Nina is fabulous! There is great energy in this Salon.

Mandi gives consistently beautiful haircuts and is always patient with any tweaks I request. She is very busy but tries to accommodate the occasional change in schedule. Parking is ample on 6^th Ave and her pricing is more than reasonable.

After reading Vee O’s review I had to respond… I also had a Groupon with Nina and had
a wonderful experience.
I have a very hard time believing Nina would «belittle» anyone. Just not her personality! I found her to be very kind — someone who takes the time to find out exactly — what you are trying to achieve. Yes, there is one cat. no hair and no cat odor. I have since been back 3 times and sent my friends as well.
Bottom line… one of the best hair cuts I have had in my 50 plus years of hair cuts… and that’s the most important factor for me.

Rude and unprofessional. It may have been due to the fact that I booked a last minute appointment or that I used a groupon but I dont recommend you see nina. I was belittled the whole time I was there in front of another customer and a colorist. I was spoken in a condescending tone and furthermore ignored the entire time while she chatted with them. I have since found a MUCH better salon and urge other fellow Unilocalers to save your money and go elsewhere. On a side note the salon is atrocious cat hair everywhere and clumps on just the chairs where customers SIT and cats running around. Just plain disturbing.

Cute, tidy, quirky salon in cherry creek, minus the pretense and the expense. Joyce is my regular stylist and is an excellent colorist (see photos). Everyone there is very friendly, especially Jiminy and Cricket (who deserve a good scratch behind the ears for good behavior).

Nina gave an awesome haircut and made a too old to be hip guy, hip again! I turned this mop head over to her expert eye and she made magic happen. Thank God for her help, she can make it happen!

The best hair color and highlight job I’ve had done was/​is by Angelina. It also comes with a very fair price tag. Angelina has the ability to utilize hair color to enhance a good hair cut and flatter ones facial features. I’m a repeat customer because she stands by her work, my hair is healthy and I can relax without having someone talk my ear off –if I want.

I have wavy, thin hair, that is impossible to style, until I met Nina. She is amazing, now my hair is wavy all day. The color is wonderful too, I always get compliments — just did 5 min. ago. She takes time to discuss what I want and has done wonders with my hair color, whether all over color or highlights.
The 2 cats are beautiful and quiet. Salon is spotless, eclectic and relaxing.

If you are looking for someone that listens and takes their time, go to Nina. She has been working on my hair for years. She is the only one that knows how to work with my hair texture, thick and wavy. I have tried others and always come back to her. She is not afraid to experiment and does not try and talk you out of something, I hate that. But she is also honest and will give you her opinion, which I love. I trust her completely and always love the results. She is the best!

I have been getting my hair done by Mandi for about 20 years (OMIGOD am I that old now?) Mandi is a master colorist. I am always happy with the color, cut and style I leave with. I have gotten to feel at home when I go to the Cutting Edge. Mandi and Joyce are great people who do not have a «Cherry Creek attitude.» If you want a great haircut, color and style I highly recommend the Cutting Edge. This salon is horrible. There were cats everywhere, dirty, completely gross! I went because I was going to redeem a living social deal for eyelash extensions. The woman was suppose to do a fill but when i came out I looked like I had used way too much black mascara and the extensions were clumping together. I immediately had to go to Live Love Lashes the same day to get them completely taken off and redone. There was no way I could go in public with them looking like that.
This salon is not recommended and should be closed for sanitary purposes. Cats do not belong in a Salon period!
Do not risk it — its cheap for a reason!!! You get what you pay for…

Mandi and Joyce can do ANYTHING — color, dreads, highlights, extensions — you name it — but for this more «mature» hyper-​about-​hair customer — Mandi is amazing with knowing it’s all about the cut and looking natural. She’ll let me know if I bring in a photo pic and say «how about this?» — whether I’m dreaming or it’s realistic. I trust Mandi to get it right — and she does. People ask all the time where I go — and they become happy campers as well — young, older and… older … but no one, but no one goes out of there as blue-​hairs or cookie-​cutter «dos» — unless it’s really BLUE hair you want as in rocking it out BLUE — then you’ll get it a perfect job of it — but Mandi will tell you if you can wear BLUE or not — maybe you’re a PURPLE !
By the way — have to weigh in on the cat issue — only 2 cats; they do not intrude on the experience, they are great company and CLEAN. Never not once, in old location or the new on 6^th Avenue — have I ever seen a cat hair on anything — the salon is immaculate, albeit laid-​back. Comfortable and easy to be in — as Mandi, and Joyce, take their time to get what you want and need done right the first time.
Do yourself a favor — call them ! If you need the bells and whistles and champagne flutes — go elsewhere — and pay triple.

