Fabric Lab

Great t-​shirts and some pretty cool clothes & jewelry. They aren’t the least bit snobby and were really cool about exchanging something I got for my wife for Xmass. Well worth a visit because there are cool shops on either side of Fabric lab… and after you shop and get a cupcake you can grab a beer at the Goosetown.

I am all about supporting the local… Be it music, art, designers, whatever… But, $ 32.00 for a screen print on an American Apparel t-​shirt??? That seems a bit pricey to me… It is a shame, too, as some of the designs were good. But, literally, it is almost the same price for me to create my own design, pay the $ 25 screen fee, and then make my own tees… Drop the prices down to closer to the $ 20 range locals… Let my dollar go a bit further so I can support you…
Unfortunately, that turned me away from the store…

Locally owned, selling locally made, your buck stops in Denver when you buy at Fabric Lab.
I own three t-​shirts purchased at Fabric Lab, which now rank among my favorites. I love that they’re by a local company.
My only complaint is that there isn’t that much for guys compared to the women’s section. And it’s pretty much all t-​shirts, with just a few jackets and hoodies. Oh well. I’ll keep coming back to see what’s new.

I have to admit I didn’t explore this tiny store as much as I should have because the Colfax Love July 5^th BBQ was going on. Thus I must initially give the shop four stars instead of five. I will definitely go back when I have actual money to spend and probably change my rating.
What I did see I really liked. I believe in snazzing things up with accessories, and the necklaces were highly original; there was one with an old-​fashioned telephone in the center of it, and another one with big red lips. They were only $ 20! You can’t get a cool, one-​of a kind necklace for $ 20 anywhere! There was also this long sleeve button up shirt that was made of several different pieces of clothing, and it would have looked so sweet with a pair of jeans, but it was too small for me. There were dresses made of vintage fabrics, and of course the trendy Colfax t-​shirts. The shop definitely offers plenty for those who want to show off their flair for the artistic. These are stand-​out pieces, so it’s not for the conservative or shy. But I think anyone could find something they’d love here.

I love that The Fabric Lab carries things designed by our lovely Denver locals. There are lots of things in here that are completely unique and totally adorable. They carry both men and women’s stuff including those really cool shirts you see people wearing that have the skull and bones with Denver neighborhoods like Capitol Hill on them.
They also showcase lots of local artists’ work so if you’re not in the mood for clothing at least stop in and have a look at that stuff.
My only complaint is that it’s fairly expensive and that prohibits me from buying often from here. I wish more stuff cost under $ 100 so I could give them more of my hard earned dollars in support.

Outstanding. One of my favorite places. Generally I find clothing stores and clothes shopping to be the height of tedium, but the Fabric Lab is different. It’s a treasure trove of the weird and cool. I’m no fashion maven, but I know what I like and I like this. The clothes move through regularly so if one trip doesn’t yield what your looking for your next will. It’s also fun as a small art studio, showcasing local fashion talent. For you hip kids, you can rest assurred that most any item you buy here will not be seen on the back of another at the Hi-​Dive or Sputnik or where ever the hell you’re hanging out now.
It’s also important to note that this is the home of the «Colfax Boombox 15» shirt. If you have to ask what the 15 stands for, you don’t know Colfax and don’t need one. I do hate to be smug, but seriously…
I’ve sent the Colfax shirt to a couple of Denver ex-​pat friends of mine and they’ve been a huge hit. They also do «Capitol Hill» skull and crossbone shirts. Oh, and be sure to join «Defend Colfax» or «Attack Colfax», it’s important.

True. I like these clothes; they glisten, shimmer, sparkle as they make their way down this runway. Very cute. Thumbs up to Denver DIY designers. Flowing dresses, a little bit of hipster denim, big + asymmetrical hair, over-​sized accessories. Some smoke for ambiance. Heavily shaded lids. Slightly casual style. Men’s most appealing to me actually. Very part-​shelter-​from-​the-​storm Coly clothes – vests and the like. Again, Denim. Shweatas. Mountain-​chic with a little bit of cosmo for flava. Slightly Urban. Cool fashion show, like the the Beg. – two stylists mod dancing, combing/​grooming, finishing-​each model on the way out. How self-​reflexive.
