Lumber Liquidators

Poor service. I bought over the phone and asked them to have the wood ready as I would be there in 30 minutes and I still had to wait over on hour to get loaded up.

Do yourself a BIG favor and DON“T use them. My flooring tongue and groove was really chewed up and as a result I have large gaps between the boards. When I asked them to help me replace it they said it was all my fault.

And if we could do zero stars, I would have done that! I only wished I had looked at the reviews first before buying. Just purchased some high-​end laminate products and along with it, some padding that they recommended to get. Now, the flooring I bought already had a pad backing but I was told that additional padding would be beneficial. So, $ 400 later and my contractors start working on the project. They lay down the padding and attempt to put the flooring on top of it. They notice that the floor boards won’t lock into place property and tend to curve in so they remove the padding and read the instructions on the flooring. It clearly says to NOT USE any additional padding — so they didn’t, and the floor went in nicely.
I noticed some comments/​reviews about the flooring deteriorating after installation and I have to wonder if extra padding was used when the directions clearly say not to.
I went to the store to get my money back for the padding but because it was over 30 days, they wouldn’t do the refund. Even after I pointed out that they shouldn’t have sold me the product to begin with, they insisted that they did many floors with the additional padding (and could this be why some of you are having issues???).
My contractor did the right thing by following manufacturer guidelines and as a matter of fact, on page 2 of LL receipt, it emphasizes to use the manufacturer’s guidelines.
I would also highly recommend not using their services as their product knowledge is obviously deficient and forget about Customer Service — it doesn’t exist.
Off to start a Small Claims against them — can’t stand establishments that treat their client’s this way — I would have even considered a 20% re-​stocking fee or something but they just pushed me out the door!
Please don’t go near this place — Floor and Décor is a much better option and their prices are very comparable.

I bought my flooring material from them. They sold me the wrong material and refused to return it. I went a head and installed the flooring. After only 6 months after installing the hardwood floor. The peaces separated and when I called there customer service and emailed pictures. They did nothing! They do not stand by there warranties. Do not buy from them. I will never do business with them ever again

Everyone in the front of the store was helpful. It wasn’t until we needed our boxes loaded up when the headache started. We only had 6 boxes, 2 different kinds. It took, no joke, 45 minutes for them to find them and load them up. Looked like a bunch of kids working out back. Smh.

Don’t walk. Run away from lumber liquidators! The hardwood flooring I purchased from them was at a very attractive price. And the flooring was beautiful, for about 1 week. The flooring was a pre finished maple flooring, and the finish started looking horrible immediately. It has nicks everywhere, scratches on it just from my dogs paws, and mind you he’s a 10 pound yorkie. We now are going to have to pay a flooring professional to refinish the floor that is less than a year old.
Products are cheap and you get what you pay for. As well as they do not stand at all by their warrantees. Don’t be tricked by their cheap pricing, you’ll wish you had never walked in their store. It’s all too good to be true.

We installed two bedrooms of Brazilian Koa engineered flooring from Lumber Liquidators. Materials were acclimated in the location for two weeks flat on the floor prior to installation. About two weeks AFTER installation, both of the floors started cupping and the wood cracking. We stumble on the corners of the wood planks and cannot go barefoot, it is so bad. We went through the process of filing a warranty claim. Painful! Chay never responded to any emails. Their service level turnaround times were NEVER met — 48 hrs turned into several weeks. Only after repeated phone calls were we able to get our claim evaluated, then after several more weeks and phone calls we got a form letter saying the floor must have gotten wet because localized cupping is caused by moisture. We live in CO where the average humidity at 9,200 feet, where we live, is 17%. Those bedrooms are about 30 feet from the nearest water source, which has never flooded. One was used for an office by me. The other was used occasionally for a guest bedroom. Nobody ever caused a flood and the floors never got wet. Their description of the damage in the letter was not even close to the photos we sent them. THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY FOR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIVE. THEY DON’T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS. DO NOT BUY FROM LUMBER LIQUIDATORS.

My husband and I just purchased a home and wanted to immediately take out the nasty carpet that was in there. It was obvious the previous owner had dogs and cats in the home. We found a great product that matched almost identical to some existing wood in the kitchen. We have two dogs, a cat, and a lot of friends and family constantly in our home so we were needing something that would hold up well. We installed laminate throughout our main living area and cork in the bedrooms. Both products are holding up amazingly and the cork in the bedrooms are very comfortable. My husband plays music in the basement (below the bedroom) and although the cork isnt completely sound proof, it does make a big difference from what we experienced in our last home.
I would recommend Lumber Liquidators to anyone. They had everything we need and we are even thinking about purchasing some butcher block counter tops they carry to complete my husbands bar.

