Stumbled upon the Denver Bicycle Café this past Saturday night. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and demographic of the people. The bar had a bunch of beers to try from and I couldn’t quite pick just one. I talked to the bartender about what I like and he produced a fantastic beer. The bartenders were all friendly and very laidback, best of all they knew their stuff. Turns out Sat. is also their Geeks Who Drink trivia night at 8am. Stuck around for a little bit of it but as is a Sat. night my group had to continue to move on.

This place is brilliant! I took a wheel in to be trued, and got the friendliest service I’ve ever received at a bike shop. Bike mechanics can often be snotty, but not here. ANDTHEYHAVEBEER.

I’m quickly becoming a regular here. If it were closer to my home, I would likely be here almost every single day. The atmosphere is lovely– urban, but not too tough. When the weather is nice, the place opens the doors to the patio. Consistently friendly service, always been treated like a friend when I’ve been here. I love their draft selection as well. It’s great to be able to grab a coffee in the afternoon as I work, then switch to a cold craft beer when the sun goes down. I appreciate knowing that I will have a good experience every time I go in. Only reason its missing a star is that the wifi can be a bit challenging to work with, ie getting kicked off every 10 – 15 minutes sometimes. And sometimes it doesn’t even show up! I highly recommend Denver Bicycle Café to anyone wanting a relaxing and hip beverage experience.

I had an almond milk cortado here that was excellent. The espresso is super flavorful– I’ll definitely be coming back. There’s also a ton of seating space, and the barista who helped me was really friendly. It was laid back and just a cool place to hang out. They also sell a lot of coffee gear– think chemex, aeropress, etc. Definitely worth making a regular spot.

The service here is just absolutely astoundingly good. They have a great selection of local beers. The atmosphere is industrial chic. I only did the beer side, not the coffee, but I would go back for the coffee. I felt so well taken care of. I never waited long for anything and both of the tenders on were so knowledgeable and friendly. Just a fun time!

It was a definitely a great experience. Our bartender was so friendly and helpful. The beer price is very reasonable. The atmosphere was great and it was very relaxing to hang out there for beer or coffee. I think it’s a brilliant idea to have a bar/coffee shop in a bike shop!

This is definitely one of my new favorites! I’ve been here twice and both times were great. The first time I arrived around 6 p.m. I was surprised to find out that the coffee menu changes to different craft beers after 5 p.m. I was meeting a friend, so it wasn’t a huge deal. I’m not very much of a beer lover but was pleasantly surprised with how good the drink I ordered was. Please forgive me for forgetting the name of the beer! I should have wrote a review the first time that I was here. :) I decided to come back a second time to try the awesome Chai tea that I heard/saw people mentioning. It was delicious! The staff was very friendly and I snagged a perfect seat in the corner by an outlet. Double score! This will be my go-to spot for early morning work/coffee sessions. Loved it! p. s. I LOVE the whole coffee shop/bike repair shop/bar concept. Very creative use of space!

Regular coffee and a breakfast burrito $ 7 good deal and they have vegetarian options! Very quiet relaxing coffee bar that not only serves good food but fixes your bike while you wait! They also have a pump out front if you catch a flat! Great location, good service!

This is perhaps my favorite place in Denver. The baristas are really nice, real people. They will have a conversation with you. One woman will talk all about how much she wants to start art and dance parties. One guy will talk your ear off about their beer selection(I call him a beer sommelier). Another will talk about Tinder and how the internet is getting in the way of real interaction. Anyway, they’re cool. The space is nice to work out of during the day but I really do appreciate that they kill the internet at 5pm. You can go in there at night and see people having drinks and conversations with friends. It’s a nice balance of place for internet workers during the day and social space at night. They also have a killer selection of beer and a couple decent $ 2 beers. One last thing: I went it there one day with a flat tire. I’d been getting them 2−3x weekly since moving to Denver(goatheads). The guy working at the bike shop was totally busy with another customer but stopped for a second to see if I needed help. As I was fixing the flat, he comes over and lends me a silver permanent marker to help me mark the hole in the tube. I wasn’t even going to buy anything and this guy took the time to help me. I really appreciate this place. Thanks guys.

Very unexpectedly cute coffe shop. Walked in for a quick coffee to-go and was not disappointed at all! I ordered an iced latte and was happy with it – Price was a little higher than I’m used to but nothing crazy. If I go back I’ll be getting a bagel and one of their pastries!

