Just to update my review I continue to like this place. I have always found the service to be accommodating. This is especially so if you dine in. The dining area is spacious with many booths. The food remains quite good. Noodle bowls are excellent. Ample parking. One of our favorites! Worth trying.

They ladies are sweethearts, and as much as I want to like our neighborhood Chinese joint, the food really is just so-so and just about good enough for when you’re hungover or starving. A cautionary side-note for when you’re starving though… I’ve ordered take-out here about a dozen times and they will always say it will be ready in 15 – 20 minutes. Expect to wait because it’s taken at least 30 – 60 minutes every time.

I’m glad Man Wah is still in the game. When it first opened I was a huge booster cause it filled such a need for decent Asian food in the NW quadrant. The menu is more streamlined now(not a bad thing) and has defaulted to that familiar pan-Asian thing that everyone does(I shrug). I still stick to the Vietnamese offerings. The phở is really good, still deep flavored w just that hint of sweetness. The noodle bowls and rice plates with grilled meats are pretty much perfect. The bbq pork is a small glimpse of meat heaven. Service is well intended and friendly but I counsel going only when you’re not in a huge rush. I don’t think they get a big enough trade here that they ever got the floor service running smoothly. But it’s perfect if you’re catching up with a friend you haven’t seen in forever. I never do delivery which sounds like it can go pretty awry. My optimal experience is phoning ahead for pick up. Overall it’s a 3.5 but happy to round up to 4 cause the things I like here, I really like a lot.

We’ve been dining at Manwah for nearly 3 years, 1 – 2 times a week. We have always received a warm welcome, good service and the food is always very tasty! We were dining one evening and two female customers arrived and began a tirade about their food and/or service. One woman was in the kitchen yelling and dropping F-bombs at the restaurant staff and the other woman was at the counter, insisting an immediate credit authorization be issued. The restaurant was very, very busy! Once the woman was satisfied the credit authorization was issued, she asked if the food she was given a credit for, would be served to other customers and she was told the food would be discarded. The woman then said she was taking the food home and said«try and stop me»! When a Manwah staff member tried to claim the food, the woman and the Manwah employee fumbled with the container. The food was dumped on the table, booth seat and the floor. The customer laughed, headed for the exit and said«now you can have it and clean it up». The police were called and the police talked to the group of women creating the disturbance. A second police officer talked to the restaurant owner. The restaurant lost the food, spent additional resources to clean up the mess, apologize to dine in/carryout patrons and then the restaurant falls further behind on orders after the disturbing incident! On the other hand, the self-centered, rude customers just walk away from the incident/mess with no feeling of responsibility! Sometimes…THECUSTOMERISWRONG!!! On occasion, the Manwah restaurant,(like nearly all restaurants at one time or another) is overwhelmed with dine in and delivery orders. Restaurants may be short staffed and fall behind in the kitchen. This is the reality of the restaurant business! Service and quality may be somewhat compromised, however, it is wrong for self-centered, immature customers to be loud, rude, use offensive language or create a disturbance just because an error was made on THEIR order or THEIR order was delivered late. The Manwah Chinese Restaurant is a family owned and operated business with many, many loyal customers. The vast majority of these loyal customers resolve dining/service issues while treating restaurant owners/employees with dignity and respect! We love the always fresh Egg Foo Young and we look forward to dining at your wonderful restaurant when you return from your time off!

We live close to the restaurant and were delighted on our first walk down after it changed over from Tammi’s burgers — miss those shakes though. The family that runs it is super, understanding of my vegetarian needs and always add extra broccoli when I order. The delivery is quick, food is fresh and relatively clean(not likely organic at those prices). Yes it’s the closest to us but it is also our favorite asian in NW Denver — my Sloans Lake friends think so too!

The food is absolutely decisions! The phở is so tasty, as well as the chicken fried rice! I did delivery and they did take almost an hour to come but it was so well worth it. The food came hot, and the delivery guy was very much polite.

I have had some good experience with the food but the customer service is atrocious which is why I must give them one star. Delivery is often delayed – often taking more than an hour when we live just a mile or two away, we have had mistakes in the order or the food has arrived cold and their willingness to correct them has been extremely poor. In one case, they refused to send us a fresh meal to replace the erroneous one instead only offering to send me at without the other items – meaning our food would be cold by the time the food arrived. As noted above, I think the food has been overall good but I would only order takeout and I strongly urge anyone to check their order before they leave or upon delivery. More importantly, however, was the atrocious response we received to errors they made pushed me over the edge. in the most recent case, we finally had to drive to the restaurant to get an effective fix as they simply refused to send us a new meal. Very disappointing all around from a restaurant I once viewed as a viable and relatively cheap option for Asian food. Buyer beware.

