A group of us ate at this restaurant on June 3rd and totally enjoyed the food and the service was great. However, the women’s bathroom was filthy. It smelled bad and the base board had something black growing on it. I don’t know what it is about Mexican restaurants, but most of them are dirty. This is a big turn off for me.

I do have to say that the bartender serving me was super awesome. He was courteous and attentive from the moment I arrived. He took my order and it was very quick. If the service is always like that then I might suggest this place on that alone. As for the food, it was fine. My boss had been suggesting their green chili from the moment I began working with her and it was fine. I ordered the hot and it definitely had a massive kick to it. I like my green chili a little greener and more thick. Maybe all the hype played a role in it not meeting my expectations… it was good and I’d try it again… but it just wasn’t what I expected

We love Brewery Bar II and have been going there for years. The restaurant itself is nothing truly special, but it has a really cozy and comfortable atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to watch a game. It also doesn’t hurt that they have the best Chile Rellenos in Denver. Their margaritas are excellent as well. Highly recommended.

At the Brewery Bar 2 right now, Saturday 3−26−16 at 4:25 pm; the bar tender that just came on duty is an ASS hole. There are 3 people at the bar and I had to wave him down to get a drink and he has no personality. If this joker worked for me he would be fired. Okay maybe his dog died today, I don’t know.

Traditional Mexican food. Nothing special or authentic however, the food comes out very quick, the wait staff is very friendly and the food is excellent

I’m hesitant to even rate this place on Unilocal because I want to keep it my little secret, but it deserves an awesome rating! The food is cheap, delicious, and everything you want from a little dive bar. The margaritas are delicious and a great price, $ 20 for a half pitcher of margaritas(about 6 margs), yeah that’s a good deal. They have some of the best green chile I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a cheap place to get some delicious Mexican food and margs this is definitely the spot for you.

Wow, has this place taken a nose dive. First off we received someone else’s food and had it for 3 – 5 minutes before we could tell someone it wasn’t what we ordered. They agreed and removed and gave to the table next to us without even asking if we touched. I feel terrible that I was dipping chips into the great green chili and eating. Not sure what to do at this point after our waitress Jennifer #8836 yelled at the gal that made the mistake to the entire room for delivering to the incorrect table, which really isn’t that big of place. The next item was actually the reason I decided to write this review, which I never do… We arrived at 11 ish and paid at 11:31 and was told by, Jennifer, our waitress that it was time to «go back to work» because they was someone needing the table. I have actually never in my life have this requested. Our meal was 31 minutes and cost 34.81 for somewhat under whelming food to to be asked to leave after 31 minutes Was crazy. So, this would have to rank as one of the most undesirable meal ever. It could have been worse we got our food after another table nibbled on it. So, if you try this place you might want to avoid Jeffiner with server ID8836. I guess maybe I should be check out for tipping. Hopfully my last review… hate to be that guy.

A dive bar with Sawtooth on draft and green chili. If you haven’t been drop what you are doing and go.

I have been going to this place since the early seventies when I worked for D&RGWRR. Whenever I need the best crunchy Chile rellenos this is the place. I think they have the hottest green chili in town, I get half & half so I don’t have to suffer the next day. If you need a comfort food fix this is the place. Years ago when Abe was alive they had a different cook and his enchilada sauce was the best I have ever had in my life, not so today. My grandma made the same sauce but took the recipe with her. I have tried and tried to duplicate it but have yet to find the secret. Oh well the search continues…

I have been going to Brewery Bar II for 30 plus years, more often in the 80s when I actually lived in Denver. Still make it to BBII on most of my visits to Denver. Atmosphere, décor and denizens virtually unchanged through the decades. At this point I always get the same thing — special chile rilleno smothered in hot green pork chili. As noted by other Unilocalers, you either like this dish or you don’t, no middle of the road. It’s the best food there is as far as I’m concerned.

This is my second visit to The Brewery Bar II and both times the food and service were top notch. They bill themselves as a Mexican Restaurant and have a full menu, but the best item by far is the chili relleno smothered with hot green chili. The«Best of Denver» special adds a burrito with the relleno. The guacamole and salsa are excellent as well. Don’t let the location discourage you. By the railroad on the short south side of Denver. Not the best neighborhood, but the place is a real gem. Well worth the trip.

You either love it or hate it. My group loves it and has been frequenting this spot for 15 years. Get the #1, hot green chile, and you won’t be disappointed.

