My friend and I wanted to explore something new in Denver. We took advantage the beautiful weather and grabbed a cocktail on the patio. The cucumber lemonade was dangerously delicious and perfect for a summer evening. Can’t wait to come back and try the food in the future!

Lola’s is amazing. I was in Colorado visiting friends and family and my friend opted to take me here. She thought I’d love it and she was not wrong! However she failed to mention that it is called«Lola’s COASTAL Mexican»… and I am very allergic to fish/seafood/shellfish. Unfortunately we came toward the end of Sunday brunch and it was extremely packed so we waited maybe 20 minutes until people start filing out(many were there to support a live band performing) but we ended up deciding to sit at the bar where the bartenders were so warm and welcoming. To thank us for the deciding to sit at the bar, the hostess came over and gave us a coupon for free chips & guac(which was amazing). I decided not to have a drink despite sitting at the bar because I had a flight to catch, but their tequila collection looked quite enticing. I ordered the carne asada entrée and wow, this dish was out of this world. The carne asada was cooked well and that yam-cactus hash caught my eye and confused me and my taste buds a bit at first, but it was such a pleasant surprise. The burnt arbol aioli and chimichurri combined with this entire dish made for such a delicious meal. I can’t wait for the next time I’ll have the opportunity to come back to Lola’s!

Great service, great food and accommodating friendly staff. I have a lot of allergies and love going out, which can be challenging. Not so here at this lively, fun modern eatery. Music loud upon our arrival, but staff found us a quiet booth at our request. We then had a lot of questions and were met with gracious replies and great suggestions by our server. Food delicious, great drinks and interesting menu. Took a pic of fabulous guacamole custom made by Jesse, so personable… along with great menu but a no go for attaching now, sorry !

Love the food! Love the drinks! Love the atmosphere! 5 stars for those 3! However the host should be the friendliest, nicest, first impression of the restaurant. Totally not the case at Lolas on Sunday 6⁄12 around 4:30pm. The guy was completely rude & cut me off mid question with a huge attitude. I get it, it’s a busy sunny Sunday day. But don’t be all snappy as soon as I walk into your establishment, it turns customers off. Enjoy the restaurant/food/drinks but look past the jerk of a host!

I love Mexican food and I love seafood. Needless to say Lola is pretty much a match made in heaven for me. Everything from the Veracruz to the red snapper to the paella on Sundays is always fantastic. I’d love to see some spicy house salsa’s as there house salsa is a little bland but that’s just being picky. They also have an amazing Happy Hour if you can get in early enough!

I love Lola’s!!! They have the best happy hour deal every night of the week — two chicken tacos and a beer for $ 5, can’t beat it. Also, happy hour is all day on Mondays so if it’s your first time I suggest going then so you can try some more dishes than you would normally. I am really picky with guacamole and they do a great job making it to your liking by the table! I shared a couple of entrees with my group last time — the carne asada was my favorite and I was not a big fan of the mahi tacos but if you like kimchi/pickled veggies then it’s a successful dish! Their cocktails are on point too and it has a great atmosphere! I’d recommend making a reservation since it’s a popular spot.

My wife and I had brunch here recently with some friends. We had been here for drinks previously, but this was our first dining experience. I had the chicken fried steak, and my wife had the Horchata Pancakes. Both were phenomenal. Their Bloody Mary’s were also top notch. Highly recommended.

These guys put on a great generous Cinco de Mayo celebration! It was an arduous journey for me to find this location, but after going down the wrong street twice, and asking two people that had no clue; third time was a charm. Some nice stranger was nice enough to look it up online, and told me I was 200 meters away. If you cut through the park at Little Raven, you can walk or ride straight through a few bridges, and up hills that reminded me of being in downtown SF. When I arrived I really felt like I was in SF. The people, the vibe, the area is very similar. The Anejo Marg. I enjoyed very much! The service was really on-point even considering it was at capacity upstairs. My goldmine seat allowed me to also enjoy a Howdy Pilsner that is an American take, so less diacetyl, and more hoppy/malty boldness. The chicken slaw tacos are money, off-the hook goodness. The vibe was really good too with well dress beautiful ladies, and laid back dudes chillin out to Grateful Dead covers, I think the band was Haight & Ashbury, but IDR.