3.21.16UPDATE: I’ve ordered from this place dozens of times since writing my first review. Tonight, I ordered beef phở for delivery and something for my husband. They delivered the wrong phở(vegetable phở, which means no meat) so I called to complain. First they tell me that I need to put the vegetables in something so they can come get it and bring just the meat. What? But the noodles are now drying out and the broth is getting cold. I tell them I’ll give all of it back for a fresh, correct order. They tell me no, they just want the veggies back in exchange for the meat. I touched all of the vegetables while looking for the meat. Why do you even want that back? I hang up completely annoyed and pissed at the now cold phở on my counter. My husband calls. They agree to bring a new order. Finally. Woo hoo. Then they call me back and tell me because I’ve touched the food, there’s nothing they can do. I go: «I hope you weren’t planning on serving that to another customer. Of course I touched it because I was looking for the meat.» He tells me «I’m sorry, there’s nothing I can do for you.» So now I’m furious, the vegetable phở is now cold and I’m out $ 15. This place has absolutely NO customer service. Avoid unless you have complete confidence they’ll get your order correct. Otherwise, your SOL. So. Mad.

Denver, Colorado– Oh the things I do for love! My husband was craving green curry and uncertain of options between work and our new place I turned to Unilocal.I looked for a call ahead pick up spot and found one– the only one in the area. When I called I was placed on hold… sort of. It was more like a just-wait-patiently-while-I-finish-an-extremely-loud-conversation kind of hold. I waited for an annoying 3 minutes and 42 seconds reciting over and over again«make hubby happy with curry!» Finally I was able to place my order. When I pulled into the parking lot I wanted to immediately retreat for fear of being shot– just kidding, it’s not that bad but it is across the street from a virtually abandoned amusement park and the windows are so dingy and dirty I could not even see inside. I closed my eyes and marched onward right into a door. Ouch. I opened my eyes and was surprised both by my clumsiness and the sight of the interior. It actually is clean inside. The tile appears newer and the tables, chairs, and booths were nicely kept. I was greeted with a «hi honey, come in» and was invited to sit. Wow. Unexpected. I get home and we dig in. The noodle bowl was average and the green curry far too spicy even for a man that loves spice. Oh well, you win some you lose some!

Not good. An hour and a half to deliver take out that I was told would take 30 minutes. After a follow-up phone call they did show up with an order of cream cheese won tons as consolation but it was clear the rest of the food had been sitting in the bag for a long time. And the food itself wasn’t good. I don’t have inordinately high expectations for take-out but this was pretty bad. Vietnamese spring rolls consisting of rice noodles, a piece of lettuce, and a shrimp cut in half; a Happy Family that was lots of rubbery, indistinct pieces of meat; a bland, batter-heavy sesame chicken. Even if I’d been hungover this food would have been disappointing.

This place has very good food and even better service. I’m always looking for a solid Chinese takeout place that has the main dishes and does them well. Nothing fancy or super-high quality. And this place has just what I want from a typical Chinese food place and the portions are huge! Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because my fiancé didn’t love their egg rolls(wanted more inside of them, but they are huge) or Pad Thai. When I went to pick up our order everyone was incredibly nice. While I was waiting the woman at the front even asked if there was anything she could put on there for free for us(I think it was because we had a pretty big order). Definitely going to come back

My search for good Chinese food in the Denver metro wasn’t completed by eating here! There were too major problems with this restaurant: slow service and tasteless food. They seem to do a lot of takeout business, and have very few(one?) person in the dining room who appears to be responsible both for waiting tables and fulfilling take-out pickups. We sat down and ordered, and then waited nearly a 45 minutes in an almost empty restaurant for our food to arrive — which is a lot longer than any chinese restaurant I’ve eaten at — even the fancy ones in San Francisco. Meanwhile, a steady stream of patrons were picking up their take-out. Even once the food arrived, it was impossible to get get the tea refilled or the check paid, because nobody was watching our table. Now, on to the food. We ordered some Singapore-style Chao Fun and some Kung Pao chicken. These should have been easy for any chinese restaurant to get right. However, both dishes were tasteless and the noodles were greasy when they should have been dry and sizzling with curry flavor. We eventually discovered that heavily salting the food made it taste almost«normal» based on our experience with other, better restaurants. Imagine, having to salt food in a Chinese restaurant! Otherwise, the dishes were large and seemed reasonably well-prepared(meat was done, veggies still crisp, etc.) but the lack of flavor spoiled them. They are *almost* a good restaurant, but the different is big enough that I won’t go back unless I hear otherwise. My favorite is still Hong Kong BBQ. There is no other Chinese restaurant in Denver that can match its flavor.

I called for delivery of potstickers, phở, and sesame chicken at 6pm. It cost me around $ 30. The woman answering the phone said that it would be 45 minutes, but it took them 2 hours. I called them after waiting for 90 minutes, and they said the food was already out for delivery, but they would call the driver, and call me back with an update. They never called me back. The food was barely warm when we got it 30 more minutes later. Despite the potstickers being large, I will probably never order from here again due to the poor customer service.

The grilled pork Phở is DELICIOUS. They package it perfectly for delivery(broth in separate container for mixing at home). Large portions.

I love Man Wah — my go to spot for Asian lunch in my work hood! The service is always spot on and the servers are always pleasant. I always order the same thing — Vermicelli Combo Bowl with egg rolls AND beef because that’s how I roll. The bowl is large and can definitely be split into 2 lunches — 1 for today and 1 for tomorrow. The ingredients are fresh and tasty! I will bring my assistant or friends and they typically try one of the HUGE lunch specials. The sweet and sour shrimp is a Five Star as is the sesame chicken. I recommend.

