Denver Center for Acupuncture

Sylvia is nothing short of amazing. She is very knowledgeable, sincere and asks all the right questions. She was able to immediately identify what I needed and provided helpful suggestions for things I can do on my own. She is a great acupuncturist and sound healer.

I was reallllly skeptical about acupuncture until I saw Sylvia. I went with an open yet skeptical mind for a lot of issues (knees, shoulders, back, neck, etc — sports injuries from various ski or bike accidents!). I felt there was nothing to lose and no where else to turn. I did my research — she was in-​network and accepted my health insurance but I also read reviews about her. Those reviews are what propelled me to give it a try.
Not only has Sylvia addressed each of my issues individually and grounded me, she has helped me with a host of other non-​related items such as health, nutrition, body temperature (always being cold) as well as fertility. I no longer have knee or back pain so ski season was a success this year AND I’m looking forward to being on the bike this spring/​summer/​fall!
I would not recommend doing anything physical afterwards (riding a bike, gym, etc) and allow your body time to heal. I felt relaxed for days after a treatment. Every time I went — I was comforted by the herbal aromas, the warmth, the comfortable beds/​pillows and the music. I found myself meditating during the «healing» process and felt not only rejuvenated but relaxed and pain free afterwards.
Sylvia is a breath of fresh air from traditional Western medicine. Most doctors want to see you in/​out as quickly as possible. They don’t really listen and definitely don’t believe in alternative healing methods other than medication, medication, medication. Sylvia takes the time to get to know you, to understand what’s bothering you and recommends alternative ways to «heal» and be well in conjunction with anything you may doing with your regular doctor (s). She believes in healing with diet, acupuncture and herbal remedies. She specializes in women’s fertility and is a wealth of information. She really listens and I truly respect her as a professional. I wish she would write a book!
She sends confirmation emails for your next appointment, reminders as well as electronic receipts. She’s very flexible too as I’ve had to reschedule a few times around work meetings. Sylvia and the Denver Center for Acupuncture receive 5 stars from me!!!

Let me start by saying that I love Sylvia and I don’t care who knows it! The attention and care that Sylvia provides is unmatchable; she listens and is very intuitive. Everything about Sylvia and her office is calm and inviting. Aside from all of that, I truly feel as though her treatments work. I can feel the progress and I always feel like a weight has been lifted after I leave my appointments.
If you’re looking for a spiritual and comfortable environment, look no further.

I’ve been to several Acupuncturists in the Denver attempting to alleviate the chronic pain in my lower back. Sylvia is the first one to really help. Her treatments are amazing. Every time I leave her office I feel like I am breathing deeper and standing taller. I have had less pain and been able to sleep better since beginning my treatments.

Ok, I’ve only been to one acupuncturist in Denver.
On the other hand, I don’t ever want to go to a different one.
Furthermore, this is a review about a specific provider, not of acupuncture itself. Now, I could go on for days about my apprehensions about acupuncture, reluctance to give it a shit, frustration with my particular issues (sinus and digestive), and eventual willingness to give it a try, but that’s not applicable to the review. So let’s talk about this business. Simply put, it is excellent. So is Sylvia.
It’s a great little building, out of the way with its own little courtyard and off-​street parking (a rarity in this area!) There’s one chair in the front room, and that’s all they’ll ever need, as there’s rarely a wait. Appointments are honored on time, service is prompt but relaxed and always professional. Rates are fair, appointments are confirmed electronically, and everything is just awesome, convenient, and extremely comfortable. Cleanliness is certainly a factor, and this place is impeccably clean. There’s so much to be delighted with.
Sylvia is every bit as amazing as the space in which she works. (I’m sure these things tend to go hand in hand, so it’s not surprising.) She’s easy to work with, asks all the right questions, ensures you’re comfortable, and does gets to work.
After your acupuncture session (which will differ, I’m sure, depending on your needs), you’ll find yourself in an uncommonly relaxed state. During this time, you’ll want to focus inward on your calm bliss. Somehow, Sylvia manages to handle all the tricky administrative stuff (payment [even flexible spending accounts!], scheduling, etc) in such an easy, flowing manner that your calm is never disturbed. You float out of the office to your transportation.
At this point, you’re on your own for maintaining that blissful calm. Maybe take a few minutes to relish it on a bench in the courtyard before you dive back into traffic. :)

Sylvia does it all, from non-​invasive sound healing to electro-​stimulation acupuncture. She’s starting up a community clinic, so we less financially endowed folks can get the benefits of her care without the pocketbook strain of a private session.
Sylvia works with each patient in a friendly, caring way that is as clinical, personable, or metaphysical as the client wants. She answers every question thoroughly, leaving a definite sense of her competency. When she’s in the room with you, there is the feeling that you are her number one priority. And her treatments bring relief!
Such a pleasure to have as part of my health care tool box, and a practitioner I recommend highly to others.

This clinic has helped me multiple times to deal with health issues, and I really appreciate the thorough assessment the cheery, happy staff always takes of me, applying a holistic approach to healing and health. I always walk out of the office buzzing with energy and alertness. The clinics approach is to treat the whole person and evaluate your health on every level. If you’ve never tried acupuncture — it’s truly an amazing experience. I had never been to an acupuncturist before coming here. Within a month, good things just started to happen. It helped me to re-​think my diet and achieve mental balance. The range of treatments is expansive and has been able to help me, my friends and family with a whole variety of aches and ailments. Very highly recommended!
