This was a great eating experience. Manfred(sp) served us with a smile and promptly brought us our food. We had the carnivore pizza and it easily fed two of us.

I really liked the place. And I am really surprised to read negative reviews below. Yes pizza here has thinner crust and less sauce, bad that doesn’t make it bad. I liked it’s lightness and taste. And I have to agree with everybody that service was top-notch.

This experience was so memorable, I had to dust off my Unilocal to write about it. First-the service-personable, kind, courteous. The guy at the front seemed like a nice guy, and was very eager to please-a manager I think. Anyway, top notch service. If the place was called Service, and all they served were kind attitudes and smiles, I’d be there all the time. But it’s called Organic Pizza Company, and all the great service in the world can’t make up for the fact that this pizza was spectacularly bad. Toppings were sadly forgettable. Sauce was pedestrian. And the crust? What can you say about the crust? Not close to fresh, devoid of any discernible flavor, no crunch, no tooth. I’ve read from other reviews that they’ll give you all of these condiment freebies-different sauces and such. But none of those would hide the fact that this pizza sucks. It would be one thing if this was the only place in Denver for pizza. But it’s right across the street from a pretty good pizza spot, and a 10 minute walk from Anthony’s, which makes a killer NYC slice. So this place is far from the only game in town. And so there’s no excuse. Organic or not, there are better ways to get your pie fix taken care of. I used to eat Totino’s frozen pizza way back in my short pants days, and that was pretty bad pizza, 4 for $ 5′ on sale at the grocery. This wasn’t that bad. That’s the best thing I can say about it.

Let’s start with the 6 minutes that I was on hold to place my order. Luckily, I was watching a movie and didn’t really notice that I was waiting but still… come on. When I called back to place my order I was bummed to find out that they use a third party to deliver their pizzas. ***(NOTUSERFRIENDLY)*** I called the third party delivery company that they use and found out that they would not take the Groupon I had already purchased… grrr!!! I was really looking forward to having some amazing gluten free pizza and decided to place an order for carry out anyway.(Due to the aforementioned Groupon that I had ALREADYPURCHASED) I ordered 3 different gluten free pizzas. All of the pizzas lacked toppings. For those of you who don’t know, a pizza is NOT a pizza without cheese, sauce and TOPPINGS! The first pizza I ordered was the Jamaican Jerk pizza, which tasted more like an alfredo dipped cinnamon stick. The second pizza was the meat lovers which had no cheese or sauce… I’m going to let that sink in… that’s right. No cheese and no sauce. Write that down. So, needless to say it was incredibly dry and meaty. Dry meat. That tasted funky. FUNKYDRYMEAT. pizza? The best one, literally, *not being sarcastic here* was the veggie pizza. There was no sauce… again…pausing for effect… but there was a ridiculous amount of gouda to the point where the flavor overpowered not only the«pizza» but my entire house, street, block and neighborhood. I’m pretty sure ya’ll could smell that up in the Highlands. Damn. In summation, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Even if you buy a Groupon, thinking it’s a deal… it’s NOT! PS. I would just like to quote the manager, a bearded gentleman who’s name I do not know, unfortunately. I had the pleasure of overhearing his comment as I was waiting for my pizza, «Are we done yet? Keep the doors closed. Maybe we can get out of here sooner than later.» It gave me a warm fuzzy to know that they were so happy to have my business. No additional star for friendliness or service here. :-(

This location of OPC is A-OK. I like the topping options(especially artichoke, gorgonzola and white truffle oil) and the variety of sizes including the 9″ personal pizza. The prices are good and on par with other pizza joints downtown. The service is friendly and our pizzas came out fast at lunch time which was appreciated. What was less positive was the crust. I made my own pizza dough successfully for the first time over the weekend, using a no-knead recipe, and while I won’t be opening a restaurant anytime soon, my dough turned into a pretty delicious crust with good stretch, airy bubbles and a nice chew. My dough also was able to get nice char marks on a gas grill, adding to the flavor and texture. The crust at OPC tasted good with the added herbs, but it was dense and pale. No color means no heat, or not enough heat applied to the dough. Two of my favorite pizza spots downtown — Basic Kneads and Brava — make dough with infinitely better texture and flavor from a truck or mobile cart, and that’s even before you get going with their delicious topping options. So since the pies are roughly the same price, I am more likely to go to those places. Good crust is key! However, if organic is your thing, this is probably a great spot. They also offer gluten free dough in addition to salads, pastas, wraps and calzones(plus beer). I sampled the OPC, the margherita and a build-your-own with mushrooms, pepperoni and artichoke hearts(all about $ 9). The red sauce was a little bland(much improved with crushed red pepper from the jars on each table — no grated parmesan though) but the sauce on the OPC tasted great and didn’t even need the addition of truffle oil on that pie(that’s saying a lot because I love truffle oil, but it can stand on its own with fewer ingredients, in my mind). The menu said the sauce was alfredo but either it was very light, or just applied lightly, because it was not nearly as heavy tasting as I expected, in a good way.