I ended up here one rainy afternoon when I was working remotely and just knew if I went back to my apartment it would surely turn into nap time. The bicycle café is the perfect place to get a big, cozy latte, and set up your laptop for the afternoon. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast burrito with salsa, and my boyfriend met me later and had an Italian panini which he really enjoyed. One thing I like is that they let you open a tab, even if you are not at the bar, or purchasing alcohol, which to me, conveys they are cool if you hang out for awhile! They do indeed have a bar with a pretty extensive beer selection, and lots of pumpkin brews, and I love the sign on the bar that says«No laptops on the bartop after 5 p. m, we encourage socializing after 5. You may be asked to move to a table.» A place ENCOURAGING work life balance? *mind. blown.* Truthfully though, this place won me over when the boyfriend went there for a repair for his WHEELCHAIR, and they took care of the issue in minutes, and treated him with dignity, respect, and he was able to enjoy a latte on the patio while they dealt with his flat tire for less than $ 20. You don’t get that anywhere in the disability/health care system. This place also has a great, huge, accessible bathroom on the first floor, so anyone can comfortably hang out all day! Thanks for everything bicycle café, we are fans for life!
I think my only star docking is because I wish there were more individual tables, and outlets. I ended up using the long wooden table, and there was an awkward bolt that I had to make sure my laptop and latte were to either side of, but I would have had more space if it was just flat. No biggie, just kind of annoying.

I’ve been to DBC many many times, and I guess I will say I’m a little disappointed in myself for not having taken the time to write a review. Well, here goes — long overdue but better late than never. This place really is the best. I used to live down the street and would wander in here for either tea in the mornings or adult beverages at night, sometimes alone, sometimes with friends. No matter the situation, I always enjoy my time at this little gem on 17th street. Like most places in Denver, there is an outdoor patio that seems to be bustling no matter the time of year. That said, the noise level is such that you can have a lively conversation with friends or concentrate on work on your laptop with equal opportunity. There is also the option of indoor seating at tables or at the bar that wraps around from the café to bike shop side. I’m told the coffee is great, but as a non-coffee drinker, I can’t comment. I will say that they have a wonderful selection of loose-leaf teas and their chai is just the right blend of sweet and spicy. There is a small selection of food, mainly pastry type items(think donuts and bagels) and a few of the sandwich variety. I LOVE that all of their drink and food options are from local businesses. But really, the BEER. They have a rotating tap list that never ceases to amaze in its variety and uniqueness. And the bartenders/baristas(is there a word for the combination of the two??) are friendly, very knowledgeable and seem to really enjoy what they do. I’ve yet to have a bike repaired here, but their prices seem reasonable and I know of a few friends who have stopped in and they’ve done work essentially free of charge. This place deserves your business. Pedal on over.

This is one of the coolest little spots in Denver. It is close to my heart because I had my first date with my boyfriend here. I chose it because it is casual and inviting, serves both coffee and beer(life’s two big essentials), and has both a nice workspace inside and on the outside patio. With a menu and environment like this, I always want to stay all day! I’ve had multiple business meetings here, and everyone has always enjoyed it. Parking is also a breeze when needed, although I usually walk. Fun shops across the street for dresses and gifts, as well as good food spots up and down the street make DBC a staple meeting spot in the Uptown community.

Can’t say enough good things. As an avid fan of coffee shops in Denver, I’ve frequented my fair share. And as a teacher, I’ve posted up most Sundays in those coffee shops. You see a lot in a few hours. And everything I’ve seen at DBC is magic. I was intimidated by the hipster biker vibe for a while. I figured I should only go if on my bike. So I did. And it didn’t matter. There’s an eclectic mix of peeps posted up here: businessmen in suits, neighbors enjoying a brew, college kids studying, and hipsters doing who knows what they do to make a living. The layout is great. Sit at the bar and chat with the baristas/bartenders, find a small table by yourself, share space at the communal tables, or if it’s nice, enjoy the patio and picnic tables, complete with umbrellas. The exposed brick is also a nice touch. They serve your traditional coffee shop classics… and beer. Starting at 7 am. Yes, I asked once. I didn’t love their iced coffee(too strong – I’m a wuss!), but I’ve loved everything else. They also serve donuts and pastries from Glazed and Confused and Beet Box. Smart move, DBC. The best part? I took my bike in when I was having issues. I enjoy biking, but don’t know the first thing about bike maintenance. The guys in the bike shop were beyond friendly, didn’t make me feel like an idiot, and literally fixed me up in 3 minutes – and no charge. As such, I’ll keep going back for bike repairs. They’ve earned it!