The service was great but the size of the plates were very small. We thought a large plate was meant to be split. It was not. It’s also on the pricier side. Food was enjoyable but chips and salsa are not included! Go on a weeknight to avoid the wait.

I absolutely loved this place! I was visiting Denver for the weekend and we were looking for a fun place to have some cocktails & snacks. We ended up staying for 3 hours! Great atmosphere, beautiful patio, and awesome tacos & drinks! My first drink felt like a spin on a Bloody Mary. It was served with an inch of spicy tomato juice, a chile lime popsicle, and a beer. It was a little heavy but good nonetheless. Also had a classic margarita & my friend had the vodka cucumber lemonade which was very refreshing! We already had brunch somewhere else so didn’t take advantage of the full menu, unfortunately. Neighbor table did order guac & they make it fresh, tableside. I ordered a fish taco, just to try, and it was awesome! Only $ 3 for happy hour! They have some other great deals as well that definitely should be taken advantage of on a sunny weekend!

This is my favorite place in Denver for tacos. They are simple and always executed to perfection. My favs are the Pork with burnt pineapple and Carne Asada! Wasn’t overly impressed with the shrimp ceviche Appetizer but again they keep things simple to let the ingredients speak for themselves. The front of house staff are some of the friendliest I have come across, they always ask how our day is and are super helpful. Since this place is so awesome it tends to be busier than maybe they plan on? I’ve been multiple times out on the porch with SLOW service and heard chatter from the servers of being short staffed. Regardless they have delicious drinks and food with a great atmosphere no matter if you go for brunch or happy hour.

«Lowwwww-lah. El-oh-el-aaaay. Lowwwww-lah.» Talk about being a fan. Go listen to the Kinks 1970 song«Lola» and tell me it doesn’t totally rock out… as does Lola’s Mexican Fish House. Well, Lola’s in LoHi has got a great HH which runs all night on Monday’s and their $ 5 marg is absolutely a deal. My honey and I stopped in for an early dinner and got to sit at the raw bar /tasting table. Spent the night talkin’ with Phil who was kicking that raw bar’s butt and making some great HH appies, too. Also had a very unusual and excellent octopus main course that was bbq’d in a cola marinade(if you can get your head around that;). My sweetheart really enjoyed her Veracruz-style grouper, and all-in-all we couldn’t have had a more fun or tasty evening. Loved the people there. Loved the high energy atmosphere. And loved the experience. David«It’s a mixed up muddled up shook up world”* M * From the last refrain of «Lola»

Came to Lola on a Saturday evening without a reservation(oops) — luckily we were early enough to sneak in with a 90 minute time limit before they needed our table. Waiter showed up quickly with water and took our drink and app orders, helping us keep to our deadline. The service stayed attentive and friendly, and our water stayed full and plates moved along as they were cleared. First, the drinks and apps. I had a plain silver margarita that was balanced and refreshing, and my date had a cucumber lemonade that was unfortunately less so — it was basically pure vodka. The apps, however, were wonderful — we had the dip trio and I was a particularly big fan of the pumpkin seed & habanero purée. The actual food — we split sweet potato enchiladas(yum!), fundido(yum!), and the vegetable fajitas(definitely yum!). Everything had a great balance of flavor. Unfortunately they had 86’d the octopus for the evening, as that was something we really wanted to try. Guess we’ll just have to come back!

Cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. The service was over the top amazing, they accommodated both of us at the table with food allergies and were beyond gracious about it, never making us feel bad and the atmosphere /décor is fabulous. The chef knows what he’s doing. Booked another trip to Denver and hope to go back.

