Tried this place. Its pretty good for the price. Great portion size. The food is a tad greasy but that is to be expected from a place like this. The Sesame Chicken Was surprisingly good and actually better then most places that charge 50% more for it. Don’t expect polite service, they are busy and in a rush. Respect their system and you will get good food. This place gets a pass from me.

Just ordered from here and was delivered chow mein with no noodles… NONOODLES! When I called back they said it doesn’t come with noodles… Who wants to eat gelatinous mushrooms and hard onions mixed with a little soggy rice??? The dish was completely inedible. When told they would bring me some CHOWMEIN noodles to right the wrong, I was OK with the situation, but they never showed with my sought after noodles. Great Wall has officially lost me and my company’s business,(a hungry force of about 30) after 2 years of ordering from here.

This restaurant is very much about efficiency. Orders in and food food out. Because of that mentality, not enough care goes into good presentation or service. The quality and taste of the food is also below average. I ordered delivery, and very much appreciated how fast they delivered(something I find important), but this was not enough for me. The egg drop soup was a light whitish yellow color, which is not the typical rich yellow tone you hope to see. It tasted almost as if it came out of a can. It tasted unhealthy and heavy on the stomach. The happy family was fine, but not nothing spectacular. Their fried rice, however was very bland. All in all, this establishment deserves 2 – 3 stars

I had the chicken and broccoli one big and stark and broccoli a second nite. Cost is about 10 dollars with drink.

This place is legit if you’re looking for NY/NJ style chinese! I can’t tell you how long I’ve been looking for food like this(YES they have pork egg rolls, YES they have boneless spare ribs). The pork fried rice isn’t the best I’ve had but it’s pretty damn good. Even the faded food picture menus in the place remind me of the east coast. Beware, this isn’t your traditional Chinese place(like Panda Express), it’s real american chinese.

Very reasonably priced and great portions! If you like left overs, this a good place to get take out from. I usually have two days worth of food. The shrimp dishes are my favorite. Their shrimp is bigger and juicier than at many other Chinese restaurants. I have eaten here at least 5 times. Every time, I’m not disappointed. Will definitely go back.

I love you Great Wall!!! Cheap, fast, «what you’d expect» Chinese food. It just is what it is. Great for delivery. Don’t eat at the actual restaurant.

GREAT price for what you get– $ 6 for a work day meal that keeps you full almost the whole day? Count me in! I recommend the sesame chicken or the cream cheese won tons. Those are my achilles heel. I could eat those won tons for every meal if they didn’t have 67897 calories(accurate calorie count). I love this place and I love when my office gets it catered like they did today. Don’t tell anyone but I definitely went back for seconds. Anyone who works downtown is probably still mourning the loss of CHINJA in the Republic Plaza, but Great Wall is pretty close to filling that hole in my heart.

If you’re looking for a fancy restaurant then you’ll be disappointed but if you’re looking for great hole in a wall with good food, then you’ve found it. The menu might be a bit overwhelming, because they have pretty much anything you can imagine. We ordered: –Singapore mie fun: SO good! We ordered a spicy one and a regular one. Very tasty, and delicious! Huge portion. –Garlic pork: I love the garlic rice that comes with it. Pork also was tasty. –Beef lunch special It’s fast, quick and tasty also very affordable with big portion.

I have lived in this places delivery zone for years and for what it is it is perfect. A small little mom and pop type Asian takeout/delivery joint. Simple yet tasty. Sesame chicken and moo shoo pork are my faves. Don’t forget to ask for chopsticks if you order delivery.

I ordered lunch(actually on 12/29/2014, just getting around to reviewing today) because it was incredibly snowy and I forgot my lunch. They quoted me an hour wait, I was expecting it to be an hour and half given the road conditions. Nope. The delivery guy was right on time. He has delivered to me before, and is always so nice and polite. He was clearly feeling rushed(again, road conditions were probably slowing him down), and thanked me for hurrying to retrieve my order. My food was hot and delicious. My lo mein was such a generous portion that it didn’t even properly fit in the container, and I just finished the left overs for lunch today! I also love that the egg drop doesn’t have the gross mushy peas/carrots/etc in it. Great Wall isn’t asian fusion, and it isn’t upscale. It’s greasy, inexpensive, and amazing. Great Wall is the only thing that can truly sate my Chinese food craving.

Christmas Day 2014… I was delighted to find the«Great Wall», was open today, to my delight! Not being invited to any home for Christmas and not wanting to cook, I was hankering for anything open! As an almost good Jewish Boy I clamored for some Chinese… The order was expertly executed and delicious! So, my Holiday Christmas experience was just delightful! The vegetable egg foo young was great!

