I’ve stopped into Café Colorado twice in the past month. It’s a cozy little coffee shop with a small stage where they do live music a few times a week. There’s also a nice little patio area out front, so you can people watch while you’re getting caffeinated. I’m on an unofficial quest to find the best breakfast burrito in town, so in keeping with that theme, I ordered the only one on the menu. $ 8.50 for a breakfast burrito seems a little steep to me, particularly since I thought it was just okay, but that’s Cherry Creek for you. This burrito was made in a red tortilla, which probably seemed like a good idea to the person who put it on the menu, but after a couple of minutes the inside of your burrito turns red. Not appetizing. The side of guac was tasty, but aside from that, kinda unremarkable. There’s also a small offering of baked goods at the counter, bottled juices, and the typical kinds of bev’s you would expect to find at a coffee joint. Café Colorado is convenient when you need a caffeine buzz while in Cherry Creek, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to stop in for food.
