Cyrus Fanning, DDS

We used to really like going to see Dr. Fanning, and I used to insist that my friends and family go see him too… but every last one of them that had a crown or root canal by him had it fail. How embarrassing.
I had a total of 3 root canals/​crowns from him and within 3 years, they’ve all failed. The new dentist I see decided to try and save the teeth, and lo and behold, when he opened up the first one, he discovered that Dr. Fanning had never bothered to SEAL the fillings properly. He was so angry he was talking about writing to the medical board about it. Don’t know if he ever did. He said he wasn’t sure why I’d had so many as my teeth weren’t really that bad. I mentioned I’d been in a car accident around that time, and the staff knew about it, and he asked if I had gotten a settlement. Then thinking about it, we figured I probably didn’t need root canals at the time, it was just a way for them to make extra $$ off me because they knew I had money to pay other medical bills and I gladly paid out of pocket to have it done.
Disappointing, because like I said, we used to really like going to see them. I had no idea they’d gone downhill, and trusted Dr. Fanning when he said I needed root canals, and that he would do them right.
Instead I had to spend another 3k getting the root canal therapies done, a long and painful process, and then new crowns.
Absolutely ridiculous. I had to apologize to the friends who had gone to see him and had similar experiences.
