I have gotten massages for years and I find that most massage therapists generally do similar variations(which I can’t complain about!) but they can get kind of old and predictable. Jessica, however, pulled out a few new moves that I’d never experienced before, which was not only really nice in the newness of the routine, but it also felt really darned good and I could see the benefits of. Additionally, she mixed a couple of massage styles in a very well-integrated way that was like a well choreographed dance. She started with a mix of Swedish & some pressure points, then she transitioned into using hot stones. I’ve also had hot stone massages before, and I’ve always loved the heat, but people aren’t always good with them on me because I am a rather small figured person so a lot of times they just end up pushing them into my bones instead of along my muscles. Jessica applied just the right amount of pressure with the stones in just the right places. Then she left them on me or in my hands as she grabbed each new one, and she was so smooth about it that I didn’t even realize she’d left the first one on me(or the second for that matter) until we were about to the third stone! It was really one of the best massages I have ever had, and I would recommend her to anyone that has the opportunity to visit her. She is a miracle worker!

Jessica is wonderful! I have seen her for both postpartum and sports massage and she has helped me feel so much better, and certainly relaxed. I am sending all of my prenatal and postpartum mama friends here:)

Ok– so I broke my neck over a decade ago and have had back problems ever since. I’ve seen over 15 massage therapists in that time and I can honestly say that Jessica has the best understanding of the human body and how all the parts are connected. She’s great at listening, both to what I tell her and what my body tells her. I can’t wait to see her again!

I had such an excellent experience at Sanctuary Massage. This was my first time with Jessica and after many many massage experiences, I have become pretty particular about what I like and she listened to everything I had to say and tailored the perfect massage for my body. She was unbelievably welcoming and pleasant to work with and I just felt so relaxed and comfortable from start to finish. I’d recommend Jessica to anyone looking for the perfect massage.

Hands-down, the best massage I have ever received! I have had massages from several therapists and I have never had one be so completely thorough. Jessica was amazingly in tuned with my body and its ailments. I didn’t have to say anything… it’s as if my body and her were communicating on their own. She was able to target areas that I didn’t even realize were causing me problems until I felt the relief she provided. She is the only therapist I praise.

Seems like this place closed and they are now refering people to Back 2 Health.

Let me start by saying that I’ve had more massages than I could ever count, and I have never felt the urge to return to a specific masseuse… until Jessica. This was by far the best massage I’ve ever gotten. She was able to both make it super relaxing and yet still work out a lot of my knots. And to make it even better, she’s as sweet as can be. She followed up via email afterwards and even took the time to find a song I had asked her about during my massage… now that’s great service! I only went about 2 weeks ago, and have already recommended her to several people. I’m already booking my next massage with her(my first repeat masseuse!)…now that’s saying a lot.

Jessica is the best massage therapist I have ever had the pleasure of paying. As an athlete and trainer, I put my body through its paces regularly and have the aches and pains to prove it. Jessica not only works out the spots that hurt, but finds others affecting me that I didn’t know were there. I could not do what I do without her. Jess’s demeanor is friendly upon greeting and calming throughout the massage. Her knowledge of the body is amazing, and not just muscle tissue but also nervous and lymphatic systems. She knows how all of these affect how you feel and move and works them to your benefit. Jess’s schedule fills up fast, so call ahead and just book a regular appointment.

Jessica was fantastic — she spent 5 minutes reviewing what I wanted and explaining what she’d provide and I had an excellent massage. She hit some areas around my shoulders that I’ve never had massaged before and that really helped. I’d recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a great massage.

You wouldn’t necessarily know that they’re there, but Sanctuary Massage is in the heart of Old Town next to the old Friendship Firehouse and across the street from Morrison House, partnering with a personal trainer location. I was lucky to have come across them, as it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. First thing I’d like to compliment them on is having a range of options. Many spas start at 60 minute massages and go up from there, making a massage something you can only indulge in once in a while unless you’ve got lots of discretionary spending available to you. By offering shorter 30 minute massages, you can afford to get shorter massages more frequently instead of having to wait until you’ve got enough spend money or someone gives you a gift certificate. The prices are reasonable, about the same as most spas I’ve been to in the past two years. There are also a wide range of options. Many places offer just a deep tissue massage, Swedish massage and maybe a hot stone massage, but here there are also the options of sports massages, Balinese, scalp massages and more. What I also liked was that the location was nice and quiet with being too«frou frou» or too«industrial». As a guy, it can sometimes be intimidating to go to a spa for a massage as they can often be all about rose petals and citrus facials when all you want is someone to work out the kinks in your muscles. There is a slight Eastern vibe to the space, but not overly so and there is a slight amount of aromatherapy, it is just enough to do the job without making you smell like a florist shop. The massage starts with a quick questionnaire and consultation, asking you what you are looking to get out of it. What was nice was that they actually listened. I love deep muscle massages and tell the masseuse to be very hard and firm, and they rarely deliver so the result is a massage that is relaxing for the period of time it takes and maybe an hour or two more with no lasting effects. At Sanctuary Massage, I told them to go deep and hard and that’s exactly what I got, targeted on the areas I specifically said were problematic, working out knots with intensity, just as I requested. I definitely will go back to Sanctuary Massage because they give great massages based on your preferences and have options I can afford on an ongoing basis without breaking the bank.

I was in a lot of pain, and I left without it. What more can I say. Ask for Jessica.
