This was a good event, but could be way better. Taken simply on the quantity, quality and assortment of bacon-themed dishes and beer, this was a 5-star event, and well worth the money. So great concept. Unfortunately, the event was sorely lacking in execution making it, especially the first couple hours, frustratingly disorganized and downright unpleasant. First, while I like Exdo, I feel the space was just too small for the number of vendors and attendees, or they just made poor use of what space there was. It was a moshpit-like nightmare getting around the room. Either you were bumping into someone or being bumped into, it was impossible to find any personal space – Unless you stood outside, and that meant you weren’t getting any bacon or beer. Second, there was little to no signage of the various food booths. So, you were forced to simply wander around(excuse me, excuse me, excuse me) until you got within 3 feet of a food booth to realize where you might get some more. Same with beer. Perhaps next year they should encourage attendees to cry out«Marco» and vendors to respond«Polo». Or, put flags or hang signs or something. Wow, that’s so crazy it just might work. Oh, the same goes for the impossible to locate trash cans. Finally, there was poorly managed traffic flow– Which likely was an effect of the afore-mentioned issues. If they were smart they would have set up some sort of corral system or something at each booth to make it clear how to walk up, get your bacon or beer, and then get out. Instead of making it the unpleasant free-for-all mess that it was. But bottom line the food was amazing, and the beer was typical Colorado good. If you’re more patient than I you’ll likely have a good time and feel good about the value.
