One of my favorite galleries on Santa Fe, this gallery is warm and inviting and has a huge amount very affordable Hispanic created art with wonderful themes and symbolism you would expect. Just gorgeous stuff! Right now it is October and as we prepare for Day of the dead, the gallery is choky jammed full of amazing artwork of the season-think lots of skeletons! Love it! I always seem to find something here every time I come and the proprietor Roger, is so nice– ask for him and talk to him anytime!

I love CHAC! This place is one of my most favorite places in Denver! The gallery is colorful, creative & cultured. I look forward to every 1st Friday to swing by & see what’s new, shop in the Tiendita, enjoy the music, food and drinks and meet the talented and very friendly artist & staff. The Chile Harvest Festival, Milagros Del Corazon & Dia De Los Murtos are just a few of the events that have me hooked on CHAC on top of appreciating how this non-profit organization is keeping the Latino culture alive through arts & education. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!:-D

I adore this non-profit community art space. I’ve been by several times during First Fridays and other wanderings down Santa Fe and there is always interesting art and other tchotchkes for sale such as a Guadalupe clock made with images of Mary and glittery bottle caps. The Hispanic Arts are beautifully done and the vibe is quite laid back. Personally I recommend grabbing a glass of wine or a beer, touring the front gallery, the perusing the back shop area, the taking a look at the tents in the back outdoor area, and finally looping back into the other side for more art. This is definitely a highly recommended spot to visit, during First Friday and any other time you’re in the area!

Love everything about this place but a terrible experience with one of the prominent artists here makes me sad to give one star. Hopefully you go and have a wonderful experience and don’t run into the utter rudeness I experienced!

A bit biased perhaps, as I used to serve on the board. But I did so because I believe strongly in this non-profit’s educational mission and it’s commitment to Denver’s arts and Latino community. Beyond the great art openings and annual community events like the Chile Harvest Festival, the Santa Frida Kahlo event and the Dia de los Muertos parties is a dedicated staff and talented volunteers. Visit the gallery and the website and take a moment to learn about their great educational outreach programs and support of emerging local talent — then make a donation to support the next generation of artists and the rich traditions that CHAC has helped preserve for our city.

This place is just great! We came in one Friday for the artwalk and the owner and manager was in. They were such sweethearts! We saw a painting we wanted for a friends b-day(who was there with us, and we wanted to surprise him) We didnt get it, came back the next day but it was gone :-(Sad times. We talked to the owner and she made contact with the artist, who never came through. When I went into the store about a month later, she remember me and asked if I had ever received the painting. I told her he never made contact with me and she felt terrible! I found out later, they stopped doing business with him because of similar incidents. This shows they are sincere and totally about their customers! We find all kinds of little treasures in here and we LOVE it! Thank you for enriching this neighborhood and showing our cultures talent!

CHAC [Chicano Humanities & Arts Council] is an always-lively choice along your first Friday route. The gallery is a great representation of Hispanic artists from the south Santa Fe area but the gallery is not without diversity. On opening night, CHAC is a blur of color and craft. Walls and ceilings come alive with 3 dimensionality. Sculptures pop at you from the walls. There are many tiny, woven, and carefully crafted characters: small people and children, renderings of beloved idols, crosses. It is difficult even to find a place to focus your attention because the atmosphere is so animate. If you are doing the First Friday Artwalk, I highly recommend swinging by CHAC; it is one of the finest. There is always excellent Latin American cuisine — also, red and white wine for a small donation. I made my first gallery purchase at CHACO :)
