I was driving down Broadway and decided to grab a burger at Griff’s. I started to hang a left into the lot and realized it was closed! Whoa! My wife nearly needed to search for a defibrillator. We’ve been enjoying their burgers for years, sometimes driving from Castle Rock. I’m really sorry Griff’s is gone. We lost a unique fast-food establishment that offered something different from the big chains.

The property was bought by a real estate company which is owned by Core Power Yoga. I still cannot understand the whole yoga thing, but that’s probably has something to do with the fact that I love to eat the Monster Meal at Griff’s rather than sit around with some young cute girls trying to hold in my farts!

Crying. This is the saddest review I’ve written yet. Griff’s is closing. End of August 2015. The one in Arvada/Wheat Ridge is already gone. Soon, this one will be, too. What will we do, Denver? Where will we go to get the best burger, fries, and a large drink combo for under $ 7.00? Crown Burger and a few others may be the only ones left. But, they are so far from my house. And, it sucks. Like an empty Griff’s strawberry shake cup. I am preparing to have my last Griff’s meal over the next week. I will order a monster burger combo with mushrooms and bacon. I had the onion rings last weekend. But this week, I will also have a shake. I will have an egg sandwich. And, I will have a cherry turnover. The meal will probably run $ 12.00 all totaled. That’s a lot of food for $ 12.00. And regardless of how much food that actually means, even if I burst at the seams, every penny will be worth it. Because the memory of that last meal will have to last the rest of my life. Pitiful.

Pretty bummed to have to leave this review because I’ve always loved the food here. After hearing they were closing their locations my girlfriend and I decided to stop by with a friend for one last meal. They were very busy and the staff was quick to inform us that there was a 30 minute wait, but my lady was starving and we figured it would be worth it. Before we even got to the register I started to realize that the staff was overwhelmed by all the customers. One sad little man of an employee(who I later found was the manager) was cursing behind the counter loud enough that I could hear him in line. So after we placed our order and waited 30 min I went up to the counter to see what was going on. There was another customer in front of me who was losing her mind, the cashier did a decent job of keeping it together but then the same manager got involved. Instead of apologizing to them for having to wait and messing up their order, he actually argued with them about it. So I work in the service industry and I am usually very patient when it comes to sub par service, so when it was my turn I calmly told them I just wanted to check on my order status. They informed that they would start cooking it now. Huh? What was I waiting half an hour for? I feel like they were just doing their drive through orders the entire time. So I return to my seat only to hear the manager going ape because they have run out of fries. At this point in time he figures the only logical step is to close the restaurant, and he does that by locking the doors which in turn locks the patrons in. Now, any grown human would immediately recognize this as a violation of municipal fire code. I notice, but I bite my tongue and return to the counter to get my meal(which I had to walk them through step by step). Upon returning to my seat I see a boy who is maybe 7 trying to carry 2 drinks and open the door, which is locked. So I open the side door for him and return to the front and unlock that door as well. Other patrons saw me do this and commented that they can’t believe he locked it in the first place. Golem soon comes flying out from behind the counter demanding to know who unlocked the doors. I told him it was me and that what he was doing was illegal and he’d need to send an employee outside to deter customers from coming in. He then tried to inform me that it’s only illegal if they’re chained up(?) and that he knows what he’s doing. So I explained to him that as a former firefighter, I probably have a better grasp on fire code than a manager at a burger joint and I’m not going to be locked in here. He sulked away back into the kitchen, shit talking me under his breath. The meal itself was very meh. It was obviously rushed and probably the worst food I’ve ever gotten from there. Really sucks cuz it was my girls first time there and I had hyped it up so much. Throughout the meal myself and other customers kept having to unlock the doors which kept getting locked. It’s really a shame to see how bad this place has gotten in just the last year. Completely incompetent management(same guy once told me that it was too late to get a milkshake, when I protested he changed his tune which to me means he just didn’t want to make it in he first place) 2 stars just for my fond memories of the first times I had griffs.

