Precision Door Service

Do not use Precision. I called them to tune up my double-​wide garage door. This initial service was prompt and the service tech was friendly and appeared to be competent. He ended up replacing all of the rollers. The door seemed to work smoothly and quietly and I was very pleased when he left. However, a couple of days later I notice one of the rollers was out of the track. I managed to pop it back into the track, but the next day it popped out again. I called Precision and reported the issue and they sent the tech out to evaluate the issue. He found that a piece of the track was chipped off which allowed the roller to pop out, but only one roller of the six on that side popped out. I had never had this issue before Precision made their first service call. The tech said that that section of track needed to be replaced with a cost estimate of $ 150, but that they needed order the part. I dutifully waited but did not hear from them for a week so I called to get an update. I was told there was an issued the office manager would give me a call. He never did. I called again and was told the part was on back order. A few days later without a call the tech unexpectedly showed up. He informed me that his original eat was wrong ant that he needed to replace all of the tracks but did not have the correct ones. The cost would be 2 to 3 times the original quote. I still never go any return calls from the Precision office I had called. I told the tech I was very unhappy with way Precision had handled this issue that my door was off than before I called them, and that I no longer wanted their services and will find an more reliable and reputable garage service.

They came out to fix our tension spring and did a fine job with that.
The technician then recommended new rollers and we thought «sure, why not, since your here». He replaced the rollers that were working just fine with rollers that hang up on something as the door opens and make a loud bang. They sent a couple of techs out to look at the problem, of their own creation, and all the techs scratched their heads in confusion. We asked if we could get the original rollers back that worked just fine and they said they threw them out. Now, every time our garage door opens it sounds like someone hits the ceiling hard with a hammer. $ 500.00 charged. We are planning on calling another company to fix Precisions work. Bummer.

Spent $ 350 two weeks ago because the door kept coming off the track. Today, the spring is broken. Upon investigation, the spring had obviously been moved by the tech (the spring is coated with dust, but suddenly there was a «clean» spot. This movement affected the tension and the spring broke. Tech claims he NEVER TOUCHED THE SPRING and wants $ 315 MORE DOLLARS to fix it. It’s our word against his. Forget this place! Our garage door is STILL BROKEN!

I was thrilled with Precision Garage Door Service! They came within a few hours of my calling them to set up an appointment (to fix my broken garage door). They were prompt, friendly, quick and relatively inexpensive (less than I expected to pay). I would highly recommend them!

Called these folks with their advertised «24÷7» services late one night. They scheduled me from their call center in Florida, then called an hour later to say they couldn’t reach their technician here, so he was probably in bed. Can’t rate their service, since it never happened.

I had a garage door emergency and they got out within 24 hours. My replacement of one broken spring turned into needing to replace all three springs. Then they told me that the rollers needed to be replaced. I pointed out that my husband had recently replaced about 5 of them. They told me that they would suggest all new rollers to the tune of an extra $ 600, even replacing the ones my husband had just replaced. I got the spring fixed but declined the rollers. I still don’t know if getting the extra two springs fixed was necessary. It felt like a big up-​sell.

I have a 2 car garage with a single torsion spring assist that had broken after 10 years. I tried to use this business to repair it after receiving a reasonable quote over the phone, however when the tech arrived the price nearly doubled. When I declined to do the work he insisted I needed he said he had to charge a sevice fee for coming out. The next company I called came out and did the work as it should have been done and was quoted, so this company was clearly trying to bait and switch. Actually, they didn’t have the correct size spring in stock so he said I had to go with 2 springs, which would only be slightly higher than having to special order the spring I needed (which Overhead Garage Door Co keeps in stock). Buyer beware! I can not say anything about their work since it never happened, but I would never trust them to perform the work they are quoting.

After reading Kevin’s review I realized the same thing happened to me (luckily I didn’t get charged a service fee since I had a coupon). BUT the work they did do was fine. I did think it was a bit over priced myself but being in a hurry I had to go with them. SO the service was fine but thought they were a little overpriced.