Went with some friends for dinner. I have eaten there before and I am not impressed. This last experience was disgusting. I ordered the Mexican Hamburger plate smothered with green chile. I should’ve known better when I told the waitress to cook the burger medium-rare and she said I can only get it medium. I received my meal and of course the chile is soupy therefore making the tortilla soggy. As I was eating my meal, I noticed a weird taste. I dissected the burger from everything, took a bite and then asked my friend of the burger tasted weird. Old, frozen bad meat. Sour tasting. The waitress came by and I told her about the meal and she offered a replacement meal, but I declined. I will never go back. As for the best Mexican food in Denver, oh hell no! There are other better Mexican restaurants. Beware…

The Brewery Bar II and I have a history. My dad turned me on to the Brewery Bar. He and his work buddies would visit anytime they had the chance. A tiny tea and one of the combination plates, smothered in green chile, is the order. I don’t know if the tiny tea is available anymore as I have graduated to a beer with the meal… The food comes out fast, hot and tasty. We’ve seen beans being sorted on the table and heard the banter between the regulars and the staff. When I am back in Denver, the Brewery Bar II is the first choice for a Mexican food /dive bar fix! Just writing the review is making me want to book a flight!

Brewery Bar will do just fine without a Unilocal review, it has paid its dues and made a name for itself long before us e-critics, but it deserves a good review now and then and I’m happy to write one after finally making my way here. I’ve been in Baker for two years now and only noticed this place while on light rail. Something about its location to a walker like myself, it seems out of the way from the concentrated areas of Santa Fe Arts District and Baker’s central vein, Broadway. Now I realize that is an advantage! It allows for it to retain its characteristics within the changing neighborhood, a beacon Denver’s hardened culture, an independent state of mind, and taste buds. On our way back from a memorial event downtown we decided to stop in for a little substance, barely making an order in time before the kitchen closed(8:30pm on most weeknights!). It has a great tequila selection that the co-owner Bob decided to share near last call(yes, everyone got a free shot, perhaps that makes my review bias, you’ve been warned.) Had the special for the day, smothered tamales, and a house margarita. The hot chili is spot on, definitely spicy, without sacrificing flavor. That’s what I call Mexican Magic. The atmosphere is blue collar meets neon, almost an 80s feel, not as swanky blue collar as say, Gary Lee’s Motorclub, but just as comfortable and more homey. You can tell it is a family ran business, classical friendly service. It’s definitely a Denver atmosphere, retaining a sense of community that was this place for as many decades as it has been around. It is also still remarkably affordable(a rarity these days in going out!), and downright delicious.

We went on the suggestion of a dive bar book, my boyfriend picked up. It was a community drinking hole for sure, everyone knew each other. We are new to the neighborhood, so no one knows up yet. A ladies daughter was drinking at the other end of the bar, and she exclaimed«Oh no!». Other poepl at the counter were jibing an old fella eating the chile bowl, «Do you need to use the bathroom.» I enjoyed the banter, and the bartender was a cool seasoned professional. We were their before five, so maybe we left before the choice debauchery. We got a happy hour, chips and cheese and salsa app, which was nothing special. Bartender said you should try the green chile. Happy hour does not include micro brews. But you are in luck for cheap domestic draft beers– Coors, Bud etc. Our main crit, is turn the lighting down, ti is way too bright for a dive bar.

LOVE this place. Parking kinda sucks, but the food is great and served quickly. the chile rellenos are amazing. I have been going here for years and it is incredibly consistent. Margaritas are pretty darn tasty too.

Love this place the way you love a favorite old bronco sweatshirt. My favorite Mexican food in this town and I’ve been to most. I get the #1(smothered burrito & relleno) most times and love it. This place won’t win any beauty pageants but if you want good sloppy green chile smothered food that comes out quick, Brewery Bar II will make your day.

How can you not give a place a shot that is frequently billed as the best green chili in the city? That’s no small claim for Denver. I was a bit skeptical from the get go(as I sure most first timers are) as the location made me feel like i should be packing heat on the way in for my own safety. Very divey location, and sure enough, very divey inside too. I got the a chili relleno and cheese enchilada plate(all covered in green chili of course). It was tasty, but certainly not the best in Denver. Even at the«hottest» spice level, it didn’t really pack much of a punch, and wasn’t very hearty as i would hope the«best in Denver» would be. The plate was also so liquidy that I would have borderline called it a soup. Total gut bomb, but usually when I come to a place like this, I’ve left my calorie tracker at home, so i didn’t really mind. Would have definitely been a solid 3-star«A-OK» place for me, except our waitress was rushing us to finish because she was at the end of her shift and wanted her tip before she left. :/ Overall: — Quality artery clogging cheesy/greasy Ameri-Mexican food + good/affordable margs. — NOT the best green chili in the city. — Meh service.

First incorrect assumption you will make of this place: It’s a brewery. It is not. Second incorrect assumption you will make of this place: There is a Brewery Bar I There is not. There is, however, a III and IV. Third incorrect assumption you will make of this place: Their Mexican fare will be lame bar food. It is not. It is melt your face spicy hot. That being said, I wasn’t absolutely gaga over this place. It was good food in gigantor proportions. The server was friendly and everything went pretty smoothly. But it’s not something that stuck with me. If someone asked me to go here again, I would without complaint, but I wouldn’t suggest it as a destination.