Oh Denver, how I love thee. Came to Lola with some coworkers hoping to get something I can’t get back home in SLC. The menu has a lot of fish(obviously) so us fish haters have limited options. Started the night with an amazing table side guacamole and some kind of queso that was what i assume can only be filled with an addictive drug. So good. Everyone i was wish got fish dishes and i got the carne asada. We all felt pretty similar about our food… it was good but not great. Smaller quantities and fell just short of 5 stars. Why 3 stars? 2 things. First, the food took forever. It was busy so I understand. Second… my carne asada was good, but with a big asterisk. It was brought out rare, and i asked for well done. Not a huge deal, but for as good as it tasted, more than half my dish was gristle. Sad day… Had i gotten something without all the chewy-unedibleness, i would have really enjoyed myself. I’d definitely go back to give it another try.

This place is great for neighborhood spot for brunch and margaritas. Been for brunch a few times and everything is always delish! Chicken and waffles has a nice twist on a classic, the pork on the torta was really good, the special was portioned well and tasty(however, would have preferred by poached eggs runny and not boiled over) and the horchata pancakes are not overly sweet and have the texture of cake! Went for dinner once, and didn’t love it. The dinner food and service is a little slacking comparatively. Don’t go if you are expecting a traditional Mexican restaurant with traditional Mexican food.

It’s like a zillion dollars but the octopus entrée is on point. It also pairs astonishingly well with Prost’s Howdy American Pilsner. Alway sit on the patio and you’ll(almost) always be immediately seated. Use the bathroom no matter what.

This was the second time I had been here. We came here for New Year’s Day brunch. Every item on the menu that our table ordered was delicious, yes I did sample from everyone. My only gripe and it is actually very minor is that we ordered the large guacamole and when all was said and done after they made it at table side, it seemed like it was not enough to go around for everyone.

I am rating this 5 stars for three reasons: 1 — Salsa! Maybe it’s Pico — whatever you call it, I could eat it by the gallon! 2 — Ceviche — seriously, I could eat a gallon of this too. 3 — Margaritas — did I really suck them down? Yes, I did. Also, really nice wait staff! In addition to that, we initially went to Lola for a benefit for my son’s school. I think one of the chefs has a child at my son’s school. They host this annual benefit at Lolas and this was my first time attending. The food was served family style and earned us as customers. I don’t get out in that part of town very often and didn’t realize the same group owns Jax, one of my old favorites. We’ve been back a few times for drinks and appetizers before other events. But, we want to go back for a proper full meal again.

I LOVELOLA! Seriously one of my favorite brunch spots in Denver. I always get the Ultimate Bloody and tried the Michelada pop this time. Friends had some of their mimosas(they have at least 3 – 4 flavors). Lola offers soo many awesome dishes that it was hard to choose what I wanted. I usually only have a main dish at breakfast or brunch time, but we wanted everything on the menu. Brunch appetizers were necessary. We started out with chips and salsa, in which we were given three different salsas ranging in heat index. My favorite was the green tomatillo salsa. My friends and I were also quite interested in trying the horchata pancake, so we got one to split. OH. MY. GOD. It may have been the tastiest pancake I’ve tried(literally tasted like a liquid horchata cooked into a pancake) and was served with hearty sweet cinnamon syrup and tamarind crumbles on top. I don’t think I could order this for my full meal, as it’s heavy and laden with sweetness, but it was perfect for a few bites. I ordered the smoked trout and sweet potato hash for my brunch entrée, which was the least impressive thing I ordered. It tasted decent, but was lacking a distinct flavor(’twas somewhat bland even though the aioli was what drew me into the dish). I was also expecting a runny poached egg and a lot more trout… There were only a few chunks in there. Nonetheless, there are plenty of other dishes I would be happy to try at Lola. I have had the beef brisket benny before and that is to die for! Full review of the Ultimate Bloody and Michelada Pop here: Service is always great(I usually have lots of questions) and meals are average-priced, but a little more on the upper end. I have yet to try lunch or dinner here but cannot wait until I do! Ambiance is relaxing and the décor inside is laden with wood and paintings. We sat on the patio last time, which got a bit hot due to the sunshine.

