This bar made me and my crew feel at home, when we patronized this place in early October. We ended up meeting the bar manager in the parking lot. Apparently, the DJ that was supposed to play that night was skipping out. While shooting the shit with him, he told us about the history of the place and took us on a mini tour of Crash. The owner of the place is also an artist and has some very cool and unique pieces. Their menu has a good variety and is diverse bar food. The inside is perfectly divey with art all around you. They also have an intimate back porch for chilling. Craft beer selection is good, and a nice bartender from ATX. Everyone at the bar made us feel at home, like our good olé bartenders in Austin. Unilocal again made me look like a hero to my crew, who was at a loss for where to go. This place is the exact reason I am on Unilocal.Little hole in the wall dive bars with real people and chill vibes.

Tiny place, but the décor and the atmosphere are great. Short menu, but everything either is or looks amazing. Had pierogis(seriously, some of the best pierogis I’ve ever had). Not typical cheap bar food(although the prices were unbeatable). People there were laid back and awesome and the overall vibe was awesome.

Crash 45 is the definition of a community based establishment. Most of the patrons are on a first name basis with those who work there, and for good reason. There is absolutely no sell out aspects of this fine eatery and watering hole. The kitchen generally closes at 10 but many times I have seen them cook for their patrons as late as 1am. The menu might be your basic bar menu, but I promise you the food is as good as it gets. The atmosphere is always friendly and fun, and the interior design is truly something else.

Their signature burger is well prepared and quite tasty, but a tad on the salty side. Great décor for a dive bar. Service was hit and miss.

Well, color me confusti-…no, flabbergas… no… just, i guess, flat wrong. I didn’t think anything they might do with this space would be any better than the White Owl, but yes… i was wrong. this is actually a local best kept secret. tucked away between RiNo and 25 in historic Globeville, in an extremely unassuming, demure building, nestles a small, eclectic gem. reasonably priced drinks, great theme nights, outstanding art/décor/seating, clean bathrooms, an amazing, original menu, fabulous service, and a divine, welcoming patio day or night. i literally have no bone to pick here.(someone ought to note the date and time.) we love you, Crash.

Just Great. Very friendly place. Feels like stepping into Cheers. Great food too. Personal preference are the burger and the Root Beer Pork Sandwich. And can’t wait for having horror movie nights again on the patio on weekday evenings. Shane, Eleanor and Patrick make this my favorite bar in Denver. Hands-down. Tip: it’s right off i-25 and i-70. Great place to stop for food after a road trip.

Step inside to this house in a isolated dark neighborhood and find a Wall-E looking robot with a TV head. I thought I was dreaming but no there is really a half chopped pickup truck that I can get into and have a beer with my mate. The food looked good and the menu said burgers are grass fed. This junkyard gallery is small enough to walk around and meet everyone. My only beef is that they only offered 3 beers on tap and there is no happy hour specials.

Upon walking in for my first time over a year ago, the struck me as the most comfortable, cool, hip-but-not-showey bar I had seen in a long time — the kind of place I really want to see thrive. What a wonderful, good looking staff. Every Unilocaler’s praise for the food is spot on. The effort to keep local and fresh ingredients is apparent in every dish, and the quality much higher than one would expect from a dive in Globeville. In five years, this place will be the new Sputnik. Rock on, dudes.

Sunday surprise. I went here to watch The Walking Dead with a friend. It’s definitely out there in the middle of Globeville, but I think it’s worth the drive. It’s dark inside, with metal and bikes and a robot and cool lighting, and steampunk-ish type art behind the bar. I really dug it. Plus, the Crash burger was AmaZing, served on an onion bun with caramelized onions. The patty was definitely hand made and tasted delicious, better than homemade grill days. All in all — a good time. The bartender was real sweet, the food was good, and they have Walking Dead on a big screen live. I’d love to do back on a sunny day and hang out on the patio