I love coming here for caffeine to counteract the carb coma I’ve put myself in after brunch next door. Both times I’ve come, I’ve appreciated the customer service — fast and friendly, and knowledgeable about the roasts. The space is great — part bicycle shop, part café. Plenty of community seating, as well as a lot of bar space for singles. The outdoor patio is terrific too… unless it’s too hot. Minus one star for their cold brew iced coffee. maybe I had it on an off day, but it was decidedly bitter, which shouldn’t happen in a cold brew. I’ve had the V60 pourover, which I highly recommend, but it was too hot today for hot coffee!

Oh man, I found a new place! Just when I thought that Denver was getting a little stagnant, I found little gem off of 17th just waiting to be visited. As previously mentioned by reviewers, you may enjoy a well oiled bike, a tasty cool adult beverage or a boring ass coffee. It’s up to you friends! Ok, it’s really not that exciting, but it is a good place to hang out for a cheap dollar sign. There are picnic tables in the back if you don’t mind socializing with strangers, or there are little work spaces insides if you gots some serious shit to do. Either way, you are going to love hanging out with the friendly peeps that work at this place. If you don’t like friendly peeps, cold beer, or a small paycheck, then it might be time to re-consider your time outdoors. If you do, then YAY, join me at the picnic tables.

This was a really hard review to give. I really really wanted to love this place and give it 5 stars but it didn’t meet the high expectations I had. First and foremost, the service was great. The guy behind the counter was super cool and very patient while I figured out what I wanted to order. My coffee and pretzel came up super quick which was great. So the pretzel and coffee. Pretzel was amazing! A definite order if you like pretzels and lots of salt. The coffee was a disappointment. Just not my favorite — which could just be the brew of the day. My other big disappointment was that the wi-fi went off at 5pm. Definitely something I should have checked out before coming but I didn’t think they would turn it off. It does make sense though as it turns into more of a bar than a coffee shop at 5pm. This is one of those places I would come back with friends for drinks and snacks but not to study.

This place is awesome! It’s so neat, and different. They have plenty of great beers on draft, and delicious coffee. They have plenty of games to play and a sweet big patio. Not to mention, you can ride your bike there and get your bike fixed! That’s two birds with one stone!

I just want to jump in here and say that I really loved stopping by this coffee shop while I was in Denver. It has an amazing space, a super chill atmosphere, and generally solid food and brew. The coffee here was really good and I was impressed that they had three different kinds of espresso to choose from. A pork tamale I had here was kind of meh but obviously this place is all about the atmosphere and beverages. They also served me an almond milk machiatto that wasn’t on the menu, which was super nice of them. I will definitely stop by here if I ever happen to be in this area of Denver again. Pretty great.

A Bikeshop, Taphouse & Coffehouse in ONE! What tha heck is this place? It’s a beautiful mutant, fresh on the Denver scene since 2011! This appealing abnormality is entirely unique. Where else could you have your bike worked on while eating a muffin and drinking a cup of coffee and/or cold beer? Only at Denver Bicycle Café! The Bikeshop is a full service bicycle shop. You can have your ride repaired or tuned-up. If it is beyond repair, you might consider buying something new. The Denver Bicycle Café offers models made by Ventana, Turner, Alchemy and Surly. Customize your new set of wheels to really make the bike your own! Need an early morning kick in the pants? Stop on by Denver Bicycle Café and get your hands on a high quality, locally roasted gourmet cup of Joe. If you need a harder kick in the keister, try an espresso, pour-over, or french press. Not a coffee fan? There’s a great selection of loose leaf hot teas, as well. Oh, don’t forget about the food! Select from your choice of breakfast pastries, cupcakes, breakfast burritos, granola bars, pie, bagels, pretzels, and more! How about a cold one? The Denver Bicycle Café has a wonderful lineup of local craft brews. The selection varies through time so that you can discover new favorites! Currently, I’m really digging the Clan Warrior Scotch Ale from Odyssey Beerwerks. Come on down and hang out at one of Denver’s coolest spots! See you there!