I hate to give this place two stars. I love pizza, and I think it’s super important to eat organic food whenever possible — so this sounds like my kinda’ place, an I’ve really been rooting for them. I’ve eaten here three times, and unfortunately, the pizza is just not good at all. The pizza gets one star. Their friendliness and other menu items earn an additional star. Their salads are pretty good. The caprese is quite nice. Their wraps are pretty decent and healthy. But if the name of your restaurant has the word«pizza» in it, you should start with decent pizza(at least better than frozen from a grocery store). The crust is thin, but no flavor whatsoever. There is only enough sauce to dye the crust orange, but not enough to taste, and certainly not enough to allow some moisture to survive the baking process. The toppings(we’ve had veggie all three times) seem so-so. So what you end up with is a dry, dry, dry thin pizza with no flavor from the crust, the sauce, the cheese, or the toppings. That’s right, you really can’t taste what you’re eating. It feels like you’re eating something, but your taste buds are like… wtf? To their credit, they do provide free blue cheese, ranch, vinaigrette, and Cholula to dip it in, so that’s what we did — but we shouldn’t have to.

Yes to the staff. No to the pizza. Nothing pains me more than giving a restaurant 3 Stars or less — especially when the staff is kind and helpful. Alas, that is where I find myself at today. Let me start by saying that the workers here were topnotch; I’d be remiss if I didn’t say they went the extra mile and then some. If nice, courteous service was the only part of the equation then I’d give this place 5 Stars in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, restaurants are chiefly about the food. I came here for a slice of pizza(pepperoni, spinach, onions, & mushrooms) and a salad. The salad was really fresh and tasty, but the pizza was subpar. The toppings were phenomenal, however the crust was lacking. For me, the crust should be the pièce de résistance of any good pizza. In this case it was doughy with little flavor and no pizzazz. Had it not been for the outstanding service, I would have given this place 1 — 2 Stars; however, I believe good people count for something. That’s why I bumped my rating up to 3 Stars. Yes to the staff. No to the pizza.

So — really impressed. But the second time I went there. The first time the doors were open, so I walked in and stood there for a few minutes — then this guy was like«Uh, like, we’re closed…» So… that was that. But the second time I believe it was the owner that was there and he was so sweet and helpful(and we talked about da Bears!) — I had the spinach salad and a 9 inch margharita pizza with procuitto(sp). The sauce was REALLY good — I’ll definitely be back again, especially if that nice owner guy is there.

Save your money and go somewhere else We went here for lunch yesterday with a Groupon and they were totally not prepared for the Comic Con/Chalk Art Festival Crowd(which is odd seeing that they are right across the street from the convention center, you would have thought they would have been ready to serve the masses). I only saw two people working-the guy at the counter who seemed to be running the show and getting frazzled when there were more than three people in line and someone in the back cooking. We got the marbello calzone with chicken, artichokes and red peppers, penne marinara with meatballs and a Caesar salad. They had some bottled beer there(mostly Great Divide) but they were running out and only two kinds of canned soda-pepsi and diet pepsi. The cashier kept telling everyone to be patient right after they ordered but the food came out in no time. It was like they dumped a jar of Prego sauce on the penne, it was swimming in a thick, bland sauce and even red pepper flakes couldn’t save them and the meatballs were bland as well. I took a bite into my calzone and it was stone cold. I thought it was just the artichokes that were cold but nope – the red peppers, chicken, cheese – the entire thing. I went up to the counter and they reheated it and hooray, it was hot but like the pasta it lacked flavor and taste. I was stoked for this place because of the location and they have pictures of their pizzas on their website and the 5 year old in me loves that. This place lacks anything-personality, flavor or flare and I don’t see it sticking around for long.

Small portions on the salad and pasta especially at $ 6 and $ 8 respectively. Our calzone had cold artichokes and after they popped it in the oven again, it lost a lot of flavor. The cashier was a super chill guy but seemed frazzled when the line reached five to six people deep. I doubt I will be back any time soon. Almost everything lacked flavor and service was hit or miss.

We ignored the warning signs on the wall(literally) that said they were out of Alfredo sauce and pasta. I got the meat lover pizza and my other half got the jerk chicken one. They were both the nastiest pizzas we’ve ever eaten and tasted like crap on a cracker. They were also blasting bad music and had two TVs going with no sound or CC.

Needed a place to grab a bite before the theater and this place is close. They also had a deal on Groupon’s Now section to save money. My friends and I ordered a large Cesar salad to share which was great. They brought us the salad in a big bowl with 3 smaller bowls. Pizza– we got 2 kinds, the Sicilian– tons of meat and the OPC. THe OPC was our favorite. It had Prosciutto, Alfredo Sauce, Red Onion, Four Cheese Blend, Fresh Spinach, and topped with Fresh-Cracked White Truffle Black Pepper. While the Sicilian was good, the OPC was great. With 2 glasses of wine the meal would’ve been $ 48, but with a Groupon deal we saved $ 20. For $ 28 it was a great steal. A note on the décor, it’s lacking. The chairs are not the right seat height for the tables, the dining and the bar.

