Never have gotten good customer service there. Latest example, my card has a chip in it and unfortunately it doesn’t scan the best. They can easily type in the number but refused to do so. My girlfriend brought out cash and the lady started helping the person behind us giving us the nastiest stink face. Guess they don’t want paying customers money, as a business owner myself, I try my best to make the customers giving me money the easiest thing ever. I would give zero stars but Unilocal makes me give at least one.

***Pay attention to the prices and you quickly realize that whatever the posted prices are, they ring up at the register on an average of fifty cents to a dollar more.*** As an experiment, I’ve selected over 10 different six packs and without fail the price they ring up at the register is not what the advertised price is. They are counting on people not paying attention. While they have a good selection, it’s hard to support a business that is willfully dishonest.

I really like this liquor store. It has a very good selection, reasonable prices and the store itself is neat and clean. I live virtually across the road from another liquor store on Downing, but I drive to Downing Street Liquors to grab a bottle of wine or a six pack of beer. The owner obviously cares about the selection they are providing their customers and it’s not all about just selling alcohol, more about selling a great selection of alcohol.

It’s a liquor store. They sell alcohol. Does it need to be more complicated? On the one, hand, it’s on kind of a dodgy corner. On the other hand, I live very close to it, so, I guess I live on a dodgy-adjacent corner. It’s not more expensive or less expensive than anywhere else.(What is this myth that Argonaut is so cheap? It is not.) For kind of a generic corner store, I’m impressed that they have an email list, an impressive selection of microbrews, the occasional tasting, and some neat architectural features like the walk in wine fridge and the neat ladder shelving behind the counter, which, to be honest, seem so interesting and pretty to be amid stacks of twelve packs beneath fluorescent lights. It’s a liquor store. They sell stuff. Stuff that gets you drunk! A-OK!

Great local liquor store. I drive past three ghetto liquor stores to support Downing Street. The owner and staff are super nice, and they’re really trying to move the place a bit more upscale(the owner knows where the neighborhood is going) by bringing in more wines and microbrews. A bit more expensive than Argonaut but worth investing in a local, responsible business that is catering to the«new» Cole, Whittier, and Capitol hill. Highly recommended.

It’s a full-fledge four star liquor store. They have what I would consider a good wine and beer selection which includes a wine cooler. The liquor selection is slightly limited however. It’s clean and well run however… always friendly and more reasonably priced than a lot of the liquor stores around here. If you happen to be a person that buys beer, wine, or liqour, I think you will find this store meet your needs and then some.

Fairly decent liquor store, most importantly it’s within walking distance of my house and the usually have doggie treats. The owners must really be dog lovers as their policy is to give dog treats to anyone who brings in a dog(as I do). Otherwise… it’s a liquor store. You get liquor here. It’s alot more expensive than the Argonaut but whatevs they have doggie treats! Also a plus is the absolutely sketchy clientele and the fact the kiddie corner to the place is a dedicated sketch pad hang out. So you get some«street life» color to your day while picking up your beerz! Four thumbs up.
