I go dancing here with my cousin occasionally. I have to agree with her when she says there is a tip jar for the DJ and a list to write down songs that never get played… Here’s my future TIP: If you don’t take requests, don’t accept money! I am a producer and co-producer and work closely with several DJ’s all of which have their own style. I appreciate the work that you do but when I am out dancing and feelin my groove I would like to be able to say«Hey Mr. DJ, can I throw you some cash to mix in my tune?» If you do not want to accept requests, you certainly do not have to, but you are sending the wrong message. ;)

Great place to have a drink and dance. Wonderful staff and great music. It’s been awhile for a long time but it has the best mixture of people young and older with no drama.

If the security didn’t think they were the Secret Service and rough up customers both men and woman this place MIGHT be ok. Just ok. It’s filled with people with zero class or style .good pick up joint to parking lot pimp if that’s what you are into.

This place is generally known for catering to less of the«in their 20’s» crowd and we go for a more mature feel and less kids. The DJ is usually way off, especially toward the end lately. He has a request list and has his«helpers» hint and point to his tip container, I tip well, always for good service, but he wants his tips up front with no service. I’ve tipped, we’ve talked… nothing. This past Saturday, I guess he’s trying to cater to a crowd that doesn’t come to that club because you could see a huge part of the dance floor and people were leaving the club by 1230am! He needs to be in control and doesn’t even look at his request list, which we paid to write on. Outside of the music, which is huge obviously, this place has the best bartenders and security in town. They are kind and on their game, security doesn’t let anything happen there and when they have to remove someone(rare), they don’t put on a show to seek attention, they remove them with as little notice as possible and get back to work. Love the front door lady and manager too, they are top notch. DJ is screwing stuff up for them though.

Used to be a blast. Old school hip hop and R&B. Now Katy Perry and Jones Brothers. Insane! A club should be hopping at 1am. Club is half empty. Lost a few ladies Proof! Hope you get a decent DJ soon! Observe your crowd! You’re losing business!

My family, friends & I, had a great nite@the Proof! Excellent choice of music, diverse crowd(age & ethnicities), clean/well maintained club & bathrooms & a great staff. Not sure if Karen is an owner or in charge of the place but she was very sweet & professional! She came to our section to wish me a happy birthday & to make sure we were having a great time. Completely satisfied with my experience! Looking forward to celebrating my next birthday here. For inquiring minds we had bottle service which included a bottle of Gold flaked Champagne, a bottle of Patron Silver, 2mixers, ice, grenadine, entrance for 4, roped off V.I.P. section(plenty of elbow room) & a bouncer insuring no uninvited party goers moved in, LOL! $ 360. Worth it!

We liked going into the proof when they had better Dj’s. OMG the woman they have now DJing is a nightmare. Can you say«don’t know how to blend music, let alone play good music», Do they really pay her? They need to change the DJ and please clean the carpets and remodel the bathrooms. It doesn’t smell nice!

The Proof, has historically been a Rheumatism Roundup that attracts a diverse cast of characters(emphasis on characters), and everyone seems to have fun. Haven’t been in a long time, so we stopped in mid-evening on a ladies night Thursday. We were stopped at the door for a $ 5 men’s cover charge(ladies are free). We peered in; there were 5 women on the DJ dance floor and the place was mostly vacant. The doorman wouldn’t budge-pay five bucks or leave. So we left, and the money we would have spent at the Proof, went Poof! We headed to the Tavern DTC(ladies night/ladies drinks free), no cover and it was packed. We spent a bundle.

Fun place to go with a very diverse crowd. Caters to those 30+, but can be fun for anyone who doesn’t want to deal with drama or pretentiousness that the«club» scene offers like Chloe downtown. It’s not a really fancy place and the $ 5 Fri buffet isn’t exactly healthy or good I would want to eat, but there is a lot of food offered with variety for $ 5. Personally I would eat a 99 cent McDonald’s hamburger before I eat the food there. It is the only place in Denver that plays music videos which is very cool and Fridays they play 80’s music/videos. The drinks are priced ok, but college poured. Decently big dance floor. The small cover charge I am not find of, but for the atmosphere it is ok.

AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL… Will never step a foot into this place again. The staff is rude, besides the bartenders. You would think walking into this place that people work in a high end Las Vegas nightclub. Bouncers have a huge chip on their shoulders and are extremely disrespectful. I am a 29 year old woman and there is nothing to do there unless you are much older. The younger people, do not seem very welcome. I would strongly advise against it.

This is mostly a club for people older than 40. Which I understand life goes on after 40, but the proof is desperately trying to bring in a younger crowd for the after 10 pm time frame. However, they don’t know how to treat these clients that dress to impress that are what any club owner would want in their club. The proof has potential to be a good club; but management does not know how to give the younger crowd a good time. The cover is constantly being raised and ladies night day switches frequently. I think the proof should work on customer appreciation, lest I remind them how many better choices there are for the 21 – 35 crowd to choose from. Otherwise stay in your lane with the older crowd and make it the best older crowd bar you can.

The Poof is a great place to go. The music is great and I don’t feel they are skimpy with the drinks either you can taste the liquor in them. I have been there on Ladies Nite, Friday and Saturday nights had a great time all the time. You should check it out!

I’ve been to the proof a couple of times because my buddy is a regular there. Its OK I guess as far as night clubs go. Its not one of those LoDo jumped up pretentious clubs by any stretch of the imagination which is nice but that being said it does have kind of a weird mix of people and age groups which in itself kind of fun and funny to watch.