Christmas eve Chinese food desires are REAL. I knew when looking for Chinese delivery on this eve of Christmas, that I would simply have to find nothing but Denver’s best. My local roommates who guide me through the awesome food scene here are gone and I was afraid. After researching and going through the reviews of several other places I was so hungry that I simply impulse dialed this place, and started listening off what I hoped they had. I feel like I won the Chinese delivery lottery. I am a hard to please delivery Chinese food eater. I won’t even consider another place after this. I love you Denver. Thanks for never letting me down… also roommates are jealous.

Drunk Chinese food. CHECK! This makes us drunk asians happy after I’ve tied one on at a Colfax bar(this happens, a lot). I usually stumble in and order the fried chicken wings, shrimp toast, fried rice, egg foo young. actually the list goes on and on. This is not classy food by any means. It’s dirty and definitely questionable. Also, don’t use the bathroom… scary things have happened in there. However what this place lacks in ambiance it makes up for in delicious, greasy tasty chinese food. It probably helps to fight off an oncoming hangover too(speaking from experience!!!) Also, the people watching is A+++

DONTEVENTHINKABOUTIT! Do not order food from here. I am waiting since over two hours and still am while i write this post. I feel that Unilocalers need this insight as I do not want another hungry Unilocaler to wait for their food into oblivion. I might edit this post once i get my food and review the cold food that may arrive. Update: Beef Chow mein arrived without any noodles in it. Cold and disgusting. The most terrible Chinese in Denver.

We finally found a great chinese place that will deliver to us! Some of the items I have tried are: — FRIEDCHICKENWINGS: crunchy, juicy wings. A must try! These blow other fried chicken places out of the park! — MONGOLIANBEEF: this is very good. Only modification I would make is less onions next time, I feel like there was more onions than meat at times! You get so much though that it doesn’t even matter because its still a steal of a deal! — HOUSESPECIALFRIEDRICE: we have for sure had better fried rice. The taste of the fried rice was great, but again, had better. — LOMEIN with SHRIMP: We loved the lo mein. You get so much and it is tasty! We ordered all that a few days ago and we are already calling back for the fried chicken wings… they are THAT good!

This isn’t a gourmet Chinese place, so I wasn’t expecting gourmet. What I needed was quick, cheap, late night grub. This hit the spot. The portions were large. The fried rice was really good. The pork dumplings had a homemade like skin, like my mom used to make. The general chicken was just okay. Same with the sweet and sour chicken. Decent, but nothing to brag about. I grew up on Mei fun from my mom, and this didn’t even come close, but was still pretty good. I would definitely order here again though. Two combo meals(general chicken and sweet and sour chicken), a large order of Mei fun, and 8 pork dumplings for $ 30 delivered. 3.5 stars.

This update is strictly for delivery since I don’t recall ever actually entering the place. I have tried literally every Asian deliver place within a 3 – 5 mile radius of my townhouse just North of Wash Park. You name it, I’ve tried it — Karma, Hoong Gate, Spicy Basil, Wokano, Thai Basil, Swing Thai, Thai Monkey Butt(I mean Club), 101, yadda yadda. And, I have to say that day-to-day, month-to-month I prefer Great Wall to them all. You certainly cannot complain about the prices and in my experience their delivery is the quickest around.(They deliver just about anywhere by the way.) The speedy service I get may be because they know me pretty well since I order on average of at least once every week or two and they know I’m going to tip the delivery guy well. I’m a pretty good haul from their Colfax location and I have yet to wait more than 30 minutes for my food. In fact, I often comment to the driver that he must be speeding to get down here so quickly. Never once in the probably 100 times I’ve ordered from them have they screwed up my order — knock on wood. Now having sung their praises let’s talk about the food. If you like NYC Chinese delivery(which I do) you’ll find Great Wall quite acceptable — some may find it «greasy». Fat is flavor — you can eat at True Food tomorrow. If you’re looking for«authentic» Chinese or something«upscale» you’ll be disappointed. This is American Chinese delivery/takeout. Once you make your peace with that you’ll be fine. Here’s what I recommend: Crab and Cheese Wontons, Bone-in Spare Ribs(far better than most Denver BBQ places IMO(lean and meaty — not falling off the bone but I like to gnaw on my ribs — a little hot mustard and I’m a happy boy), Egg Rolls are OK but I prefer the wontons, all their versions of Fried Rice are good, I switch off between the combination(House Special) Mei Fun(skinny rice noodles) and the House Special Egg Foo Young(3 big patties chock full of roast pork, shrimp, chicken and beef in the«traditional» brown gravy — oh yes!). I have yet to spend more than $ 20 and have plenty of leftovers for the next day if they last that long. I’ve been known to make a midnight raid on the cold spare ribs.
