Mobsters and Molls Elite Event at Gaetano’s

I felt über elite because they closed the place down just for us.
This was compounded by the fact that all the staff was excellent at circling around with food and drinks.
My fav had to be the bruschetta on garlic toast.

like many other Unilocalers, i had no idea i liked gin. normally i feel like i just drank the liquid equivalent to a pine tree air freshener, but those tom collins’ were damn good. and by good i mean, kicked my ass the next morning. as far as food goes, i had a piece of bruschetta which i enjoyed and a few veggies, but the rest of the fine fair had meat in it so i could not partake. looked good though. probably helped the bombay kick my butt. i did have a great time as always talking to everyone and the lunchboxes were super cool.

An excellent event! This was my first Elite event here in Denver, and it was a blast. Tons of incredible costumes that blew me away, great food and beverages by Gaetanos, and of course everyone was super friendly. Really great to meet everyone, and I’m looking forward to more of these. Thanks Laura L!

I got an invite to check this event out last minute and had a blast. Loved the ambience of the location and the food was delicious. I loved all the mobster looks and hope next time I’m given an earlier heads up to dress. Free food and alcohol what more can one ask for? An awesome lunch pale with a thermos? Heck yeah! I think the lunch pale alone was five stars.

Mmm… I thought Gaetano’s food was good before… but the Gaetano’s bartender and his Bombay Sapphire Tom Collins’ were out of this world! I love it when we can dress up and let out our alter egos. Floozie Flapper Krisztina strikes again! With Unilocal lunchbox!

I have a soft spot in my heart for Gaetanos, and tonight was no different. While some Elite events leave the employees looking a bit harried, the servers and bartenders handled us free-​loaders like old pros.
Really, the proliferation of free food and drinks was amazing, and I am already craving their delicious sausage and peppers again.
I’m a gin lover from way back, but I never had much of an imagination when it came to mixing it with anything other than tonic water and a squeeze of lime. A Tom Collins might be a new buddy of mine.

The venue was too cute. The staff at Gaetano’s is so friendly, and just plain nice.
Unilocalers clean up nice — I must admit.
I probably waited too long to get the last 3 pieces of toasted ravioli, but since this is one of my favorite dishes everrrr, I will definetly go back to check that out :)

What a fun event! I had never been to Gaetano’s before. I didn’t do the gin, just a beer. But the food was tasty. Brent and I were really about the sausages. Yum!
It was great meeting a few more of you as well. I wish I had had more time to get an outfit ready, but I had just completely recovered from the flu that weekend!

Food and drinks were great!

The food, drinks and company were so good (and when I say the food was good, I meant it was deliciously good) …that they should have been outlawed.
In fact, we pretended that it was the case.
I mean, we were dressed like criminals. With tin lunch boxes and toy machine guns. Monday couldn’t get any better.
(Just let some of these Unilocalers know that Bombay Sapphire isn’t water in a bottle…)

Gin to me is like licking a tree… not my favorite… but these drinks were yummy :)

What a great event Laura! The place was super cute, along with everyone’s costumes… especially the flapper girls ;) The Tom Collins drinks were pretty fantastic… I think I might have a new fav beverage, and the bartenders were awesome. The highlight of my night, however, had to be the Unilocal lunchbox. How completely cool was that? It is the best Unilocal Schwag to date!
I just wish I wasn’t as wiped out, after my 11.5-hour work day! Sorry If I didn’t say hello to all my Unilocaler friends, as I wasn’t feeling too social… but at least I made it for a little while! Great job Laura!

What a fantastical throw-​back to the Flapperific era thanks to Unilocal.So many great costumes (glad to see so many got into the spirit!)… so much great food… and Sapphire Collins’… atta’boy! I especially liked the range of interpretations in costumes: from the simple, to the elaborate, to the blue hair, to the Ol’ Blue Eyes-​look-​a-​like sitting at the bar, Stogie in hand and lookin’ all aces. The Dame with him wasn’t so bad herself either ;)
And how about a schweet (hart) Unilocal lunchbox complete with schweet (hart) Unilocal Thermos? Oh wait they had those too! All in the dark and cozy setting of Gaetano’s – a most perfect of venues for such an event. Not to mention (but oh hey I am) that the waitstaff and kitchen crew did an outstanding job. Both friendly and efficient, what more could a doll ask for?
The only thing this party seemed to be missing was Herbert Hoover himself… which by most accounts wouldn’t have resulted in that much of a party after all. Thanks Unilocal and Laura for doing another awesome job and giving me a dandy excuse to be up so late on a school night. You’re the bee’s knees, as they’d say back when :)

Had never been to Gaetano’s, nor had I expected to be here for this. Great event, I am now on the market for a zoot suit, as long as I am surrounded by flappers, I’d wear it every day.
Service was fantastic, the only thing I’d like now is a ride to a 12 step program, because I’ll soon have a gin blossom otherwise. Up until last night, I hated gin. Pine was for forests, car air fresheners, and cleaning the floor… until now. Outstanding job, barkeep.
The food left me wanting more… in the good sense. I liked the friend ravioli, but perhaps would be better accompanied by a sauce of some type. Pesto Alfredo comes to mind. The bruschetta was tastey, one of the better ones I’ve had, but my favorite, the food that will bring me back, is the sausage and peppers. I like it with a little bite to it (no pun intended, but did I avoid it? No).
LL did a great job in planning this, I loved the theme… but when it’s ok to wear a pin striped suit, carry a Thompson, and be surrounded by flappers? I am in. Now, do zoot suits come in XXL Tall?

Everyone looked so cute last night! Me, well I looked like I had just stepped off the mountain, but my excuse was I came directly from the Rockies game.
Laura, thanks for putting together this great event! I have been wanting to check out Gaetano’s for quite some time so I am glad that I finally got to experience it. It’s on my radar now and I’ll be back to visit soon.
And.the best part about last night. the Unilocal lunchboxes complete with a Unilocal thermos! I woke up this morning to find my lunchbox stuffed with twizzlers and chocolate. perfect! Good to see all my Unilocal friends once again… you are all stellar!

I did NOT know I liked gin. Whoa. This could get dangerous. Thank goodness I now have a lunchbox (con Thermos) inside which I can tote my stealth cocktails.
Bonus points to awesome bartenders (Trrristrrran with all his Rs) and fantastic servers for keeping us all satisfied and satiated. Nice work!

On the lamb, I pull up the hayburner and meet my flapper outside the speakeasy. Boy does this moll have a nice set of gams on a great chassis. Inside the joint there’s a sweet tomato taking names with a torpedo by her side. A look around and there ain’t many wet blankets, nice surprise. At the bar the atmosphere was copacetic and the hooch cost no dough, its a wonder I didn’t get spifficated!
