While you’ll feel sore in places you’ve never felt before after your first couple of classes, after that, you 1) feel yourself getting stronger 2) become more balanced 3) notice yourself becoming leaner. The high intensity interval training has helped improve my sports performance(volleyball) and stamina(for those long doubles rallies in the sand). The workout is a blend of challenging cardio/strength training for 60 seconds on, 30 seconds off, 12 stations, twice around. It can be intimidating at first, but every exercise is modifiable and instructors are always available to answer any questions during the workout. They provide a heart rate monitor to those doing the free week and monitor it during class. The gym holds contests for fun things monthly like paintball(for December how much they donated to charity depended on how much effort each member gave for that month). They also sometimes do attendance incentives and give you a discount off the monthly dues depending on how often you attend classes. The staff is great, and the owners are there weekly teaching and motivating. It’s a great gym to be a member at.

Okay, I cannot say enough good things about this place! To give a quick rundown on what the exercises are like here it goes: This is essentially athlete style circut training. If you played varisty sports in High School or College level sports you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s basically training week all day every day at FIT36. The circut training is high intensity and meant to up your performance level and body pretty quickly; but, unlike Crossfit or Orange Theory, these guys act like actual coaches and treat you like real teammates. They’re very encouraging and don’t want to push you to the point of injury or illness, but to the point where you can be the best you can. If they(or you) feel you can’t do one of the exercises safely they’ll position you into a workout you can(even if you’re in the middle of training). If you’re doing something with the wrong form they’ll gently correct you and make sure you’re doing it right. However, on the flip side if you’re doing something a little bit on the«slow» or «lazy» side they’ll catch it and correct that too. I really love the attitude and atmosphere of this place, it’s awesome! Coolest part is that you also get heart rate monitors strapped to you that monitor your heart and calories! As a female whose 5’8 and 147 pounds my average is about 350 per class. That’s 350 calories for only 36 minutes of exercise! It’s an incredible output for such a short amount of time and super easy to schedule between work and life. Seriously, I can’t reccomend these guys enough.
