I discovered this place a couple months ago and was very excited to find a place close to my work with reasonably priced, tasty breakfast burritos. Fast forward to today, they raised their price from $ 3.50 to $ 4.00, which I understand prices go up over time. However, they didn’t change the price on the menu or notify me of the increase in price until I went to pay. When I asked the guy about it, I got a lecture about how everyone knows the price of eggs is increasing and 30 million chickens were killed last month. I asked why he couldn’t place a sticker over the old price with the correct price and he responded with«No, everyone knows. I’m not changing it.» I should have just left my food and walked out, but I was so shocked by his attitude, I caved and paid. I understand mistakes happen, but this was *intentional deceit* on their part — they know the price listed is wrong, and they do not have any plans to correct it. This is outright unethical and probably illegal. This place was starting to become a «go to» for a quick breakfast for me, but I will not be returning.

I would give it zero stars, but Unilocal doesn’t allow that. Not only was it the worst customer service I’ve ever had, but the most unsanitary kitchen to boot. I knew it was a mistake when I stepped in that place. If you like extra dry sandwiches at a high cost coupled with rudeness then this is the place for you. Never again for me and my buddies.

Max and his team run a tight ship. The food is excellent, every time! Max combines simple staples with high end twists. With tip I’m usually full for just over $ 6.

Tucked away at the back of the first floor of the 1899 building is this little gem. It’s a breakfast & lunch place that will leave you wanting more. As you walk through the door you are instantly greeted by Max himself, always smiling and happy to see you. For breakfast the smoothie is my favorite. Made with real fruit, not that syrup crap some other places serve. Max actually cares about the quality of food he serves his customers, which shows in every item that he serves. The breakfast burritos are great too, and huge! I love it smothered with his green chili, and it will usually last me two days. Lunch options include sandwiches made on thick, fluffy focaccica, soups and salads. I love the caprese sandwich because he uses real, fresh mozzarella and adds a little vinegar & oil. Yumm! Check on FB or Twitter for daily specials, my office loves the pork sandwich. A word of advice, for now Max Lunch is grab & go. There is a small counter, but it’s more for waiting while your food is prepared than eating. They also offer call-ahead ordering or you can order online, nice when you’re in a hurry.