Photos only tell one side of the story at Lola’s, fortunately their dishes taste just as good as they look. I was fortunate to accompany Lola fans due for their regularly scheduled date with their favorite Denver restaurant. Lola lived up to the hype for me the second time around. The chefs are keen on keeping their revolving menu interesting with creative dishes infused with American and Mexican flavors. Every dish we ordered on their brunch menu had depth and complexity. The lolaburguesa is meaty tender goodness, lobster deviled eggs are delightful with sneaky bits of bacon surprise, and the spicy beef brisket benedict is just as colorful both to the eye and the palate – Oh Lola, you definitely affirmed my doubts of venturing into vegetarianism. Although the habanero pumpkin seed dip led to unstoppable munching on chips! Also, topped off with attentive service and part of our tab on the house as a token of appreciation. Add a Michelada Pop and some live music, Lola temporarily transported me to Baja Cali and for a moment I may have forgotten I was located a mile high surrounded by mountains.

Have nothing but good things to say bout here. Discovered this place due to a Denver passbook for bogo and decided to venture out our Norms of eateries. Tried the specials they had of bison sirloin and sea bass for entrees. Both were amazing with a pack of flavor. Fundido for apps, this was totally different from regular quesos as it was white and kinda whip-y and came with fried bread! Yes, fried bread. Not for the traditional palate, but fun as the name. It was actually refreshing as it was really light but still tastey. Was super shocked and would totally come back. They had some kind of lobster special on Wednesday when we were there.

Not many places in the United States where you can order an entire fish with it’s head still on, smiling at you with it’s little tiny teeth! My dinner companion and I both ordered fish… the baja style whole fish and the pan roasted red grouper. Tried both and really enjoyed them! Although I would have to say I enjoyed the grouper more as I thought it had bolder flavor and spice. We also had the table-side prepared guacamole. Love this personal touch! However, I didn’t love the guac. Just not my style. I like mine very garlic-y and with lemon spritz instead of lime. Dinner wouldn’t be completed without an adult beverage. Had the drug mule. Really appreciated they didn’t go too sweet with this drink. The sage was a unique touch too. This drink helped cool off my mouth from the very spicy carrots in my grouper. Would order again. I hope to return when the weather is warmer. Patio looks fantastic! Tip: I recommend ordering the whole snapper for two, unless you are extremely hungry or want leftovers!

If you have ever been to Centro up in Boulder, this place is approximately a replica of that restaurant. The flavors are the same and the style is similar. Came here for happy hour, and am happy to say that I was impressed. The nachos are delicious. They take you to a whole different world full of flavors. They combine the perfect ingredients to make a perfect dish of nachos. At first, I war worried the carrots would taste disgusting on nachos, but they work! They add a decent crunch to the dish(and don’t worry there aren’t that many carrots if you hate carrots). Be warned, however, the dish is packed with sour cream so this is a bit caloric. The tacos are also very good. The octopus taco was not as unique as I thought it would be and tasted rather ordinary. The chicken tacos, on the other hand are quite delicious and have a unique flavor kick to them.

Lola is so good. I’ve come here for just drinks and dinner a couple of times. This time we started with the fundido which everywhere else is a searing hot plate of cheese and there’s nothing wrong with that. Theirs tasted like warm cream cheese. It was so odd. The fry bread was good though. I ordered the octopus which I have to say was hands down the best I’ve ever had. It was so tender it was ridiculous. My husband got the al pastor which was also good. My friends ordered the mexican coffee for dessert which was very tasty. I got the dulce de leche cake which was good. The fruit compote on the sides were better than the cake. This place is fun and always delicious.

My hubs and I came here on a random Saturday night — mainly b/c they had no wait & an available reservation on open table(our usual way of picking date night restaurants). To be honest, we have had a super difficult time finding Mexican food we really really like in Denver(any suggestions would be wonderful). Lola definitely was not your greasy Mexican food joint — the food was much more gourmet. First off — please do yourself a favor and order the tableside guacamole. Not only is it super fun to have the guy come next to your table and prep it but it is also extremely fresh and delicious. Our avocados were in that perfect stage for guacamole and the chips were crispy and fabulous. I ordered the caldo verde and if you’re a fan of seafood soup then I would definitely give this a shot. It is a little on the spicy side so beware. The hubs had the fajitas and added chicken. It wasn’t anything super special which made the price seem a little high. I think he was hoping for a special twist on the dish. Two quick things — one the service was awesome. Water was constantly full and our server was super friendly and helpful. Water at a Mexican restaurant(especially when spicy dishes are ordered) is so necessary so this was greatly appreciated. Second — if you can, sit outside on the patio. It definitely is a super mellow environment and always wonderful to get some fresh air.

