I came here with my husband one day and I was a little hesitant at first because of the mixed reviews. We both LOVED this place! I had the fish tacos and my husband had the chicken platter. It was SO good, and cooked perfectly! Like everyone else has said, it was totally empty. Maybe only 4 other couples there and it was 6pm on a friday. I liked that though since it was a date night for us and I didn’t have to shout across the table. The service was excellent! Our waitor was very friendly and talkative. With how few people there were, I REALLY hope this place stays open. We live in Vail, so we don’t get to go to Denver too often, but I have been craving those fish tacos and want to go back!

So like most people said, this place is never busy. But what’s nice is that it’s right downtown and has its own parking lot! And you can’t beat $ 3 bloodys for lunch! My friend and I got seated in Sasha’s section, and that is our only complaint! She didn’t give us silverware, was rushing us, and asked us if we needed anything else while we were still eating. Then delivered us our check. It was discovered it was because she wanted to leave. Why didn’t she just say, «Hey guys, my shift has ended, would you be willing to close out you bill with me? I would be happy to start a new tab for you at the bar.» The food was okay. My friend got a cup of green chili which was luke warm, and tasted more like chili on a breakfast burrito. She also got a wedge salad that she said was good. I myself got the Sourdough Ranch burger, it was good, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best I have ever had. If you are looking for a low key place to hang out with friends downtown, I suggest this place!

This place is my new favorite! Every now and then I find a real gem of a place because of Groupon, and the new Brauns is definitely one of them. Free street parking and they even have their own parking lot, yay! Free drinks for Ladies on Thursdays after 9pm, yay! Seared Ahi Tuna, and they actually ask how you want it cooked, yay! Fantastic service, board games for us late night boozers, lots of fantastic local brew on tap and skee ball. I have even heard rumor that they tap a keg of beer and serve FREE pints until it is gone on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. I love this place. I think I will actually be disappointed when it gets«discovered» and mobbed by crowds of sports and beer fans. But, I’ll enjoy this fantastic place while I can…

My recent experience … walked there and was very thirsty and hungry. At 1PM on a Sat, as we walked in there were a total of 6 people in there(including staff). As we found our seats a guy that was sitting closest to the kitchen walked up to the bar and I overheard«can I speak with a manager». The bartender mumbled something about being able to help him and he says«that’s not what we ordered». I didn’t think it was a big deal, but the guy and his companion walked out. Found a seat at one of the high tops and waited for waitstaff. And waited. I look over to see the bartender speaking with someone else who presumably worked there. Finally we make eye contact and she eventually comes over and asks what we’d like. It seemed to be a bit slurred and she was clenching her fists. We order a Coke and tea with a water. She walks behind the bar and fills up two glasses with ice and Coke and one with water. On the way to our table she just about looses it and spills a little out of each drink, almost on me, sets them down and says«what can I get you guys to drink?». HUH. Say that again. She does and at this point it is very VERY obvious that she is hammered. Not just drunk. 3 sheets. Hammered. Granted Oktoberfest was happening, but the place is dead and the fest goers haven’t even begun to start showing up. So my friend says — you know, I think we’re going elsewhere. She stares blankly at my friend and then, with that drunken, swaying head turn to look the other direction, stares at me for confirmation. Yea we’re goin elsewhere. FINE she says just about tripping over the chairs as she stumbles back to behind the bar. I can’t stress how G runk she was. On the way out the patrons sitting close to the door do the international sign for drink(pinky in air, tilt) and pointed to her.

Very solid bar food: juicy fresh burger and fries and the mushroom quesadilla was exceptional. Our server was firendly, chatty and efficient. There’s nothing particauly remarkable, but it has a nice dark wood feel. And its a gamer’s paradise with TV trivia and poker, football everywhere, shufflebaord, two skeeballs, Godlen Tee and more.

Although it’s a bit out there(compared to all the other bars on Blake), Braun has been a consistent watering hole for the us folks who work around the area. Why? Because they have kick ass specials, that’s why! $ 3 you call its? Hell yes! But more importantly, I must say their burgers are downright frickin’ BOMB. And I mean the BOMBDOTCOM. Try one with bacon and pepperjack. I like mine medium rare. You will not regret the decision. As for décor, it’s your standard, better than usual club faire, so nothing fantastic, but certainly not drabby or anything either. Service is very quick and friendly. It’s the perfect watering hole in my opinion and I just wish more people knew how great their food and specials were!

