For the Love of Dog

My dog does enjoy For The Love of Dog Daycare and is always worn out when I pick her up. However, the daycare is always so full I can never get her in when I need to, and booking a standing appointment doesn’t work with my schedule. I’m very disappointed that I purchased a package at For The Love of Dogs because I found out after the fact that they do not provide a refund. I wish I would have known this when I purchased the package because now I’m out several hundred dollars.

All around excellent. My young, nervous pup is not happy getting groomed but they won her over. They are truly caring, professional, and reasonably priced. Found them on Unilocal and all the reviews are true — wonderful experience from a picky puppy mommy.

Have been taking my pups there for years and they are always treated well and come home happy and tired! Excellent staff!

My dog and I love this place! The staff is the best — friendly, polite, and accommodating. They don’t just remember your dog, they remember the owners too! We have done other daycares when needing boarding, only because FLOD doesn’t offer boarding, and this place is our absolute favorite. My dog always comes back extra happy, tired, and always healthy from FLOD. All the dogs we meet coming and going from daycare are happy and well adjusted, which makes this the perfect place to socialize older puppies and young dogs because they will have the best doggie role models to play with all day.
Prices are reasonable and the extra add on grooming services are even better. Lucky to have this place in Denver. We will miss it so much when we move to Vail Valley this summer. The birthday and winter holiday photos always turn out so well and make it fun to mark yearly milestones with your dogs. Highly recommended!

I have been bringing my pups here for years. This place is the best doggie day care: clean clean clean, super friendly and helpful staff, and everyone here makes you feel like they truly love your dog as much as you do.
They offer full day and half day packages at reasonable prices. And all pups must do an interview before they can join, so you know your pup will be surrounded by other pups with the same temperament and behavior. Our big ol lab gets home happy and exhausted after a fun day with his friends.
They have a wait list for most days, so call ahead and get on the list! Your pup will thank you for it!

By the suggestion of another Unilocaler, we decided to start taking our dog here when we need a doggie day care. It is definitely the best option in Denver, which is why it is often booked up well in advance. Make sure you reserve your spot ahead of time! The pros are that it the staff is very attentive and watchful over the dogs. Also, they separate small and large dogs, and the play areas are kept very clean. They have a bath available, and they do nice little extras like Santa pictures and a picture compilation on your first day there. It’s clean, and you’re required to bring the pup in for an interview and play test before you’re admitted.
My only two negatives (and the reason I’ve removed a star) are that they don’t feed the dogs during the day. This is an issue for my dog who is only 8 months old and eats throughout the day/​is a finicky eater. We’ve only done one full day there, but she came home starved because it was hard for her to not have a meal all day and play that hard. Also, the small dog area does seem a little crowded out times when it is colder out and the outdoor area isn’t as appealing.
Other than that, it’s a great spot. We will definitely continue to bring our dog there!

I only use daycare sporadically, but when I do, it’s so great to know my babies are safe and happy at For the Love of Dog.
The staff is passionate about their charges, and put some thought into making it a safe, healthy and fun place for your doggies, too. It’s the thoughtful touches: separate play areas for the big and small dogs — unless your small dog has a Napoleon complex like my Ringo does, and can hang with the big guys;
No forced naps — but a «chilling out» area with crates for dogs who get overwhelmed; Small pools in the summer — but kept really clean! Plus, pics of your dog during the day, great ratio — and low turnover.
Notes: they do an interview before your dog can come in, so don’t think you can just show up. But it’s understandable. With Bam, one of my rescue dogs with separation anxiety, Rodrigo and Dana even recommended acclimating her slowly. That is, the first day she seemed anxious, drooling and sitting and nervous. I loved that they watched her, and love that they called and asked if it would be okay if she just had a short day, that day — so that she would know I would come back. There are monitors all over the place, plus people who seem to really enjoy their work.
Also, your pet must have up-​to-​date Bordatella and Rabies. It’s for everyone’s sake, and they are nice but firm about it.
So, thanks, For the Love of Dog. I totally appreciate your care for my furbabies, and love that they come home tired but really, really happy.

For Love of Dog came to me as other friends have taken/​take their dogs there for day care.
I like that each dog is required to interview before being accepted. In addition, you must provide proof of rabies, bordatella and distemper shots before the dog can start.
The few times I have been there have always been 4 or more staff members present. All seem to genuinely like dogs and being around them. There are multiple screens showing the different areas in the lobby.
Small dogs stay with small dogs while larger dogs play in their own areas.
If dogs need a nap there are crates available in addition if a dog has just been groomed so they don’t get dirty before pick up.
I was especially pleased with the pictures they provided me after my dogs (Piper) first day. They have a Facebook site to check them out as well.
For cost it is not cheap ($ 30/​day) but the hours are 7 – 6:30pm Monday-​Friday with shorter hours on Saturday and closed Sunday. They do offer ten and twenty day passes to cut down on the daily cost. I believe you can do a half-​day but unsure of the cost.
You do need to make reservations at least a week in advance especially for Tuesdays, which is the most popular day.

This place is the Ivy League of doggy day care. The staff is passionate, knowledgable, and most of the employees have been with the company for years. My dog is always happy going to day care.

