Very frustrated with Dustin Lawing of DBC docks. He gave me an estimate in Feb. to replace some piling guides. The estimate was for $ 1,205. When they came out to do the work, my husband paid with a credit card and Dustin had him sign for it on his handheld Visa processor. Dustin keyed in the cost as $ 1,250 instead of the quoted price or $ 1,205. Recently, when we wanted to have other work done on the dock, I called Dustin for an estimate for the new work and showed him the previous estimate and what he charged us. He said he’d look into it. After not responding to the first email, I called and left a message on his voice machine asking for a $ 45 check to be sent in the mail for the overpayment. He said he charged that because the bill was under $ 3,000 and he charges 3.5% for that. Well guess what, 3.5% of $ 1,205 is $ 42.18 not $ 45 so that doesn’t make sense either. Besides, we never would have paid with a credit card if he was going to add 3.5% to our bill. Dustin just decided he’d rather lose our business over his decision not to reimburse the $ 45 due to us.