My 100th review! Griff’s. In Denver since 1966. Griff’s. A place of goodness. Griff’s Hamburgers, or Griff’s Burger Bar, a regional fast food chain founded in 1960 by Griff’s of America, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri, United States. The Denver restaurant, built in 1966, was built in the patented A-frame building design, produced by Valentine Diners of Wichita, Kansas. The burgers have a delicious seared flavor. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. I much prefer this fast food to the mega business offering alternative. This place is quaint and awesome. Add bacon. You’ll be glad you did.

I’m comparing this to bbops in Des Moines. Very comparable. Burgers are super tasty. Fries are okay, maybe we got some off ones but they didn’t have too much flavor to them.

Both the burgers we ordered were soggy. Didn’t finish my burger. Liked how I could add lettuce and tomato, though. Fries & onion rings were good.

I need to step up & set the record straight! These bad reviews are by people who are accustomed to processed fast food burgers so when they actually eat real meat they think it’s bad. GRIFFS is old fashioned quality burgers! No frills just real tasty burgers n fries! Don’t come here looking for fancy dining … This is just a hearty burger with real people coming through. Ignore all the bad reviews & go to GRIFFS for the tastiest burger in Denver!

I know it is just a fast food burger and I typically don’t eat fast food burgers but these are disgustingly good burgers. Fries are Meh but if you’re feeling a bit salty after a fun night and want some greasy goodness on the go then this is your spot. Feel free to wash it down with a tasty beverage.

I so badly want to like this place. Griffs is a charming old school burger joint. It’s cheap greasy and has killer milkshakes. The reason that I can’t bring myself to really enjoy this place is because it’s SOO dirty inside! The food is ok, my burger and fries were a little bit dry. I went in around 10:30 am and it was completely filthy. I’d hate to see the kitchen area.

An average hamburger stand with above average burgers. The easiest way to compare this place is like a run down sonic. With there being no sonic around for miles this place will cure your craving. Buyer beware –their Large soda is similar to the size of a football! It’s massive but also consists of 75% ice… Ask for«easy» ice. They really need to re-do their drive through menu board, pieces of paper taped up does not look professional. I went in expecting a 3 star experience, received exactly that and I’ll go back expecting the same thing.

It is what it is. Delicious greasy fast food. People complaining about service? It’s fast food, a meal cost $ 6 haha get over it … I don’t have a service standard for fast food, as long as the food is tasty, and it is. Fries and onion rings are nice and crispy, burgers are juicy. Perfect hang over cure. It was my second time visiting today and certainly will be back when I have that burger n shake craving again. Chili dogs and shakes are also good, haven’t had anything«bad» here.

Feeling a little sad about Griff’s. I used to love this place. Today I had a chicken sandwich meal deal and the fries were sad and soggy and not even warm. And the chicken sandwich was rancid. Yup. Rancid. I could not even eat it. I used to love this place. Boo.

If you long for that cafeteria style burger from elementary school, this place has got you covered. A colorless, unseasoned patty that I do suspect is a straight buyout burger will be atop a hot– house tasteless tomato(even in September), with an un-melted imitation Kraft single. The roll was not horrible, decent fries. I asked for onion, meaning sliced onion. This is the only onion that should be served with a burger. Diced onions are for hotdogs; it’s like ketchup and mustard. I can’t even take them seriously at this point. Tawlk to da hand.

The difference between 3 and 4 stars is the logo. How creepy is that. I love the little star eye’d Griff on the website holding a hammer letting people know there is a new website coming soon. Cute… Like Chucky. Anyway, this is a classic greasy burger joint. A good flat top American delicacy. Well done. Lot’s of American«cheese.» Good sear on the patties. Plenty of grease to go around. The fries were technically a disaster. They weren’t as bad as I’ve seen. If you want fast food old school, come here.

Don’t go here. Rude owner/manager! I have 30 minutes for lunch and I was The phone with my mother who is 2000 miles away. I was trying to multitask talk to her and grab lunch quickly. She put me hold while I was about to order. The guy refused to take my order if I had a phone in my hand or even answer any questions! Seriously I’m ordering a burger and fries?!? And he made some rude remarks. I ended up walking out. I wasted half of my lunch driving out of my way. I can’t believe he wouldn’t serve me because I was on the phone. Never will I go back and hope other people stay away.