This is another secret hangout that I kinda don’t want to write about because WE like going there so much and don’t want to blow it and have the masses ruin our good times, but the people/artists who run the place, the staff that feeds us drinks, the preparers of their amazing food, and movie night organizer Queen deserve so much praise, I gotta do it. Crash 45 is almost like walking into a future, slammed with the past, time warp. You’ve got the robot watching you, built by Shane Evans, Owner and metal sculptor: Among his other pieces are the cab of an old farm truck(forgive me car peeps, I’m usually pretty good at recognizing cars as I came from a car family, but can’t recall right now THIS truck.) The bikes on the ceiling, the metal art and re life of metal things Shane brings to the place; its the coolest room to walk into with much to gaze upon. Hit up their website for the best pics of what is going on inside this bar. Shane is the metal extraordinaire. This space was a Slavic speakeasy for 60 years, then the White Owl moved in and now its all Shane’s. Funny how the Ukraine/Polish relations are still lingering here with the food… LOVEIT! We are always treated like friends when we go to Crash, Eleanor knows what we drink, she’s awesome, and Patrick gave us the scoop on the Pierogie’s. They come from the Polished Tavern, via Cezary Grosfeld who brings them by, made(I’m assuming) by the chef Marek Peczkowski, or perhaps Cezar himself, I don’t care how they get to Crash, they are tasty love. Patrick also informed us that there is quite a wide array of pierogies at Polished, and we should hit it up on our journeying. Crash has its own dark arts of food, Chef Wade Kirwin. Wade worked as executive chef at Vesta Dipping Grill. Sadly this community lost their friend Curtis Wade Caldwell of Vesta, suddenly, a few weeks ago. A big loss to the Denver restaurant scene of food collaborations and happy friendships. Send some love their way today. Here’s Vesta’s facebook page. Getting off track here, which is easy, given this community of Denver and how intertwined they are and un-afraid to share. This is what I love. No one is afraid to divvy out a dish, throw in together on a meal, join forces and serve their unbelievable concoctions at one another’s different venues. As long as its eaten and loved and shared by all, everybody wins. The menu here at Crash is small and precise. Only the BEST. Besides vouching for the pierogies, I can also recommend diving into the Green Curry Bowl and the Crash Burger. The expanse of culture on this menu is fun, and proves itself in the pudding. Seen here before being completely devoured is a beautiful hunk of America and a bowl of Asian goodness. Whatever they do to the tofu in this Green Curry Bowl had me completely in love. I wanted to take some home in my purse. This ain’t yer hippie’s tofu. Another fun thing we do here that I don’t want you to know about is the Cruel Winter Film Series that Blood Thirsty-Theresa brings to Crash. Prepared with a deep love that only horror film fanatics have, there are souvenirs to take home with an extra CREEPY factor that I will not share because its so effing great to open these packages up. Cruel Facebook page here. ‘The Thing’ is up March 5th. Pull up a chair, bring a pillow, wear your jammies, enjoy. We sit on the floor with our blankets and video game chairs just like at home and Eleanor brings us our food and its like one big sleep over without actually sleeping over. Walking Dead plays here every Sunday night at 7 with burger and drink special. These are some serious fans I hear, so don’t fuck up their viewing and their sleep over fun. This summer look for the Vintage and Custom Motorcycle night every Thursday. First Friday events/artists/Dj’s happenings all year round. Sheesh. I don’t want this place to sound any cooler so I’m going to stop now.

What do me and the robot at Crash 45 have in common? We both came to Crash 45 from the great borough of Brooklyn! Immediately I was in love. My friend and I had a little time to kill while waiting for Grizzly Rose to open so we popped in here for a beer. At first we were a bit weary about the whole thing. Place looked kinda sketchy on the outside, but our fears were calmed when we realized that it was just a straight up weird, harmless bar in the midst of warehouses. Friendly bartenders in this cute dimly lit bikeresque bar in a rather shady section of town Small yet good selection of beers on tap. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Wish we had more time to kill — would have loved to have seen the place when it was bumping.

What looks like a dive, Scares of those that don’t like adventure, and has an amazing interior not to mention the food? Crash 45! It looks like a «Biker bar» on certain days, however when you walk in you quickly notice there is a simple yet clearly mastered menu. From polish dishes to a burger, stop by for an interesting in delicious meal.