Went on a date here last as we wanted something close. The place was quiet and all the staff, including our server, were very nice. Absolutely NO, NADA, gluten-free selections. I had a bacon cheese burger, no bun of course, and a side salad. My partner had the fish tacos. For $ 10, my meal was subpar, small, dry, and over-cooked, per my request. My dates meal was bland, the fish over-cooked, and tough. Overall, I wish I could like this place more than I did… I just can’t, which upsets me because the service here is really amazing. Unfortunately, for two glasses of wine and our meal, $ 50…deal breaker and we wont be back.

I, like a few others, was hoping for something of a bit more. We visited on a Sunday evening and upon walking in were unsure if they were even open. Now let me say this is a fairly big place, and we were the only ones there. The hostess who was very friendly informed us that it was usually busy on game days but sometimes crowds fluctuate on non gamedays, and this was more than ok with us. A bar to ourselves, if its a good bar is A-OK. Liquor selection was average and I believe they had around 12 beers on tap. There was also 2 pay skeeball machines, a jukebox, and a very nice slide shuffleboard table — which was free. All good things. We ordered the Green chile chicken Nachos, which was ok, but like another reviewer said, pricing seems a bit steep, especially for as slow as this place was. I think we ended up with 1 appetizer and 6 beers and it was a few bucks short of $ 50 pre-tip. Average maybe, but I left wishing there was a bit more of an atmosphere.

I was hoping for better. Pricy food and the bartender I had on 2 different occasions couldn’t be bothered, he was too busy texting away. Based on what I’ve read here perhaps he has moved on. I do hope Braun’s makes it as the neighborhood could use an option to the Blake St. Tavern, which has a most limited menu these days. I did enjoy the food on my several visits although usually go for the appetizers around happy hour. Being retired I’m always on the lookout for a happy hour deal and Braun’s is OK in that department.

I don’t know much about this place other than the fact that I love their daily $ 3 draft beer specials(Boulder’s Buffalo Gold the last time I was here), skee-ball lanes and off the beaten path location. I’ve also indulged in two different types of flavored shots here as part of their $ 5 beer and shot specials for the Denver Patio Ride pedalers, and they went down like water. Fruity delicious water. Their food menu looked intriguing and this place would be high on my list of those to revisit downtown, because it’s not ever very crowded. I like how open the front area is to the outside. I like the friendly waiters, waitresses and bartenders. Yep, I’ll be back.

I hope Braun’s makes it. They took over the space where Blake St. Tavern was and I’m glad they did. The neighborhood needs more food/bar options, not less. However they seem to have taken their pricing from the location next to Pepsi Center. I hope they realize this and adjust accordingly. The staff is awesome and very friendly. The upside to being too expensive for the neighborhood is that it’s never busy when we want to drop in. I’ll trade that in though for them to be here in 5 years.

Any place that has skee-ball is already well on its way to winning me over. When said place also has great drink specials and a little treat on the menu known as green chile cheese fries I’m pretty much sold. As was the case with the few other reviews when the group I was with stopped in there wasn’t anyone else in the place. This could have possibly been because it was a Sunday at like 6 pm, but with the location, big TVs, decent menu, and great drink specials I just feel like it should be a little more crowded. And who knows? Perhaps it will become that way as more and more people realize this location is here. It seems like Braun’s would be a great place for pre or post Rockies drinks, too. Or to watch any sporting event that your little heart desires. And the staff here is super, super nice which is always a plus in my book.

I am from out of town and met some friends at Braun’s on Blake prior to a Rockies game. They had never been, and obviously, either had I. We sat at the bar where our bartenders entertained us hilarious personalities. The drink specials were ridiculously good! I don’t see specials like that in Chicago! We all shared meatloaf sliders as an appetizer. Very unique and flavorful! We also shared a Black and Blue Burger and Blackened Salmon Spinach Salad(my favorite!!!). Overall, when in town, I will visit again. The chill atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing food and awesome drink specials are a win in my book!

Took over old blake st location, happy hour is great $ 3 for beers on tap. Menu is a little pricey, but happy hour beer make up for it! A bit more upscale than Blake St felt. They added more open air to the side room. Lights are nice, less TV’s — they are all over the bar now. Staff is friendly. Calamari is tasty, but kinda spendy at $ 10 Salsa is just ok, but hey they aren’t a mexican restaurant! I’ll be back! You should check it out too!
