Dr. Gareth Weiner, M.D.

I’ve finally found a great, compassionate GI doctor — they are really hard to find!
Dr. Weiner took the time to go through my medical records with me, answer all of my questions, and treated me like a human being. He set up the right tests for me that all of the other practices failed to do. Additionally, his office staff is wonderful — they contacted my insurance for pre– authorization, set up my MRI with the hospital, and called me to let me know everything was all set up. This has never happened to me before! I’ve always had to call and do everything myself — even better was Dr. Weiner called me within a week with my test results and a treatment plan — that never happens with other practices, I’ve always had to call repeatedly to ask about my results.
It is wonderful to have a doctor and a practice who actually care and who want to manage my healthcare — I know it sounds like this should be the norm but it’s not — Dr. Weiner and this practice are a rare find!

Go to any other GI specialist! First, I was left to wait FOREVER at my first appointment, second I was heavlily pressured to have tests I did not need! The biggest complaint is that I was stuck with a gigantic bill even after being through with the office and my insurance company. Only person that lost was me, having to pay a chunk of money that insurance would not cover. This place needs to be less pushy with tests and much more clear about what codes are used with insurnace, and what is actually covered!

Just as mentioned, Dr Weiner listened to all of my symptoms, showed me a picture of my gut and the possible reasons for the symptoms. He gave me 3 options — two were treatments and 1 was the upper/​lower GI scope.
I agreed to the scope and mentioned my concern for a specific (more rare) issue. He shared that it wasn’t high on the list but he was very willing to check anyway during the scope.
Turns out the more rare issue was the smoking gun — he treated me aggressively and now I feel like a new person. I am so relieved that he was wiling to listen — sadly, that can be a rare find in MDs these days.
Great doc — very bright, forthright and approachable.

Dr. Weiner has an incredible bedside manner. He is straight forward and business like, but unlike other doctors he actually listens to what you have to say and makes sure you understand everything that is going on.
In my case he made sure that I had the medication I needed for a price that was good for me. He even drew me pictures of my tummy so I would truly get what my guts were up to.
His office is manned by a wonderfully sweet secretary, and the walls are covered in prints of beautiful artworks. The atmosphere is very comfortable.