Came for brunch while visiting Denver. It’s in a really cute trendy new neighborhood called LoHi. The restaurant has a really nice Patio space so we sat out there since it was a beautiful day. We started with micholadas… and I must preface this with we are micholada snobs… they were PERFECT! And it was so cool how they add the popsicle with the flavoring… think I might have to start making these at home. We ordered the guacamole, which is made at your table. The guacamole dude was so friendly and answered all of our questions about the neighborhood, since we were curious. We also tried the Salsa Mexicana which was perfect(we love spicy) and the tortilla chips are thin, but crispy and salty, just how I like em! For our mains we shared the salmon lox torta and the smoked trout & sweet potato hash. The torta was unique, fresh flavorful ingredients BUT it had a savory jelly that I wasn’t so into because of the hint of sweetness… just not a sugar with savory person. Also, the lox was a unique type… not smoked as you would get at a bagel shop for example. Texture was a bit more like jerky but still really good! Loved everything about the smoked trout & sweet potato hash. The fish was spot on, the hash is more like breakfast sweet potatoes and not quiet shredded as I would imagine hash to be. The poached egg on top was delish! Overall we loved everything! If I lived nearby I would be a regular.

Yep. Yep. Yep. Can you get married here… or maybe just married to the Tacos here? But for serious. Lola is excellent.(Probably make a reservation, folks. Its busy for good reason) Mondays are Happy Hour all night long. Tacos are really reasonably priced for Happy Hour and margaritas are 5 bucks. There’s a deal you gotta try: 5.00 for 2 chicken tacos and a tecate. That’s my kind of happy hour special. I HAVE to go back to get the table side guac. Food and a show? Count me in! Beautiful restaurant, lovely patio. I think there might be a rooftop? Not sure about that but if there is I wanna live up there. Tip: finding the bathroom after 2 – 3 strong margaritas is a little tough. Its down a large dangerous-when-tipsy flight of stairs. Proceed with caution.

Lola was amazeballs. This was yet another place I’d been dying to «un-bookmark» from my extensive Unilocal list, so when the in-laws were in town — we took advantage of trying out a new place. Yay! We were able to secure an OpenTable rezie, and were greeted and seated upon arrival. We forgot to request a patio table, but not to fret — we were seated on the main level near the kitchen. I actually enjoyed watching them at work and thought it was hilarious that every time someone ordered a whole fish — they chanted whole fish! Obviously we started with guacamole — yum! And margaritas — how can you not have margaritas? Both were delightful. I liked the margaritas in particular — not sweet, fresh, and just screamed«summer is here»! I had the caldo verde for dinner — mussels, clams and shrimp in a delightful spicy kind of cilantro broth. My hubby &MIL shared the cold seafood platter, which they said was good, but probably something you could get anywhere. FIL had the seafood enchiladas, and I snagged a bite — yum! We did skip dessert, but they had some Little Man ice cream on the menu, plus your tasty Mexican postres like churros, flan, and some other things that looked delightful, but can’t quite remember what they were. Fun fact — these people are owned/operated by the same folks that run Jax. And supposedly they have all day HH on Mondays? Will definitely be back for that!

I really wanted to try a new place to eat and someone suggested Lola .I look it up and felt like we had to give it a go… My friend and I made a reservation and drove on over… Parking is a nightmare I will say… but it’s like that everywhere in Denver these days . The ambiance here at Lola is very fun and upbeat… Everyone that works here is very friendly and seems happy to be here… We are seated by the kitchen and we start with chips and guacamole ! The guy comes to the table and made it special for us. nice touch guys! I order a salad with swordfish and my friend orders fajitas .very tasty !! Finally for dessert we get the donuts and ice cream — by far the best part of the night., Jeff was our waiter and he was super cool… All in all I had a great time and will come back !! Thank you Lola Give it a try :) Kinda pricey I must say… but great service !!