Ummm… There is nothing I love more than their Crash Burger after a hard workout. I know it defeats the purpose of the workout but it’s my reward. I’m trying to think of something on their menu I haven’t liked. The perogis are delicious, the spicy edamame is a must have, the sweet potatoes fries make me happy. They serve Wynkoop beer on tap which supports local business. And there’s an awesome dog that hangs out there. Basically everything I need for an enjoyable late night meal is taken care of here. I’m only ever been on a Wednesday night after 9:00 but I’d go anytime.

We’ve been to Crash 45 twice. First time was impressive. Cool space, very funky, nice owner, and fantastic burger. However, last night I went in at 10:30 to find the door locked. Called and got«Justin» who told me that«it was a slow night». One of my biggest frustrations with new/small businesses is not keeping regular business hours. I understand it sucks when you’re slow but closing at 10:30 when you’re a bar? While I treasure every opportunity I have to go to sketchy parts of Globeville, it will be awhile until this sour taste leaves my mouth and I make the trek to Crash 45 again. When I finally do, assuming they’re open, I’ll likely bump this up to the four or five stars the place earned on our first visit.

Great place, great décor, ambiance and awesome bartender. A true gem with a fun crowd. Can’t give it 5 stars just because how painful it is to try to get home after a fun night as taxis will not go there to pick you up, so plan an alternative.

There’s a lot going on at Crash 45 that I like. Namely the robot surveillance camera. Which really goes under the umbrella of décor. And if I ever owned a bar I could only hope it would be decorated half as coolly as Crash 45 is. Of course, I’m also in deep swoon over the fact that they have Ms. Pac-Man. Yeah, the fast version. The only version worth playing in my opinion. And then there is the food menu with shrimp«corndogs,» burgers, chipotle wings, and hand cut fries. You can add bacon to anything for a buck by the way. We shouldn’t forget to mention the ever cordial and awesome bartenders either. They after all make a big part of the experience. In fact the only thing I bemoan about Crash 45 is how long of a bike ride it is to get there. ‘Cause I sure ain’t driving when I’m out to have a fun time at this fantastic neighborhood bar.

While not a part of Denver I get to often, mostly out of fear, Crash 45 might be enough to make me head that way more often. it’s a nice cozy little bar, with some truly interesting décor. The bartender was very cool and nice. The burger was good enough and the beer selection was just right. There’s a patio I didn’t see and a small game room. If you’re in that part of town and feeling peckish, go pop in.

This was my review for Crash 45. It was initially written under the White Owl, as I also submitted the name change. A little divey, but as sick as it gets. There’s a vintage motorcycle bike night every Thursday and various other events throughout the week. While I was there I heard about a cruiser bike night every Wednesday. I’m talking pedal bikes, people. The bottom line is that great people congregate here no matter what night you show up! It may not be your scene, but you’ll have a great time regardless. I guarantee you’ll meet some interesting people, but don’t be quick to judge, you never know who you’ll run into.

I couldn’t resist when I heard that there was a new(hipster) bar a skip, hop, and jump away from home. While close in distance, the bike ride through the area of Denver that time forgot, under two bridges lined with liquor bottles and sidewalks covered in glass, is more than a little challenging. Once up Washington and over into the sketchy-cute neighborhood of Globeville on 45th with tidy little houses and abandoned buildings, there is an oasis called Crash 45. It was formerly the White Owl, and from what we could tell, a few of the regulars were still holding on. The main room was dark with what appeared to be the original bar, as well as some funky metal sculptures(mangled old bicycles on the ceiling along with some interesting ceiling fans). The website dubs the hood as RiNo. I’d say that’s a stretch. But if it’ll bring in the hipsters, I say go for it. A little room for artwork adjoins the dining room as well as a small, shady patio that shares a fence with the house next door. They have food — mainly burgers and a couple of types of wings. I went for the veggie burger made as a Crash burger. It tasted like a standard garden burger, but the toppings really made it: poblano peppers, jalapeño cream cheese, and carmelized onions. The bun and veggie patty were both cooked to crispy making for a really nice burger. They have a variety of beers on tap and by the bottle. The special was Samurai for $ 3 so we drank a bunch of those. I would tell you to stop by if you’re ever in the area, but you probably won’t have a reason to «happen» across this area unless you live nearby. So I urge you to go check this place out for a low-key night out with good grub in one of Denver’s misunderstood and oft-forgotten neighborhoods.