Man Wah! Its good. I’ve been here about 6 times in the short time I’ve lived down the street. I have tried a few different items and they have all been good. My favorite item is the Jalapeño Chicken, its has a good spicy flavor and it just hits the spot. A little much on the onions but its still great. Kung Pow Chicken is also good. Lo Mein and Spicy Lo Mein are good. Crab Wontons are great. Its just good food. They have chinese, thai and vietnamese food all under one roof although I haven’t adventured around the menu to the other styles… yet. Food is good, portions are big, its just good!

First, they offer small and Large sized Phở for dine in. This may be a new option as a previous review indicated only one size. We were happily impressed by the Phở, the Chinese food, the friendly waitress and the major facelift to the interior! No longer the greasy Tami’s burger Haven. This restaurant has a nice laid back feel. The food was delicious and the wonderful waitress helped us pick just the right dish. We will make this a regular phở spot. Tasty broth and hot jalapeños A+!

Really pleasantly surprised. It’s definitely a little sketchy looking, and it was completely empty on a Friday night, but they are pretty cool here. Decent prices, big portions of Americanized Chinese food. It’s pretty standard fare as far as American Chinese goes, but it’s worth it. I got 3 meals out of a $ 22 meal of one entrée with rice, and two apps. Everything was as you’d expect, with nothing super over the top good. But nothing was bad, either. And I’ll be honest, when I’m after take-out Chinese, I want to know that my favorites are consistently good, it’ll be quick, and I’ll have leftovers. This place knocks all three of those out of the park. And as long as those three criteria are met, I’m on board. I’ll be going back to Man Wah for sure.

Wanted to like this place, I really did. I rarely give out bad reviews, too. If they hadn’t given me an unfortunate sagas worth of delivery woes(in exchange for 30 bucks) than they would be getting 5 stars(the food, at least what was delivered, is very tasty), but they didn’t, so here we go. Our story begins at around 6:30, when I begin the hunt for phở places in Denver that deliver. I’ve been sick with something gross the last few days and have woken up to a vicious rekindled appetite. I find Man Wah, they have good reviews, are only 15 minutes away and better yet, They Deliver! HUZZAH! I don’t have to cook or go for take out! I immediately start loading up my shopping cart(online ordering option? Limited social interaction? Sign me up, folks!) with phở, boba, spring rolls and tasty, wonderful crab wontons. I check out saying I’ll be paying cash. At around 6:45 a woman calls to confirm my order, I tell her that it’s correct and I’ll be paying cash. She notifies me that at this time of day(7:00pm on a monday, I guess) there is traffic and that I’ll have to pay an extra delivery charge of around 5 bucks, if that’s okay. I haven’t found many places that deliver so I agree, banking on the good reviews and the fantasy of delicious food, that the add on price is worth it. Total comes out to 26 bucks after everything. Lady on the phone tells me it’ll be about 45 – 50 minutes for my order to arrive. K, I’m okay with that. It’s 7 o’clock and I’m patiently waiting It’s 7:45 and no word, I figure they’re running behind and shut my eyes for a minute since I’m still sick and kinda tired. I open my eyes, see that it’s 8:50 and panic thinking I missed their call and the poor delivery guy had to drive all the way back with my food. I notice there is no missed call on my phone so I call the restaurant again. «Oh yah, we’re sorry, our driver is on the way.» «It’s been two hours tho.» «We’re sorry, next time you order and you get me, I’ll give you a discount» Get a little frustrated since I paid the delivery fee, even though the place was a little less than 15 minutes from my apartment… and it took over 2 hours to get there, and apparently if I want to benefit from my unpleasant experience I have to order from them AGAIN(and make sure I get that specific hostess, or no dice). Say I understand(I’m a conflict avoider, so I don’t push it), hang up and wait for the driver. Get’s there around 9:05 I go back to my apartment and open up my fare, excited that the wait is over and ready to chow down when, there are zero utensils. The food is cold. CHICKENANDVEGGARESTREWNACROSSTHEBAG, SINCETHECONTAINERSWEREN’T SEALED, No straw for my boba, and NOWONTONS. I call back and ask for my wontons and a straw, hostess tells me the straw should be in the Boba… Unless it’s sealed inside the half melted slush of my frozen boba, then it’s not there, why argue? I just want a straw and my wontons. We confirm two more times about the wontons, I say I would very much like them delivered to me and hang up. Haven’t heard back, if I don’t get them by 10 I’m going to bed, calling it a night and won’t even bother using the vague, unspecified discount that was offered.

Having just moved to this side of town we were excited to find some good phở in the neighborhood. We consider ourselves pretty dialed in on the Vietnamese food scene having tried favorites such as Top Phở, New Saigon, Phở Duy, Phở 95 and many others. Man Wah definitely holds their own. Their spring rolls where well above average and quite tasty. The phở ga and phở tai nam were both well above average and well worth the visit. We look forward to future visits and will update our review accordingly. In the meantime, I would highly recommend you giving them a try.
