This used to be one of my favorite spots for dinner and brunch. The atmosphere was so nice and they had really thoughtful design details. We could always count on this place for a great brunch with no wait. They also make reservations for brunch, which is a great plus. The most recent time we are here the food was really bland and dry. Their once crispy and delicious hash browns were replaced by burned, bland potato wedges and the rest of the food was mediocre at best. They’ve really let the details and quality go.

Unfortunately, café bar used to be one of our favorite places in town but the food quality has dropped quite a bit recently. I was told their chef changed, but I dont know if that’s true or not, either way, its not what it used to be. I hope they’re able to get back to the quality they used to have! UPDATE: Apparently just a few days after our visit, Café bar closed. See this story for details

Nice space. Nice staff. Terribly boring food. It had so much promise. The kitchen was right there for us to watch. But every plate was blah and overpriced. And not the least bit filling, when sharing a round of apps to a group who’ve been out(doing Colorado things) all day. We were curious to learn about the polenta bread, but was told it wasn’t made there(and they didn’t know). That was a single question but pretty much summed up the evening.

I came here for lunch with a friend the other day. We kind of picked it at random. We were seated on the nice shady patio. This was very enjoyable, up until the rising wind started knocking tiny flowers from the tree into our food and drinks. I started my meal with house iced tea. It was nicely flavored, without any funky peach, nectarine, raspberry, or potpourri flavors lurking within. For my lunch, I opted for the Pesto Chicken salad sandwich with arugula and parmesan. The bread was nicely toasted and the flavor of the sandwich was great. It could have used a bit more«total chicken salad mass» between the bread slices, as it was a bit on the lighter side. The sweet potato fries I had with this sandwich were excellent. The service was very good.

Frustrated is the best description I can come up with. My partner was a regular of this place when he lived down the street, and tonight he wanted to take back any recommendations he had given the place. Our waiter, Ted, could use a refresher course on how to treat guests. I had to actually ask him if there was gnocchi left(we overheard another waitress mention it to her table) and only when I prodded him did he mention the kitchen was making a risotto version. While my duck was cooked perfectly and awesome; it did not make up for the fact that my partner was served a «steak» that was cut up into mini strips and was well done versus medium, which I would have let slide if it wasn’t a $ 26 dollar meal. Nobody checked on us between ordering and us finishing the meal. The lady who brought out our food was the one high point, but she was obviously busy running food. After we finished we finally saw how backed up the patio was. There were several tables who had not been addressed(basics like drink orders) or were like us, sitting around waiting for their checks. Seriously we got the hell out of there as soon as we signed the check. Did we get dessert? And wait around for another hour? Oh hell no. And then we went home and ate frozen pizza(which was delicious).

This place is great! I was able to make reservations for brunch, huge plus, and great food! Andrea was so great as was Yusef! We had the mushroom hash, french toast, burger, blt, and scallops. Everything delicious. Also the bottomless mimosas are a great deal lol.

Gah! I want to love this place, I really do. The interior is gorgeous. It looks like something out of Dwell. I had to stop myself from taking pictures of various paint colors and fixtures to get ideas for our own home. The outdoor patio is adorable. Super adorable even, with ample seating and a relatively quiet, cozy space. Love. The service was abysmal. Seriously so. Someone across the street literally finished power washing a whole wall while we ordered, waited and waited for everything. We’re still here, waiting for our check in fact(We’ve been here an hour and 30 minutes at present count). Despite this, my food, the steak sandwich(can’t remember if it’s skirt or flank given that it’s been awhile since I’ve seen the menu) was half cold when it came out. The half that wasn’t cold was good. The final straw for me was that while the menu was limited, which is not necessarily a bad thing, they were out of half of the dishes on the menu. More ridiculous? They would only serve tots with one of the dishes(They«didn’t have enough» despite the fact that they were out of the 2 other sides I tried to order first). What?! The verdict: I’ll come back at some point when I have plenty of time to wait and I’m in a great mood. Until then, there are other places I’d rather try.

I love the ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant. Service was good… no complaints there. We went for brunch and I had the pulled pork Benedict and there was not one piece left on my plate. I don’t remember the last time I had Benedict’s quite like that! So perfectly delicious. The coffee was a tad expensive but tasted very rich and good. I’ll definitely be going back

Met a friend for brunch here and I’m not totally sure why I was even concerned about the brunch here seeing as I love dinner. It was amazing! Bottomless mimosas in different flavors isn’t had bad either! The wait for a table was no wait for a table. I will definitely make it a point to go back to brunch here.

I was treated to dinner by a friend here and after trying this place out I thought my meal was overall pretty good. I enjoyed the shrimp n grits along with the grilled romaine salad with butternut squash on the side. The grits were wonderful, I love finding a place that does grits right, and the shrimp was sauteed perfectly. It could have used a little less of the red peppers but overall I thought the flavor was very good. The grilled romaine was different. I couldn’t tell what the salad wanted to be, I think if this salad was served warm it would be a hit but because it was served cold the romaine which had been grilled tasted like it was wilted and the butternut squash pieces were cooked unevenly. Some were cooked adequately and others were undercooked. I liked the idea of the salad but think it would do better as a warm salad. Also, I recommend ordering by the bottle here for wine. They can be skimpy on the glass pours. Overall I liked the ambiance of this place and could see myself returning here again for a nice quiet meal with a friend or boyfriend as the service is good, the menu is appropriate for the season, and the ambiance is warm and inviting.

WOW! This place has really taken a turnaround. I origninally visited Café Bar when it first opened. I was not impressed at all! The food was bland and not unique at all. Could have gotten the same dish at Dennys. My most recent visit was a completely different experience. The food was AMAZING. I met the new head chef Jesse and she went over the entire menu and the flavors that go in each dish. We tried a few different menu items: — Cinnamon Roll French toast was decadent but yet light at the same time. I am glad I split this as it was a large portion. — Duck Hash — Absolutely delicious with the right amount of sauce and duck. A perfect brunch item for a mix of breakfast and lunch. — Shrimp Ceveche– So fresh with unique flavors I recommend trying this place for the first time and if youve been before and it wasnt your favorite and really recommend trying it again.

Returned for a night of late night bites with friends, and CafeBar could not have been more accommodating. Last minute — we drop in with a group of eight and were not only seated right away, we also received incredible service. On the menu at the moment — the pork chop — is a must do!