I was intrigued by the Organic Pizza Company. The menu looked good, they had a nice clean looking space, and they served Samuel Smith’s Organic Cider. The cider was the best part of my visit. I had the spinach salad, my cider, and a personal sized pizza. The only thing I finished was my cider. After one bite of the pizza, I just picked off some of the toppings, and then went to get lunch elsewhere. Unfortunately not a winner for me. The service was as bland as the food. I would definitely suggest heading up Colfax to Pizza Fusion if you want organic ingredient pizza that tastes good.

Recently came here after finding that literally every other place within walking distance had a 45 minute wait. We were going to a show so didn’t have the time to wait. Service sucked here and was less than helpful. They didn’t bus tables or have their menu listed in a fashion where you could order anything but the specials. We ordered blind and ended up ordering way too much food. The pizza was actually pretty good. The pepperonis were nice and crispy and the crust had a good texture to it. I don’t see what was that organic about it, but it was still yummy.

This is a solid 3.5 star place. The hubby and I ended up here after hitting several other places and being faced with long waits at 5p on Saturday(seemed early for everyplace to be packed, but whatever). So we popped into Organic Pizza Company which was relatively quiet(actually filled up as we sat). We went simple with a large pepperoni(8 big slices) and a couple Great Divide IPAs(they feature Great Divide beer in bottles). The people behind the counter were not very friendly or helpful, honestly I am not even sure if they spoke. We were definitely struggling with there menu and no one offered any insight. At any rate, the pizza came out within 15m and it was nicely cooked. Pepperonis where crisp and the crust was thin and chewy. It wasn’t the greatest pizza ever, but it was pretty tasty — simple(in a good way). I did note as we sat that several people after we came in bused their own tables, although there seemed to be several people in the back idle. I think service really needs work here. Next time we would opt for a smaller pie or even just slices with more exotic toppings, but I would go back. It has a great location between the convention center and DCPA so it gets a second look for that reason alone.

Fresh, delicious, organic and HEARTY! We orderd the 16″ with the typical thin crust pizza in mind and ended up leaving with an entire meals worth of food. Great price on their stuff too. 7 gourmet toppings(goat cheese, prosciutto, spinach, etc) for only $ 22! The only reason I am rating it as 4 stars(and which is probably not very fair to the establishment) is because of the young girl working the register. She was very unfriendly and unhelpful. The other woman in the store behind the counter however, was very friendly and attentive, making up for the poor attitude of the girl working the front. Overall, a great place that I would highly recommend to anyone, granted they ate not looking to start up a conversation :)

Salads served in metal dog water bowls. Pizza crust so tough and chewy you can barely finish it. «Cheese Sticks» consisting of a small cardboard pizza topped with a smattering of some«organic» cheese blend that is about as non-cheesy as a fat free modified«cheese food» product. Marinara was ice cold from the fridge. Ever heard of a microwave? Run, don’t walk, to another pizza restaurant in downtown. This place is not going to last much longer. If it wasn’t for a TravelZoo coupon a friend had, we wouldn’t have dined here. Dreadful.

Good but limited options, especially if you don’t want a whole pizza(9in is «for 1»). Patio seating(3 tables or so) available. Working on their alcohol license. If you’re in the area, it’s a cheap, quick lunch option but not my favorite place for a longer or more expensive lunch.

What I had? Carnivore Pizza(Italian Sausage, Homemade Meatballs, Pepperoni, Prosciutto & Applewood Smoked Bacon, OPC Fresh Tomato Sauce, Four Cheese Blend) Food review: Wow, so there are a lot of pizza places in downtown Denver now and I think at one point a few years ago I found myself saying that there really wasn’t any pizza places that stood out to me in the area. That is certainly not the case anymore. The one thing I really enjoy about OPC’s pizza is their sauce. I don’t know what it is but it’s flavor is quite excellent. It’s just well balanced. Add quality meat to that and a crust that doesn’t suck and you have yourself one tasty pizza. The quality of this pizza just really stands out. Service? No complaints Other thoughts: It appears as if they might be expanding their seating to the place next door which would be great for them because they have little to no seating as it stands right now.

Who is Amy M? I wanted to have a first: D Organic pizza is at the bottom of the Spire. This is a nice try on cleaning up the whole pizza deal. Greasy cheese is not such a big deal when you know it is organic along with all of the other ingredients on the slice. I had a tasty Tuscan which had some tasty pheasant as one of the ingredients. It was a little overwhelmed with bacon but that is the learning experience as next time I will build a different pizza. Their ideas are good. Jerk, among other flavors on a pizza can also be made instead as a salad. Friendly and clean. BTW… wasn’t greasy, just normal emulsion from cheese. DT.