I went on Saturday night and was told that I was more of an older crowd that frequents here. I didnt know they meant senior citizens, 55 and up. There was a vast age range in here. I would say from 21 – 70. It was cool to see an older couple dancing together and having fun but its not fun getting oggled at by females that are older than my mom. I may give this place another chance in the future; who knows maybe the local retirement center had a party night here on Saturday. I gave it two stars because it was entertaining but the male bartender that served me needs to learn about his drinks and learn what goes in certain mix drinks. He told me that a hurricane is a girly drink. Oh and the male bathroom looks like the 70’s vomited in it. There was a bathroom attendant with a gold chain on, cologne, gum and essence burning. Like I said it was entertaining.

OMG and WOW! Went last night for the 1980’s Friday Retro Happy Hour and we were hooked. Back Story: Calina and I went to the Improv on Sunday and we got to talking to the couple sitting next to us, Sarah and Justin. I told them I lived by the Tamarac Square area and that I had a friend coming to town for the weekend and didn’t have anything planned for Friday. They said they worked at The Proof and they would put us on the guest list. I said that would be great. Little did I know how GREAT it was! My friend and I got there around 6:30pm(Calina would join us later). Paid $ 10 for two buffets and then started walking around to find a table. Well, Justin(who is an excellent bartender) saw us and said did we get our table. We said no, and he went and got Sarah(the Big Dawg), and she had reserved us a table. Also, I told Justin I paid for the buffet for two and he said no, it was their treat. He went back to the box office and got my money back! They also got us a free round of drinks and made sure the box office staff knew that Calina was coming and to not charge her. Definitely felt special at that point and sat down, ordered the Proof Margarita which was yummy and went to the buffet. For $ 5 it was pretty good. It had a taco bar, chips & salsa, pulled pork, mashed potatoes and gravy, sausage, chicken wings. It was pretty tasty. Meanwhile, oldies were playing and a lot of folks were dancing. It was such a diverse crowd. We sat next to a couple that met at The Proof 20 years ago and they were such fun – come to find out it was Bob Raymond(from the band Sugarloaf) and his wife Doris! They had gone to dance and had left their phone and valuables on the table and when they came back we told them thank goodness they sat next to honest people and we watched their stuff. They said thank you and we started talking. Such a cool couple. My friend and I danced and had so much fun! I hadn’t danced in a lot of years and was so glad we came. The Proof gets such a bad rap but it sure is a nightclub that is inexpensive, fun and there is music for all ages. There was always a steady group of folks coming in to the club, and the later it got, the more young folks started coming in and the DJ really got a good feel for the crowd and what music they would like. Big shout out to Sarah and Justin for taking such good care of us and we will definitely be coming back!!! Check out their website for the upcoming schedule. Usually Thursday is Ladie’s Night. Plenty of free parking which I like. This is a great place for groups and to have birthday parties, etc. FUN, FUN, FUN!

I finally made it to thiis club. We had a fun time on a Friday night when they spin 90s and current music. It is kind of a grown & sexy night so if you’re trying to be amongst the Work/Eat/Play cliques, this is not the night. I go to the club to dance not to score so… I enjoyed being amongst people who just wanted to dance. A bouncer told me there was a bit more variety in age on Saturdays so I will check it out. We still had a blast and will be back.

Dancing the night away. Ok so not the whole night but a few hours. Danced with my friends and some guy who for the most part was just dancing by himself. I really had a fun time and what a perfect way to exercise. I think I might just go again. The cover was 3.00 and for that yo get roast beef, taco makings, TATERTOTS, pasta, fried mushrooms and a few other tasty items. Yeah not so tasty but not bad. Dessert was rice pudding with raisins and watermelon. The house wine for 3.25 I think was pretty yucky but I chocked 1 glass down. I was being good. I had to drive in the snow. Good place for people to get together, have a bite or two, dance, and listen to some good music. Thursday’s are ladies night. Also a great place to watch people. Yes people of different ages, backgrounds, and color. People dancing together, by themselves, and groups. Yep it was fun.

It is the nightclub that time forgot. I think the last time I was there was in the late 80s or early 90s. The buffet was good — lots of variety and all you can eat prime rib and tacos. The staff was friendly and did timely stop-bys. When we first arrived it was like stepping into a time-warp — the videos were from the mid-80’s — it was like I had never left. The around 7PM the DJ started playing more current music. Funniest thing of the night was the Cupid song and line dancing. Felt like I was at a wedding and all the old aunts hit the dance floor to do the electric slide. Awwwww, it just brings back old memories. The good olé days when I could stay up past 9PM on a Friday night.

This seems to be a night club where the atmosphere is from the 70’s, the music from the 90’s, and the patrons are all in their 50’s… Seriously though. .. It seems odd to be in your 40’s, go to a night club, and feel like one of the youngest people in the room. The initial ID and Dress Code gauntlet at the door was more than a little annoying. The posted dress code rules seem to target 1) Men and 2) anyone who might be considered«urban». No sunglasses, No bandanas, No print T-Shirts, etc. seems to be targeted at a specific demographic. I had to unzip my fleece so they could see the shirt underneath. I was here for an old neighbor’s birthday party. He did seem to have a very good time. Service was good. The mixed drink I had was horrible. Not sure if the mixer was a low quality«froot jooce» compatible product, or the alcohol was rocking some extra benzene molecules, but it tasted nasty. The table chips and salsa, however, were quite good. It was basic tri-color tortilla chips, but the salsa was well-made, well-seasoned, and had a good kick. I believe it had a variety of tomatoes in the mix.

Oh proof. proof. proof. We have had several encounters over the years-and it never changes. hah Same crowd, same overpriced drinks, same smell… but even still it’s a good time and the music is decent. I don’ t claim I can dance by any means-even while, actually especially when intoxicated, but this is still a fun place to pretend to dance– not too many people thinking they are on one of those reality TV dancing shows trying to show off.