Love the Cutting Edge. Mandi has been cutting my hair for several years. She is great at listening to what I want and giving me the right style! People stop me all the time to find out where I get my hair done. Just had a cut last night and EVERYONE was loving it today!!!

The Cutting Edge is great. If you are looking for that slick Cherry Creek Salon this is not your salon. But if your looking for a great cut that you an afford this is your place. Joyce has been cutting my hair for the last 10+ years. I have curly hair and she spends the time to get it right. I have sent friends to her and they love her too.

Weird place… cats EVERYWHERE. Seriously. I went for a wax with April and there were 4 cats just cruising around all over the salon. Cat hair everywhere. Kinda gross. The place is really cramped and VERY eclectic. April did a so-​so job, not great by any means. No way I’m going back; something tells me it may just be against health codes to have animals everywhere… just saying.
Uh, OK, owner lady. The place is gross, and I’m clearly not the only Unilocaler to feel the same. Maybe I should look into the health codes for salons in Colorado… pretty sure cats, litter boxes, cat hair is pretty frowned upon. It is filthy, I’m sorry. I only gave this place 2 stars because I felt badly about rating it what it really deserved. Clean-​up your business and maybe, just maybe, the health dept won’t close you down.

Came in for lash extensions with April and I LOVE THEM! I’ve been to other places before but stopped going since I did not like how they turned out at all. Came in for the first time and April did a fantastic job! The synthetic lashes she used were exquisite as well, definetly better quality than the other location I went to and the lashes just turned out to be amazing. Her work is trully worth it!

I recently purchased a Groupon for 3 brazilian waxes from April at the Cutting Edge Salon. I wish I had only purchased one because I was not satisfied with the outcome at all. I have been waxing for years and have never had a problem with complete hair removal, however, this service failed to remove most of my hair. I am blond and I do have fine hair, but I’ve never had an issue in the past at any of the salons I’ve been to. Several sections needed to be re-​waxed, leaving my skin red and irritated. I’ve also had to pluck out most of the remaining hair because, despite her efforts, the waxing was inefficient. I’m a very easy-​going client and I tip well when I’m satisfied with the service, and I still tipped well only because she took so much time to re-​wax me. I also believe that she had some trouble seeing my hair, which is a problem. I would not recommend this salon for brazilian wax services.

Joyce just did an incredible job with my color last night! I had my hair highlighted last week by another stylist at another salon and it was a shambles. The highlights were sloppy and did not start at the roots, so they already looked grown out. The color was a poor choice for my face and it made my hair look and feel fried.
I called Joyce and she did more than fix them, she made my hair gorgeous! She created a fabulous color and I am thrilled!!!
Joyce took the time to listen to me. We spent a good amount of time talking about my hair, what I like and don’t like, what my expectations are, etc. I was really impressed that she cared enough to learn more about me and my hair and what I’m looking for.
I like the salon very much. It is VERY conveniently located on 6^th Avenue with plenty of parking. The salon has a warm, laid-​back vibe. I felt very relaxed and at home there. I can’t wait to go back.
Joyce is so wonderful. She is very easy going and really cares about her clients. I’ve known her personally for a short while and I am so glad I picked up the phone and made an appointment with her. Now I wish I hadn’t waited so long!
I also met Mandi and saw her do a gorgeous color and a stunning hair style on one of her clients.
One thing I notice about both Joyce and Mandi is that they do not rush their work, which I find very impressive. I have gone to salons where I am rushed through as in a restaurant where tables need to turn over quickly, and I am not a fan of this type of salon. I find Joyce and Mandi’s approach very refreshing and very professional.
If you are looking for a small salon with caring, experienced, kind, and talented stylists that is affordable and conveniently located, then come to The Cutting Edge! Thank you, Joyce!!!

I love my haircut. Period.
I had finally had it with my hair. I was attempting to grow my hair out and it was just not working. This morning, I called the Cutting Edge and they were able to fit me in… same day appointment!
Joyce (the owner and stylist) is great. She took the time to ask what I wanted and made sure she understood my preference on all the different details. (e.g. ears covered or exposed, length of hair on neck, length of sideburns, versatility, ability to part on both sides… etc.)
She totally got that I’m a wash-​and-​go type of girl and gave me a great cut that could stand on its own without any fancy hair products or styling in the morning. (Although, it *can* be styled and it looks fierce when it is.)
I reserve the full 5 stars for places that stand out and the Cutting Edge Salon is definitely deserving of every star.
