Georgia gives amazing insight and critique on the work. Her personality is unique and bright she lights up a room when she walks in to it. I recommend having a conversation with Georgia when attending the gallery

Georgia Amar She cant be more than 5 foot and about 90lbs. But puts off enough energy to fill a room. I have often times been curios about Habitat gallery. They don’t seem to change the art out as much as some of the other galleries and I always thought it looked more like a home/studio with the living room adapted to be a gallery. After hanging a show of my own just down the street. I went out for some lunch and popped into Habitat. Georgia was in the front packing up some of her screen prints to be shipped off. We got to talking and I came to realize what an amazing person I had just met. She is mostly self taught(at least in printmaking). She seems to be very successful in her pursuit of art as a career.(Something I admire as this is the same thing I am pursuing) and she seems extremely eager to share art with others young and old. Including putting together a children’s art camp. Ask her to see the works of the attending children. She will describe everyone of the them as a young Picasso and describe their works as masterpieces. I would have to agree. This woman is amazing! Both her and Habitat Gallery are assets to the Denver community. When asked about having the same work showing month to month. She replied«I am not going to replace great work with work that I feel is not as good». This shows how strongly she backs the artists she represents. And support like that is surely welcomed in such a fast paced world. Its hard enough to create, let alone deal with the marketing and sale of artwork. I highly recommend this Gallery! If possible I also recommend a short chat with Georgia. To any negative reviews about this gallery I would say«To each there own» I look forward to my next visit

Well… one phrase fits this place well: Salvador Dali want-to-bes I like Alex’s characterization as inspired by Pink Floyd album covers… yeah sounds about right. Seriously, just not super-impressed by the work in here that looked more like a college Freshman studio than an art gallery in a major city. —- Updated: Apparently my 2 star review wasn’t taken so kindly by the ex-head of Habitat gallery… here is what Jack P. sent me While we appreciate you coming down here and enjoying yourself, I recommend you take it easy on trying to play art critic. Please leave that to the professionals. Your«reviews» are really not very funny, accurate or informative to any other than perhaps a teenager. Sorry, that’s how they come off. — Well, he doesn’t have anything better to do apparently. In any case, this place now gets a 1⁄5 for tackiness of director.

At first glance I thought I had stepped back into my freshman year in college when I lived in the dorms. The painting closest to the window reminded me of Pink Floyd, and although I like Pink Floyd, we certainly don’t need another artist feeling so inspired that they draw an image almost exactly the same as the Dark Side of the Moon cover. The most current event is the Four Nations, One Spirit showing, which includes work from four different artists from four nations. As you can imagine, not all of them are Pink Floyd-ish, but why in God’s name would they put that by the front window? When there isn’t a special showing, the owner, Georgia Amar, displays her glass work, which is always glamorously glossy and fun to look at. * Star one is for being on Santa Fe drive and part of First Fridays… Gives me something to do ** Star two is for making artists stars by putting their work in your gallery and making the artist happy *** Hey there stranger star three is for bringing community together… Especially to analyze!