Without a doubt absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with! We purchased flooring in April of 2014. We paid them to install it. The installer was terrible. I had to ban him from my house and they send somebody else in to finish the job. Six to eight months later the flooring is coming apart. On December 20^th I got a hold of lumber Liquidators customer service to initiate getting it repaired. Today is January 30^th and I have yet to have it repaired. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The Better Business Bureau notified me that the company failed to respond to the request. I have called them no less than five to six times and emailed the same. They will not take care of you although they say they’re going to do it I never hear back. It has now been 5 weeks since I attempted to get them to fix it and I am no closer today and I wasn’t that. Stay away from this company! Poor product, poor people, poor service.

Went on a Friday to look around and set up measuring. Prices are good. Told we would get a call on Monday from installer. No call until Wed. Said he would show up on Friday, complained about how far we lived –by airport. Said he would be in before I had to work on morning. Woke up ealry, he didn’t call or show up. Called on sat, spoke to manager and he said he would refund 25.00 and send someone out. Someone came that day. one week later no refund, no call about our quote, nothing. Horrible install/​mesaure company. I’m not spending my money here.

I was pricing flooring and found that LL had the best pricing for the quality floor we were looking for. I paid them $ 25 to have my house professionally measured and to provide and installation quote. I had also recently had my house professionally measured by another company to compare their installation prices.
The LL installer measured the house and told my husband he would have a quote completed by that evening. He did email the quote, however the file he sent was corrupt. My husband emailed and told him about the corrupt file and asked him to redo it. The installer just resent the same file in a different email, ugh! I called the store four times in four days to try to fix the problem with the quote and had no response. Finally, my husband and I drove to the store, which is not conveniently located to our house.
Once at the store, I explained the situation to the manager and was only offered an I’m sorry. Terrible customer service when you’re customer was completely inconvenienced on the business error. The manager did print the quote.
When I saw the quote, I was disgusted. The quote had approximately 100 sq ft more product than I actually need (this is in addition to the additional product needed in case of errors, etc). There were also pieces of trim that are not needed for my house. For example, we are removing all carpeting in the house, the installer added several feet of carpet trim in addition to the trim we actually need at the tile floors and stairs. Also, the quote did not break down the installation prices, ie. demolition and installation prices. When I asked the manager about all of the above items, he said, «I don’t know, I will have to speak with the installer and get back to you tomorrow.» Needless to say, four days later, I’m still waiting for the phone call.
I did order my product from LL online and picked up my product because as mentioned, their prices are very good which is the only reason I’m giving two stars. The online ordering and store pick-​up was painless. I have contracted with a more professional installer that is more open and honest about their installation pricing.

I measured the space I was putting flooring down and took it in with me when I purchased my flooring. I was told that I would need 15 boxes. So with out question I paid for my boxes and took them home. After I finished putting in my floor I had 3 full boxes left. This morning I called to see if I could return the boxes and was told that there is a 20% restock fee!!! They were the ones that told me how many boxes I needed. I didn’t just go in and ask for more than I needed so I could return them later and lose my money.
When going in do not trust them to give you what you need. Take your time and figure it out yourself. I am sure this is just a way they can make a little more money and screw their customers.

In March 2013, our family joined together to purchase and install laminate wood floors for our aging parents. We selected the material from Lumber Liquidators for a balance of cost and quality from a supplier that (we believed) would stand behind their product. While none of us are professional floor installers, we are all experienced home renovators and opted for a product that was clearly promoted as being appropriate for homeowner installation.
Less than a year later (and well within the warranty period), there were pronounced gaps and chipping in the flooring. We immediately took steps to act on the product’s 12-​month warranty. From our initial contact with Kerry, we have been put off or ignored. Once we finally mentioned reviewing their product in Internet forums, we were sent boilerplate information about why floors might gap. There was no acknowledgement of the chipping nor of our repeated attempts to resolve an issue we fully believe to be covered under the product warranty.

I have had nothing but good experiences dealing with Lumber Liquidators. I’ve been to two of their stores, and called on the phone, and every time I’ve dealt with someone who resolved my issue.
I feel like the people who leave bad reviews are looking for the kind of service you would find a designer or boutique flooring store where the staff fawn over you but the prices are two or three times as expensive.
The bottom line: If you want cheap flooring and are willing to do your own thorough research, then this is the place for you.