My little fur-​baby Oliver had his first day of doggie day care today and I have found the perfect place! I was probably more nervous than he was to leave him all day while I’m at work, but I picked him up and he was happy, tired, and clearly had a fun day!
I can’t thank Rodrigo enough! The weather delayed me tonight and I felt awful being a couple of minutes late on my first day, but he was understanding. For the Love of Dog gets five stars in my book– they clearly care about the dogs in their care. You have earned a long time customer with me– thank you, thank you, thank you!

For the love of dog is one of those special places that make me happy every time I think of it. Although we are now a little to far away to be as «regular» as we once were, I often look for reasons to go to that side of town and so I can bring Piper the coolest dog to the coolest dog daycare. We sometimes go somewhere closer and it’s fine, but there is a certain something that’s missing. That something is heart and soul, which this place overflows with. It’s always clean, the staff is always friendly and I am a huge fan!

This place is GREAT. The place is clean and the staff friendly. I also LOVE that they do not force your dog to take a nap or rest throughout the day. Some other local daycares have the dogs in cages for 2 – 6 hours in the afternoon. They do not do that here and instead the dogs can simply rest when they choose to.
This is my new ‘go to’ place for my dog’s daycare needs.

I have been a customer of For the Love of Dog for about 10 years and feel the quality care and service they provide is the best. Beyond compare! It is my dog’s favorite place to be! If I tell her we are «going to school» I have to be ready to go because otherwise she paces and cries until we leave!

I have a German shepherd husky chow which means big and fluffy hairy dog. It has been a struggle for me to find a good groomer. Not anymore! I am so happy with the job that the crew at this place did that I am definitely coming back! And I recommend it to anyone!
They were so nice and considerate that she is not comfortable at all in crates that on top of a wonderful job they did it super fast. My dog looked so happy and so beautiful that for almost 2 weeks she did not want to lay on soil/​grass.

Dana is truly gifted when it comes to caring for dogs. You will not meet anyone in Denver who will take better care of your furry family members than Dana. I wouldn’t trust my dog with any other business in Denver! The prices are very reasonable and they do great work. Give them a shot! You won’t be disappointed!

We have taken our Boxer since she was a puppy to this daycare facility. And we both LOVE it! She is happy and tired when I pick her up and the staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. Our Boxer was sidelined for an injury (not from their doggy day care, it was a broken toe while hiking). When she came back they made sure to watch her even more carefully. I adore this place — my only negative comment is I wish the large dog play area was bigger! But we are not going anywhere else!

Our dog loves this place. They have a pool inside and they tell us all she does is swim in the pool. When she gets home she sleeps for like 12 hours straight lol

I’ve been taking my mini labradoodle here for about 1 ½ years (since she was a few months old). In the car on the way there, she senses when we’re getting close and will start to whine and cry because she’s so excited. She drags me from the car to the door because she can’t wait to get inside and see her buddies — both the staff and the other little dogs.
My dog is a bully magnet at dog parks, so I love that they separate the big dogs from the little ones. Prices for daycare seem comparable to other daycares. The retail shop is a little pricey, but they do carry some really cute stuff.
For the Love of Dog is a great option if peace-​of-​mind is important to you. When I’m at work, I know that I have nothing to worry about — that my dog is well cared for and that she’s having a great time.

Seemingly good service. Sloppy grooming, especially nail trimming. They didn’t file the nails after cutting them, so my dog’s nails were sharper than before the trim, and frayed. Also, they are pretty expensive.

We started taking our Beagle, Jasper, to For the Love of Dog, when we lived down the street. After moving near DIA, we continue to take him there, driving 30+ minutes passed many other dog daycares, because we know For the Love of Dog is the best.
Drop your dogs off and rest assured that they’re being well cared for!

My drop in at For the Love of Dog today was completely unexpected; I had time to kill and the store popped up as the closest in my Garmin GPS Favorites, so off I went.
.. . and I am SO happy that I did!
From the moment I walked my spirits lifted. The owner Dana happened to be right up front and welcomed me, letting me have some time to myself to roam the retail supply before I walked to the front desk. Once there, I introduced myself as a local pet sitter, and thus began my quick 20 minute introduction to Dana, the store, and the spa and doggy day care facilities.
Firstly, the retail area has a ton of cute stuff — dog accessories, note cards, healthy pet food, cute stickers, and even car harnesses. The self-​groom area provides a large amount of room at each station and was gleaming (SUPER CLEAN!)
Then Dana took me to the day care area. Oh My Goodness — so much fun!!! I wasn’t able to count how many dogs were in the little dog area — there had to be 25 – 30, and Dana told me that every day they’re at capacity, with a waiting list and sometimes turning new clients away because they’re serious about the pet-​people ratio. I completely agree with this — too many dogs can lead to trouble, even if they’re well supervised.
There was a large dog area with a ton of friendly pups who jumped up to say «Hello.» It should be noted that the walls separating all of the dogs are about 5 feet tall — big enough that the large dogs could put their paws on the ledge, but too high for them to jump over. The dogs were playing with a billion neon yellow tennis balls when I met them — looked like fun!
Finally, the outdoor area was not only huge but busy! With a beautiful day like today, the dogs were really enjoying the breeze and warm sun. In the summer, they have a huge tarp to provide shade, and sprinklers to cool them down!
I should also mention that this place was exceptionally clean — SPOTLESS — with no dog «smell» at all. All of the dogs looked happy, relaxed, and comfortable, and the staff was just awesome. I’m really looking forward to visiting DogSavvy as soon as I can!
