I don’t know if this being my first elite event gives extra advantage or not, but either way: Woo hoo! Overall, it was a great event as far as I could tell: great Unilocalers(special thank you to Laura!), pleasant conversation, pleasant service, pleasant drinking & eating… …speaking of the oral… ahem… happiness: The drink sponsors all seemed lovely. I personally stuck with vodka for stomach and head safety reasons and was quite happy with the Rain Vodka and soda mix that was so nicely and free-ly brought to me by excellent wait staff. And the food. Ohhhhhh the food. Where do I start? Each sample of the menu(also so nicely delivered and presented) made my stomach happy… except for the fried risotto ball — which, please don’t get me wrong — did violate my dietary restrictions in an unhappy manner the next day, but was worth every wave of pain. What else? The pumpkin curry soup was spiced to perfection with a bit of heat and a bit of sweet — and created mouth watering harmony as it exited its sample spoon and entered my mouth. As a tray of sliders arrived, I was ready to decline when I rewound my hearing aid to find that no meat was involved. Hummus sliders?! Yes, please! I was grateful to have said yes to that little piece of heaven between its cute little buns. And when I saw a piece of probable deliciousness beneath its dollop of white confection, I told my stomach to brace itself because no way was I about to pass up carrot cake. Thank goodness I didn’t. Although, I am sad to say that I am going back to the drawing board for my carrot cake recipe as it has been challenged by Encore’s oh-so-moist treat. Other fun and also great details: exclusive access to the patio was the perfect amount of room for the fantastic Unilocalers who attended(not to mention the perfect temperature). As for the restaurant, it is definitely a place I would return to in the event I’m searching for a beautiful and delicious array of food. Thanks again to Laura(and crew), thank you to Encore restaurant– its owner(s) and those servers who happily knew just what everyone needed, and thanks to the Unilocalers I was able to chat with for the great company.

It was great to be back in my old hood once again. Oh how I’ve missed ya City Park. Laura, thanks mucho for another mind blowing event!!! Bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers– need I say more? I loved the fall menu items as well — curry pumpkin soup, carrot cake, pork sliders, DEEPFRIEDRISOTTOBALLS, nomity noms. All washed down with Samurai from Great Divide, don’t mind if I doooo!!! This is one of my favorite places in this part of town, always amazing food and outstanding service. Btw, I had the Ace of hearts for whoever out there had the matching card. Sad to see that game fizzled out quick. I’m grateful for my last minute invite and thank you Laura and Unilocal for being totally awesome as always. Also special thanks to Hans O for his super awesome asian picture taking skillz. I love these little Elite events!