Not sure why this place has such low reviews, but I had a really pleasant experience with lumber liquidators. The sales guy, Chris, was helpful and knowledgeable. At first we thought about laying our flooring ourselves, and he helped me to figure out those costs and to know what materials we would need. We eventually decided to have LL have their installers do the work because it would be done faster than what we could do. The installers were on the late side of when they said they would show up, but they got the job done and done well. We have a 11 month old, and they were respectful of her and her various toys laid around the house. The pricing was fair as well. We compared between LL and carpet exchange, and the prices were about even. LL has a better selection of flooring than carpet exchange, though, so a plus there.

Terrible service. They guess messed up our order bad. When we called them out on it Mike got rude with my wife and tried to blame it on us. It was a terrible experience. What a bunch of freaking morons in that store. Seriously, it was the most retarded shopping experience ever. They cost me a lot of time an money then were jerks about it.

Overall – Meh. It’s a borderline 2 star, but I’ll give it 3 due to good prices on the products they do have.
So…Prices are good. You’ll pay about half (maybe a little more) than you’d pay at Home Depot. 4 stars.
Service– not so good. 2 stars.
Local store didn’t have it in stock, had to drive to this store to buy it.
No instructions on how to install. Went back to get instructions, they gave me the wrong instructions. Handyman installed it for me, took him a day to figure out how to make it work. Never did figure out how to install the threshold covers with their hardware. Ended up just nailing them down.
You get what you pay for. Product was good quality, low cost, but service was low quality. If you have a professional installer, you’ll be fine. If not, could be a bigger pain than you want to deal with.
I would recommend them to professionals looking for good prices. I would not recommend them for the DIY installer.

We were lucky and there was a huge sale going on when we were ready to start our project of putting hardwood in my home office and our hallway. Their selection was good and even though they were busy (due to the sale), we were in and out in 30 minutes. The sale allowed us to get Bella prefinished wood for the price we would have paid for a lesser brand. The sales staff was helpful and provided us with the answers needed to select the best flooring option for our needs.

I have mixed feelings on Lumber Liquidators. They do have great prices on hardwoods and laminates. However, they have very limited selection — we originally wanted a particular brand they don’t carry (a pretty common one). So just know that going in. Also, if you are doing a whole house re-​do (or a substantial amount of square footage) it is best to check that they have enough boxes of the type of material you want in stock — they are liquidators so they may not. Another problem I have with them is that they don’t transfer inventory to other stores so you may have to drive all over town if you want something specific and they only have a few boxes at one store (that is how we ended up at this location). They also have a crappy return policy and if you have a problem with your product you are probably gonna have a hard time returning anything — even if the product is defective.
It is a a «you get what you pay for» kind of place. Did we save half what we would have if we went to the big box stores — YES! Was their service and product the best — No!
This one is in a crappy location, right across from the highway (although you actually have to weave through residential and industrial areas to actually get to the shop). Not much of a parking lot, just a few spaces out front. One bay to get product put into your car and it can be hard to get into if the place next door has people loading or you have people blocking the bay (which happened to us). It is actually a bigger showroom than the one in Park Meadows so that is plus — definitely more product to look at. However, I wouldn’t go in looking for a ton of help, they were OK, but to a point.
If you know what your doing and need materials on the cheap, then this will probably work for you!

After my experience with Lumber Liquidators in Park Meadows I wasn’t too keen on going back, however the flooring we bought from them had so many defects in it that I ended up having to go back and buy some more to finish up a project. They make you sign a gigantic waiver noting that they have zero return and exchange policy. Once you load it into your car they wash their hands of it. You really should inspect everything while you’re standing there, but who can do that?
Anyway, the store in Park Meadows didn’t have any more of our type of floor in stock, but I needed 3 more boxes to finish and the store in Denver had «over 8000 sq ft» of it in stock (according to the guy on the phone). They won’t transfer between stores so we had to drive way out of the way to go to this store (you can order online but shipping ain’t cheap and it says it can take up to 15 business days unless you pay $ 300 for FedEx).
There was only 1 person up front when we got here and 2 other people waiting to get checked out, so it took forever to get helped. This location isn’t in the best location and parking is non-​existent. They have 1 loading bay and the guy in front of us was just sitting there after they loaded him up. Regardless, the guy helping us and the guy who brought it from the warehouse were nice enough, but I’d definitely think again before coming here to buy floors. Read the reviews online and make sure you know what you’re paying for.
