Pretty good first experience, was a busy lunch hour with large graduation parties going on. Even with that, the service was attentive. My lunch date didn’t get what she ordered, a salad miscommunication, but she ate and enjoyed it anyway, and the waiter discounted our meal. I had the Huevos Rancheros. Would gladly return.

The mark of a good Mexican restaurant for me is the chips and salsa. The chips and salsa here are quite tasty so it was a good start to the meal. We had the queso for an app and it was the best queso I’ve had. Spicy and cheesy, it was delish. For my main I went for a chili rellenos with beans and rice. I like that you can order a single relleno with optional beans and rice. The relleno had an odd flavor almost like clove. I couldn’t quite place the flavor but it was in the egg batter and not my favorite. Overall I think it was decent standard Mexican food.

I fell in love with the place before I even walked in. I felt like I was overseas on a vacation in this place. The service was fantastic and food was so traditionally delicious. I loved it!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Denver. The lines on weekends may be getting longer and longer but the food is served quickly and is always inconsistently good. They have not let me down yet and are one of the best run places to go with a family, group, or as a couple.

Great place with great margaritas. Our waitress, Rocio, was very attentive and also hilarious. It’s obvious by taste and by attentiveness that everyone that works there works their hardest to make sure that it’s a positive experience. Awesome happy hour too!

Terrible dry fajita steak. They give you mainly onions and maybe a few peppers. My husband did not enjoy his plate either. This place used to be amazing but it’s gone down hill unfortunately.

Mmmm. The margs are great, the food portions are huge, tasty and rather inexpensive for their size. Not a huge fan of their queso unfortunately– it’s kind of greasy and«chunky». That’s not the best word, but it’s like the types of cheese they use don’t blend together well so it’s separated to a degree… Overall love the service, flavors and atmosphere. A little loud, but fun. We live closeby so will certainly be back!

Great, clean place, friendly service. Their happy hour menu is great and if you’re going for the margarita, get a pitcher theyre much cheaper and you can share with 3 – 6 people. Even during the busy time’s the service is pretty fast and they are very attentive. After you order the weight is pretty long but that’s probably because we go during the most crowded times. Atmosphere is great, Lively, with great décor and a sunlit dining area. I love their burritos and tried the skillet, but it was pretty bland and steak meat was tough. Guac is phenomenal, even better in my book because if the portion size! Complimentary salsa is good, just an average salsa. This place is fool proof if you’re craving good Mexican!

Amazing experience at this restaurant! I had a surprise birthday party here with about 20 people or so. All the staff was extremely helpful and kind and got us anything we wanted. We were probably loud and obnoxious but they waited on us hand and foot. The top shelf Margaritas were the best and everyone in our party was happy with the food. Amazing place to celebrate a birthday!

No hours posted. Door was unlocked and I walked in. I was escorted out and made to feel like an idiot. Also, I was confused because people were inside, eating.

We love this place. Although we have been coming here for several years, today was my first Unilocal check in. The food arrives very fast and comes piping hot, the customer service is exceptional, and the restaurant is always very clean. Coming in today, I saw they updated a lot of their wall art and light fixtures. Looking good! They make homemade salsa fresh, so the bite is different every day. I feel like I get lucky when I come in on a day where the salsa is very spicy. One thing to keep an eye on, though, is that the staff will always try to upgrade your drink or your meal. They will ask you if you want a top shelf margarita or if you want rice and beans to add to your meal. It is a very good sales tactic to increase average ticket price and will catch you off guard because most places don’t do that. I made that mistake when I came in for happy hour one time and ended up paying a lot more for my margarita than I was planning. Overall this is a great little spot for lunch or dinner. Oh, and we had them cater one time for my mom’s surprise birthday party a couple years ago. It was such a fantastic experience, this restaurant will forever be one of my favorites. They literally gave us a punch bowl full of salsa. I’m a non-recovering salsa addict. It was a glorious day.

Authentic, well priced, great service and atmosphere! Beer on tap, huge margaritas, delicious homemade salsa. This is pretty authentic Mexican — the way it’s made and severed, plus most wait staff speaks fluent Spanish. The entrance is on the side which is awkward — and they have the hostess doing too many things. A dedicated hostess staff would help.

We have been to this location a few times. I have never been impressed with the service but the last time we went it was abhorrent and the food was mediocre at best. The service was bad enough that I was tempted to walk out but stuck it out and gave a full 20% tip. Didn’t feel right about that the next day and called to update the manager about the poor service . He wasn’t receptive at all and rushed me off the phone. I will never go back.

So yes I am back again and this time I am trying the combinations plate. I’m having 2 tacos and a cheese enchiladas. It taste exactly how it looked delicious, I loved it service was fast and very attentive and I notice more people here each time I visit, I guess the word is getting out how great this place is.

Came in during lunch time and it was very quick. Service was good but the food was very tasteless. I had a chimichanga smothered in green chili and although it was a great portion, it just had no flavor. I would give it another try but definitely will try another food item.

Went over to La Fogata with a couple friends for happy hour last week. Cruised on in around 415 on a Friday and it wasn’t too crowded. Looked like they were getting pretty full by 6 though. The service was wonderful— we had a few people checking in on us and everyone had a big smile. The chips and salsa were also delicious, as was the guacamole. The guacamole portion was HUGE though. Way too much for 3 of us. My only complaint was that the queso left a little to be desired. Huge portion there as well but not my favorite queso.

Pretty good place all in all. The food is tasty, filling, plentiful, and has always been spot on. The drinks are tasty as well, and decently strong margaritas are always a welcome surprise. Price is a BIT on the upper end of things for a Mexican place, but not really an issue, more of an observation. Not my favorite place in town, but it’s up there. Been here multiple times, will continue to be back.

We’ve eaten here the last two weeks after my kids get done playing sports across the street. So far, it’s been very consistent with service and food. The place always looks packed but we’ve never had to wait. The staff seems friendly and not short handed, which makes for speedy service. The salsa is on the hot side, which we like but he kids not so much, and they’re generous with refills of both chips and salsa. I’ve had the Patron Margarita both times and it’s very good . Kids meals are generous. We’ve had the bean/cheese burrito, cheese quesadilla, hot dog, and grilled cheese. Kids were happy. Burritos are generous and good and I had the combination plate last time and really liked it. Price is right, service is good, and food was yummy. We’ll be back next week.

Margaritas and good Mexican food, what else could this tourist ask for? I stumbled upon this place 2 years ago when I was in town for a Broncos game and have made it a point to visit each time I am in town. They have some of the best Mexican food that I have ever tasted and this is coming from a guy who’s family is half Mexican. The salsa and fish tacos are my favorites. They also have a daily happy hour where you can get a 12oz house margarita for $ 4. And let me tell you, they are delicious. The service here is also excellent and very fast given the amount of people that are here in a continuos basis. I have seen the popularity of this place boom since the last time I visited til now. If you are craving some good authentic Mexican food and margaritas, definitely steer you ship on down to la fogata.

I like La Fogata. We went to their Evans location several months ago. Their salsa is delicious, just the right amount of tomato-y spiciness. Our server was friendly and kind. He brought me a delightfully refreshing cucumber martini. I had the beef fajitas. They were a little overcooked, but a good flavor. The portion was quite large, though. Their green chili is good, from the taste I had from my husband’s meal. It’s the good New Mexican green chili(as opposed to Colorado green chili which has too much tomato for my taste).
