Best breakfast burritos in Denver hands down! Definitely worth making the trip just for these delicious burritos.

We booked high tea reservations months ago for today. We were treated very rudely and never got a table after we arrived 10 minutes early. Every party that arrived before and after us were seated. We waited 40 minutes. There were open tables. We left very disappointed and offended due to how we were treated. I will never go to the Brown Palace and I will never recommend it to anyone.

So let me give a disclaimer, I am a man and don’t find frilly things very interesting. I gave three stars when I think it deserves three. The Brown Palace is part of Marriot’s Autograph Collection and is basically an old«historic» hotel. You can sit back and see the Unsinkable Molly Brown coming here for tea. I just find this hotel and the ambiance my great grandmothers we dream. The only thing left out are doilies. Anyway back to the Tea thing. It is an expensive women’s event place with a fancy spread with funky cut sandwiches and little diapers and scones. Honestly, I think there is a confirmation bias review rating. People want to feel special with ho hum food and feel special that they are part of some mythical aristocracy.

I have a saying I live by: «On the large scale, every profession has the same percentage of good versus bad people in it.» There’s a corollary to my saying, however… and it is…“Well, except for lawyers, for them there’s a higher number of assholes than on average.“ So, the solution to this fact/problem is to work on changing my own perception. I’m sure my corollary is wrong. It’s just that I have an unusually high experience with… let’s call them …“difficult” lawyers. When you think about it, it seems that everyone must go home at night thinking, «Yup, I’m a fine person, and did a pretty darn good job of being a very good human being today.» So I guess it’s just a matter of perception, huh? Each of us is stuck in our own world view and fails, frequently, from seeing some situation from the other person’s perspective. If we did then maybe we’d be better at making compromises and resolving our issues with others. Hmmmmm. So what’s this got to do with the Brown Palace Coffee and Tea Shop you ask. Well, I decided some time ago that when I have a case against an opposing lawyer, my approach would be first to try to sit down with that attorney and share a cup of coffee or tea with them in a neutral environment; not some stuffy lawyer’s office, but at some civilized place of social grace. I decided years ago that the Brown Palace Coffee Shop was such a place. You’ll spend no more there than at a Starbucks, but the pastries will come straight from the Brown’s wonderful kitchen bakery and not from some national industrial kitchen contractor. The coffee’s freshly brewed and the barista is as pleasant as can be expected; but the enormous difference is that you get to sit and talk within the atrium of one of the most beautiful buildings in the Western hemisphere, and not in some corporate internet-branded café environment. What a treat! And what a pleasure to talk with opposing counsel in a place that just exudes style and grace, and tends to lead the conversation into a less confrontative and a more collegial pathway. Now I’m not claiming that with every case that starts out that way I end up getting a more favorable result for my client, or that the case gets resolved more quickly. But what I am saying is that the Brown’s Coffee Shop provides a setting and an opportunity to have lawyers put down their stereotypically fiesty personalities and treat each other in the way of considerate and gentle human beings. And there’s no harm that ever comes from engaging in that kind of behaviour. So 5 stars to the Brown for giving us the opportunity to remember how kind and considerate we can be to our fellow brothers and sisters. Brown Palace, my hat’s off to you for having the class to show me what can be expected of each of us. Brown Palace, you rock!

Few people know about the tiny little coffee and tea shop inside the exclusive Brown Palace Hotel. Also selling a few books and souvenir items, the little shop has no seating, but guests are welcome to sit in the grand atrium in the hotel(outside of afternoon tea time). Friendly staff serve great coffee to get your morning going – or keep an afternoon spring in your step. I recommend getting a cuppa and people watching while enjoying the beautiful hotel’s architecture.

A cozy, little coffee shop with knowledgeble, fun baristas as well as delicious coffee and pastries. The shop also has a great selection of books and magazines from Tattered Cover!

This is a small place located in between the front entrance and the revolving door. It is a great coffee shop! They serve all coffees with organic milk which tastes amazing!

Small, but packed, with coffee bean bags, tea in tins and other souvenirs to take home. Oh, and they serve hot drinks, too. Staff was a bit stand-off-ish, but, whatever, I got my caffeine.
