray. Seems like they should just get slightly bigger mugs or brew a few ounces more so you can get two full cups out of an order. Right now the amount of coffee in the pitcher after you fill your cup is slim, and the leftover coffee quickly cools. I got a cappuccino. It was tasty and of course the foam art was impeccable, but temperature wise somewhere between warm and lukewarm. Still, the espresso tastes good and I’m sure the capp temp was an anomoly. I’ll try another next time I’m there.

Wonderful coffee and worth every penny. I’m a big fan of their cherrypicker blend, and they seem to have a different variety of single origin roasts each time I come in. Boxcar is probably my favorite thing about The Source and definitely worth checking out if you like coffee.

We hit up The Source for the first time this weekend and I jumped at the chance to try Boxcar. I’ve brewed their coffee at home, but never been to either of their actual locations. I ordered an almond milk latte and while it maybe wasn’t the most velvety latte I’ve ever had, the ambiance and fact that I could walk across the way and eat a pastry from Babette’s makes for an awesome coffee experience.

I still stop in for an espresso drink often, but I also use their beans to make coffee at home. It makes a great cup of coffee in my Chemex. Recommended!

Exceptional coffee! I sampled their espresso as well as two of their boilermaker brews(a brewing method unique to Boxcar), the Ethiopian and the Whiskeygrin. The former was delightfully fruity with heavy notes of blueberry. The latter was heavier with notes of chocolate and bourbon(no actual liquor though!). I work as a barista currently in OKC, and both the espresso and the brews were great. If I lived in Denver, this would be a regular stop for me. I also want to give them a shout out for excellent service. All three of the present employees were personable, knowledgeable, and graciously answered my MANY questions. This roaster/coffee house is a must stop for coffee lovers in Denver.

Excellent espresso. The line isn’t ever too long and there are tables nearby that you can enjoy your coffee and eat a pastry from Babette’s. The staff has been friendly but this isn’t a fast joint. They take their time with the drink. Beans are ground and grounds are pressed, just sit back and watch, especially if you order a pour over. I like their cappuccinos as well, but I’m more of a take a shot and go gal.

I am not a coffee snob by any means. I actually only have coffee a few times a year at most. But I did take my coffee snob friends that were visiting from Chicago here and they were blown away! I also must say I thought the coffee was very good as well. I tried black coffee and a latte. Walk across The Source and grab a fresh baked good from the bakery and hang out with your coffee. very relaxing!
